Guest alexdelarge1975
Hi,Today I installed GameEx and I configured only MAME. I have all the MAME roms, titles, video's (both flv and avi in one folder) etc. I configured in GameEx the paths to these files. If I run GameEx, everything works fine but the video snaps are not visible. When I go to 'change view' and change view, GameEx crashes and displays an error, see below.Any clue how can solve this problem and make the video snaps visible? The error log:21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Opening Configuration File21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: GameEx: Version 12.56: Starting Log21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Operating System Platform: Win32NT21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Operating System Name: Windows XP21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Operating System Version: 5.1.260021:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU E5700 @ 3.00GHz, 2047MB21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: 3Ghz - 2 Cores or CPU's21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Running Randomize()21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Loading PlugIns21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Running Misc startup tasks21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Setting Menu types21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Getting Configuration Values21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Using Theme: Default - GameEx21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - GameEx21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Launching HideOS.exe21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: GameEx will check for media insertion (may affect performance)21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Hiding Taskbar21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Is Media Center running?21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode21:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Media Center Mode 221:35:14.7 4/7/2012: Video previews on. Pojosama
Do you have a codec for opening those videos in WMP? I used shark codecs t do this
Guest alexdelarge1975
I solved the problem....I just red the log and I noticed the error about the .flv files. My video preview folder contains .flv and .avi. The combi of .flv and .avi previews was creating the error. After removing the .flv files, GameEx now shows the video snaps.Greate piece of software by the way!
Draco1962
I don't think you solved the problem - just found your own workaround. GameEx will work with avi, flv, and mp4 video formats. If you had a mix within the same folder, there should be no errors. Pojosama is correct in suggesting that you may have a problem with the codecs you have installed. I would follow his recommendation of installing the Shark007 Vista Codec Pack.
Guest alexdelarge1975
avi and flv play with WMP on my OS. I will install the shark007 vista codec pack and move back the .flv files to the preview folder and check if it works. I will let you know

Guest alexdelarge1975
I moved the .flv files back to the preview folder which contains the .avi files. After that I installed the shark007 vista codec pack. Started up GameEx and the video snap are shown. Great! Thanks for the help!
