The only two images I'm actually using from XBMC right now is the left menu panel and the background. All other images (top menu, weather, time and rss feed backgrounds) were done by me in Photoshop. You can find the XMBC files on Sourceforge HERE.

As for the text and positioning, that's all done with the theme editor and notepad.

I'm planning on calling my theme ConfluenceEx, and I hope I'm not stepping on naborneo toes here.

Tom - I know from my own experience that some of the HTPC behaviors utilize the Coverflow approach on smaller menus or a vertical list with a static highlight bar. In either menu, the highlight bar is static (for my redneck friend, this means it says put, not radio noise like on your CB Radio) and the menu items move through the highlight bar. This makes for a very clean appearance and would add incredibly to our skinning options.

Are talking we talking about lists or menus? Menus as in the horiziontal, lists as in games list.

Actually the effect could be applied to both list and menu items. So instead of a moving highlight, it would remain static and the list items could just rotate through it. So really talking about both.

This is a great idea, and was something I was looking for too. Is there a way to use the poster art for the thumbnail rather than the screen shot it picked?

I was also wondering, the description text shows up in the Menu. Is there anyway for descriptions to be in it own object rather than using the Menu for the text?

And, can I use custom layouts for different menus? Or is the theme.ini file the only file that controls everything? Is there support for a video.ini file or something like that?

Looks great. Nice to see something HTPC based. Please go for it!

PS: If you need any features or tweaks added to GameEx to support what you are doing please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions and I'll be looking for your input! The only features I'd love is to have full text formatting for each object. And thank-you for sending my Key! Everything is working great!

It looks very nice. Have you tried remaking the selector bar in the same style?

Yup, that's something that I'll be changing as well.

Hey if you can do it better be my guess. I just wanted something that looked closer to XBMC since that's what I use my PC for. I did that over a weekend, nothing that couldn't be wipped into shape. I just wanted to focus on an XBMC look and 16:9.
