My collection is starting to get bigger and it is becoming harder to track manually so I'd like to learn how to use a manager that plays well with GameEx if possible. What tools do you guys use to keep track of snaps, rom-names, versions, videos, box-art etc, for regular emulators? Also describe the workflow and process you use to keep them all aligned when updating to newer sets.

Most regular emulator sets are 'done' - at least for older ones. I think once you get a set, check it against a database or something similar, you should be good to go and not have to worry about it.

That being said, I'm not currently using one aside from scanners every once and awhile (I think ClrMamePro was the one I used when I last did it...but it's been awhile).

I was hoping for something along the lines of a database gui that could parse multiple directories at once and show what the romname and version are, and the other directories would show if there was art/info for each of the categories pertaining to it.

Like: |Super Mario Bros.| |(USA)| |v 1.0| |Title| |Snap| |Box| etc.

Then it would be easy to pinpoint what to add or adjust. I use fatmatch to get the names all in sync but it would be nice for a birds eye view of all the data.

I done some work into something along these line at the start of the year Emu Extras

Not sure if it's what you are after but it sounds like it's along the same lines.

Place the exe in your GameEx directory and run it. It scans you GameEx config and tells you if the rom has a matching entry in the system database and if it has screenshot with the same name.

Very good app to have. I also like the export to Excel feature so that I can build my overall collection by Emu and target specific deficiencies.

THIS IS PERFECT!

Exactly what I needed and the export to csv was ingenious. I'll be playing in excel for the next few hours and have them all cleaned up in no time.

Thank you so much, this will save me so much time. :D
