Has anyone played around with GameEx and Windows 8 beta yet?

I just got the consumer test version of win 8 installed last night and am about to reinstall GameEx in there. Was wondering if anyone had played with it at all and maybe had some warnings or advice for possible issues and pitfalls.

I upgraded from Windows 7 and I did not have to reinstall Gameex.

The only thing I have tried so far, is playing a few games and it works great!

Is there anything else that I can test, or poke around with?

(ps I am not a Gameex expert, but I will do what I can to help)

I dont know about particulars really. I guess it just needs testing right now. It sounds like it works out the box which is a good start

What' your overall impression of it as an OS?

It's weird. Start button is gone for one thing. I haven't had a TON of time to play with it yet but it's definitely user friendly. There are some differences though.

As for me having to reinstall I had just upgraded my system board and for whatever reason that always requires that I reinstall windows and then all the programs so...

It's designed to work very well with touch screens which could be nice.

Will be interesting to see how well it does with the GameEx touchscreen enhancements, since it is made to be used for tablets, desktop, laptop and allow for cross-synching with Windows Phone and Xbox Live.

I would expect it will just work out of the box with the touchscreen features in GameEx. What will be interesting is if people start to buy windows 8 tablets and choose GameEx as a product to use on them for gaming.

Thats nothing to do with windows 8. It cant find your Daphne path.

Always a good thing when dealing with an OS Beta version to assume that a program written with known compatibility to the previous OS is the cause of the error. C'mon folks! Exercise a little troubleshooting muscle. I know it hurts sometimes, but learning to effectively troubleshoot before posting saves a lot of time and effort for everyone!

Installed it this afternoon. Works without issue, infact works really well.

The GameEx Icon appears alongside other applications on the start page.

Works well for me with some lower quality hardware.
