dukeofarcadia
How/where can I change the descriptions/bios that appear with the games.Secondly I have an x arcade 2 player tankstick with a track ball. The button display that appears before playing a mame game does not have enough buttons nor a trackball. So I can't appropriately label the buttons to my liking.I'm sure a bunch of other people who have a tankstick must alsohave this problem... anyway around it? celly
First off, the game info for roms can be changed or configured within the .mdb file for that emulator, located in the DATA folder in the GameEx folder install location. As for the Tank Stick, go grab CPWizard and give that a shot. It's a great tool that can be configured to your individual CP setup.
Adultery
+1 for CP Wizard. It's awesome, not a beast to get going, and works natively with GameEx. PS: Good choice on that xarcade setup. They got great stuff over there.

Adultery
Any database editor should do. I use Access but theres probably a free alternative like Open Office that can do it.

A Great, FREE alternative to the MS products.Tried open office.. it opens it but it's just a bunch of symbols..and like a million ###### marks... anyway to open it and see itlegibly? I see their are descriptions mixed in. But if add a word and goback in gameex there nolonger is descriptions for any game of thatsystem.. luckily I backed up that file before fooling around. dukeofarcadia
Is there a specific way to open something in OO to make it open like a database insteadof just a document of wacky symbols.
dukeofarcadia
Really what I'm trying to do is show a list of cheats for that gameafter the description. But how would I do this as an alternative..You know how you can look at your box art.. then under that your manualor whatever.. is there anyway I could make a new folder and put a png image of a little cheat sheet or something in that.. and have that be in the categorys.. or are they just restricted to box art, manual, cartridge etc. Thanks for the help guys. Draco1962
You could create an image file and each emulator has options to enable for custom artwork paths. So long as the image is named the same as the ROM and is in that custom artwork path, you will be able to see it.

Adultery
Can you also view the custom artwork pressing the 0 key in-game? That would also be sweet!Damn that may be work! But I can already see the advantages. Especially with GameExtender...
dukeofarcadia
Can you also view the custom artwork pressing the 0 key in-game? That would also be sweet!I've already tried it adultery and you can!I made one for splatterhouse 3 on genesis.I even put some stencil art from the game ontop and blood splatters towards the edges.. so you can kindamake artistic little cheat sheets it's pretty cool.and you can press zero and check them anytime.which kind of caused a problem for me in Kega whenentering a game genie code any way to fix that?cause typing 0 exits you outHey maybe we could see a whole line of user created cheat sheetsfor use in gameex! Adultery
You can change the hotkey for that function from 0 to something else... If I were gonna do this I could see how this would be useful. I'd probably just use the same template for the whole system with specific codes for each game. Man that would take a while! It'd be cool if we had easy access to the intel though!Definitely be cool to see though!
hansolo77
GameFaqs is the place to go for cheat codes, if anybody feels like taking a stab at it.
starbuck
A while back I did a topic on just this idea. I found a database that is updated monthly and that is free and has thousands of cheats for all types of systems. It also a database for dvd bloopers. The link is www.cheatbook.deAgree it would be a great feature within GameEx
