Is it possible to disable sorting within MAME?

For example in GameEx I want to turn off sort by name, manufacturer ect ect. .. Can this be done in GameEx?

Guess not... needs to be added to the [REQUEST] list.

The reason is it just takes up so much text space across the menu that is just looks bad and I really don't use the sorting features as I like them listed from A-Z which is the default. All the sorting menu items when listed almost strecth across the entire screen. Maybe it's just me but it interferes with the look of alot of the themes graphics.

Ohhh you talking about the nav bar? Can't you just set the location off screen in Theme Editor?

Not that. The text that says: By Name, By Manufacturer By Category By Year

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I have the same issue and I see this thread isn't resolved. Is there a way to remove this sorting bar? It only appears once I get into my Rom lists and I don't want it taking up screen real estate

The issue is not resolved as it is a feature request and cannot be changed within GameEx. If you know you are bumping an old thread, then probably best to start a new one! ;)
