[RESOLVED] All Games Menu Item

Just a bit of a nuisance but I thought to ask.

I think I am using a V1 theme, its called "My Games for MCE (Widescreen)".

I disable the "All Games" menu option in the configuration options but when the front end loads it is initially displayed.

Once I select "MAME Games" or any other menu item and return back to the main screen the "All Games" option is no longer available - as per the configuration.

I want this menu item completely disabled but I'm not sure why it is initially displayed and later hidden.

May be a caching artifact. Locate all files that contain cache within the file name or extension and delete them. Should be within the gameex\data path. Needed cache files will rebuild. Let us know if this resolves the issue.

I copied the GameEx folder and searched for all files with cache in the filename and extension.

Deleted all files but still have the same problem.

When loading the "All Games" menu item is available but after selecting "All MAME Games" or any other menu it is removed.

Any other pointers welcome.

I checked the code and I cant see anything wrong. If you have it in a custom menu it will override the config setting though.

I'm just using a default setup on the "My Games for MCE (Widescreen)" by Amos.

Should be easy enough to test by selecting the theme and loading the front end with the "all games" menu item disabled.

You should find that "all games" is initially displayed and after you go into any menu and back out again it will be hidden until restart.

Really does look like a bug.

Not really a huge issue but I would like it sorted if possible.

Could be related - not the same thing as I saw though. That was just a different (wrong) background/layout being used under certain conditions. This could be related and be associated (i.e., arising from the same cause) - not sure though since I don't have this item in my lists.

Dont think it is related. Different issue by the look of it. bitwildcard, I just wanted to confirm. Are we talking about the all Games across all systems or MAME all games?

Strange, I really cant see a bug related to this. Are you sure you are not using custom menus? Perhaps there is a duplicate setting in the theme.ini or gameex.ini.

Of course, you could save us some guess work and zip up your GameEx.ini and post it...

I did try to add ShowAllGames=false to Theme.ini but it made no difference.

I have spent a fair bit of time trying to find a configuration fault but I cannot explain why the menu option shows up on boot but then hides itself after any menu item is selected.

I did experiment with custom menus temporarily as I thought I could replace the default menus to get round this "all games" issue but gave up fairly quickly.

I have disabled the feature so I'm not sure it should be causing any problems.
