I was rolling along fine and then I changed themes and added the -cheat option in my configuration. (after putting the cheat.zip in the appropriate folder of course)

Now when I launch Mame and start any game, I can hear the correct game plaing, but I have no picture. Just a blank screen staring blankly back at me. The NES and Atari 2600 emulators work fine. It's just Mame. I have attached my config ini, do I need to supply any more details?

Windows 7 64bit AMD Athalon II X2 215 2.7 Gh 4G Ram

Any suggestions?

*or what version of MAME it is...

The mame file version is 0.141.0.0

I never ran it outside of gameex, I am not sure how to, sorry ( I will give it a try)

Its the command line version and I don't know the proper syntax.

I put 1 rom in the same directory as the mame.exe and typed "mame tetrisp" at the command prompt.

It did not work.

Mame had been working perfectly via Gameex 2 days ago.

You can try runitgame.bat after MAME fails and see what it says.

I may have failed to mention that I am an idiot.

My graphics card has a vga connected to my arcade monitor. A couple of days back, I ran an hdmi cable to my TV to watch a movie. It turns out the Mame was appearing on the TV screen, which I could not tell since it was turned off.

All better now.

Thank you for the help!

LOL! That's quite OK.. I once spent hours trying to figure out why my sound card would not work (checked for interrupt conflicts, etc.) and it was only when I opened my PC and started to remove the sound card that I discovered the speaker cable dropped from the jack in the rear. Apparently one of our cats had caught it and dislodged it partially. Will mark this one as resolved!
