Been working on a few more today. Got the following done this morning:

Nintendo Gameboy

Nintendo Gameboy (Alternate)

Nintendo Gameboy Advance

Nintendo Gameboy Color

Atari LYNX

Got pretty much most of all the major consoles and portable systems done now. Now starting to work on more of the obscure systems.

UPDATE: Well tonight I finished working on:

Texas Instrument TI994/A

Apple ][

I must say my GameEx system with my new theme has just gotten a major Hyperspin like makeover. Much much better!:D Looking forward to finishing this so I can release it for all you to enjoy as well.;) Still got alot more systems to work on and PC games too....I will more than likely release it without the PC games as I will release those as an add-on expansion to the theme.

Ok guys I know I've been telling you all about what I have been doing with my theme. So tonight I give you just a sneak peek at one of the Interactive Fiction backgrounds I'm including with this theme.

Tonight I have completed these backgrounds:

Super Gameboy

Sony Playstation

Infocom

Adventure International/Scott Adams Adventures

Looks great Krakerman.

If you are looking for other systems.

Sega SC-7000

Sega 3000

Sega Pico

Spectravideo SVI 318 & SVI 328

Tiger Gizmondo

All these are easy to emulate and have some great games.

Looking pretty good, Krake! The only problem I might have with this image as representative of Interactive Fiction is that it is brand exclusive to Infocom games and does cover the SAGA and other adventures that came out in the same format. Otherwise, looking pretty good!

Posted

I have done seperate Interactive Fiction backgrounds Draco for Infocom, SAGA/Scott Adams, Magnetic Scrolls, ect... So you can set up each as a emulator as what I did since some use a different Interpreter to run.:D I have these under a custom menu in GameEx under Interactive Fiction ;)

I already finished:

SAGA/Scott Adams

Magnetic Scrolls

Infocom

and I'm working on Mysterious Adventures as well.

Thanks for the good feedback as it helps me to improve it.

Thanks Starbuck. I've already got the spectravideo, but never heard of the others. Will check into those systems when I get a chance.

I hope I never have to help you troubleshoot! Your log is probably huuuuuuge! Lol!

It's a well oiled machine runs super smooth my friend! and I backup every week on an external HD so I have a backup :D, but I'll keep you in mind if things go a foul :P

Just remember the good ol' spoiler tag! Lol!

To be honest there may even be limits to the amount of data you can put into a spoiler! I think I will stop at about 30 total systems if not less. With so many things needing updates, etc., I want to have some time to actually play a few games once in a while!

I just bought a smart phone the other night and if I get a chance maybe I will make a video showing this theme in action. Not sure but I already have close to 100 emulators in GameEx and it runs super smooth unless it's because my system is a very fast high end PC with 16gb of ram in it. That always helps.

Can't wait to download the theme. Will your theme allow a specfic background/foreground for a game under the system? I seen where hyperspin's new version that is coming out will no longer use flvs but the same mp4s that GameEx uses.

Posted

GameEx themes don't allow this.

GameEx themes don't allow this.

This question for game-specific background/foreground images has been gone over at length in a few other threads for which I believe a Feature Request has also been placed. Themes have no bearing on this type of functionality (since it does not exist).

Draco is right, but I managed to work around that with my system. I have created individual backgrounds for each game, but it takes a bit of setting up (not that hard it's actually really easy) and it does work however a request for this feature has been put in and maybe they will add it in to make it more user friendly to setup. I'm glad everyone is looking forward to this theme as I'm trying to make it so your system can have that Hyperspin look, but without all the animated backgrounds as GameEx doesn't support that and it also works better with Custom Menus as that is how I am setting it up on my system. Even thou it doesn't have the animations it's looking really cool.

By setting up Customs Menus that is how I created a Menu for Interactive Fiction and sub menus for the different systems like Infocom, ect ect with their own backgrounds.

Well I am starting to get good at Paint.net, but it seems a bit limited ... so I took the next step and bought Paintshop Pro X4 Ultimate today and depending on how I do with it I might be touching these backgrounds up and/or adding new images to them to look more professionally done. I was watching some youtube videos on it and I was impressed at how much easier and better plugins this comes with. Dam I remember this program back in my early Amiga days, how times have changed. So I have a new paint program to tinker around with tonight :D! Hopefully I can learn this fast and get busy with my theme. Last night I finished working on:

Tomy Tutor

Dragon 32/64

MSX

MSDOS\DosBox\D-Fend Reload (Total re-do and looks 100% better than my first attempt)

MisfitMAME

Games For Windows (This one will have individual PC Games like Cysis ect ect)

Cysis and Crysis Warhead (Many more to come later)

Posted

I played around with PaintShop Pro back in my DOS 5/Windows 3.0 days and it was one of the best programs then for the price. Look forward to seeing some more work!

Switching paint programs is slowing me down a bit as I am trying to learn how to do things in PSP X4 (PaintShop Pro X4). Some things in Paint.net were real simple, but in PSP X4 it's much different, but tonight I just figured out how to mess with layers which dam near was pissing me off trying to figure out how to do things. However tonight I just figured it out what I wanted to do as it only took 2 days and searching all over the net with no luck, but I figured it out!!

So now I can get back to working on the theme. :D image to follow..

You might as well just pick up GIMP, youre gonna outgrow that software fast! You're damn near ready to get a graphic design job already!

Like the floppy disk idea. Coming along great! Did you do any Gameex "stock" pages yet?

Posted

Thanks I liked how the floppy disk turned out :D. I have GIMP, but I just don't like the way the interface is. PSP X4 is really nice, but costed some $ but I got Video Studio Pro X4 also with it and the Full Version of WinZip Pro also. Funny it came with 3D Red/Blue glasses too. Nicer pair than expecting which I can use for many other things that I have that require them.

Not yet ... as I wanted to get the emulators out of the way which I'm very close to being done with. A few need to be touched up. Then I will start on the stock pages. I've got the Main page done, but I need to re-do it as I'm not happy with it. Overall thou it's coming along. Tonight I just finished up a few more:

Sega Saturn

Sony Playstation 2

Oric

Final Burn Alpha
