[RESOLVED] Settting up gameex for single emulator

Recommended Posts

I'm tryin to search and having some difficulty. But is there a way to set gameex up to automatically go to screen for a single emulator / system? In my case I'm wanting to strictly play and view the list for sega genesis games.

Thanks in advance

You can but it will mean disabling as many apps as possible via the Setup Wizard first, then using the Custom Menus application to setup. Likley you will want to have two screens, 1 for your emulator and one for your Exit commands.

Is it me? But i find it odd that people install this fabulous piece of software called GameEx that is an HTPC and emulator front end then wanna strip it back to do just 1 thing baffles me why doesnt this guy simply install a genesis emulator? Ok im British so maybe i dont get it ???

I get it. :)

Some folks have dedicated machines instead of one for everything. You still get a great UI either way. ;)

Maybe it's because your British  ?

Honestly I want to use it on a single mini-cabinet stripped down with minimum controls for a group of our church kids to use. Sega Genesis has enough games with only 3-buttons required per game, easy and trouble free...it can get complicated for someone unfamiliar with the various buttons needed to play other emulators...let alone switching back and forth within gameex.

I like the gameex interface and how easy it is to use...I just want it to boot straight to the genesis list for ease of use.

I have a full size cabinet at my house running gameex with multiple emulators for my personal use, so I'm getting full benefits on that system

Thanks for the input everyone :)

If you need help I'm here and so is the rest of the community. :)

I understand perfectly what you're trying to do and yes, there is a way. Start by disabling things as Draco suggested and we'll go from there. :)

PS: you do know Tom is a Brit too right? Careful where you sling the B word! LOL/JK!

Actually, the information you received is a little off. There is a fix to emulator feature in GameEx that does exactly this. It should be under Enable/Disable features and you specify the emulator number. Hopefuly it made it over to the setup wizard.

I'll check but if it did I never noticed it unless it was recently.

You're lucky! LOL!

Thanks Tom! I'll lock it in for the next time this comes up. :)

Not sure how I missed it in the first place, I was just in there a few weeks ago. :D

Glad it's working Dennis! Marking as [RESOLVED]. :)

Ah now i get it, so please except my apologizes if i was a bit coarse with my wording, i did not realize your intentions.

You could add SMS too... only 2 buttons there. :)

Not to meention you could keep the games in the same list since they run on the same emu.
