Visual Pinball Help

Hello!

Please, I would like to have some advise on how to use the VPinball_Loader in GameEx\LOADERS. If I understood correctly, the loader hides the window while the table is loading. I would like to have my tables loading that way instead of having that window. Currently Visual Pinball V9 runs well on my system, but I configured it independently of any loader.

I found this thread but it left me a bit unsecure and confused. What are VPinball_Loader and vpauto? These are included in GameEx installation. Are these files sufficient or do I need something else? How can I setup Visual Pinball in GameEx so that it starts via loader?

Here is my emulator config for Visual Pinball:

Sure. I'm willing to bet I know what the problem is though. if you could export and post your vpinball emulator ini from GameEx and post the vpinball_loader ini I can help you fix it faster.

I seen this post and it really didn't finish to a resolve as I am kinda stuck with the Loader thing myself. I got Visual Pinball working great outside Gameex. Gameex however will not load game for me, I have it all set up and it seems when select a table to play it, it goes black. It wants to load but it is stuck asking me for permission to run the program (vspinball). So I decided to fart around with the loader (since I keep on seeing it when I search about this.) This is a dumb question but where do I put the all the files for this loader?

yeah that was the post I used to get me this far :) Gameex will launch it, but I know that the program is asking for "user rights" thus making my screen black. I do have it (under properties "run as admin") Not sure why it keeps asking for it. I was hoping maybe the loader/wrapper would help get by this, but I am not sure where to put them files at. Thanx for the fast response :)

Just to throw something else in here.. I recently re-setup Visual Pinball and had some trouble too. I went a different route though. Have you tried using Castro's wrapper/launcher? You can download it here:

http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/simplephp/ccount/click.php?id=57

Its really nice, and works great with GameEx. Here's a support thread I had created:

http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/11063-resolved-visual-pinball-help/page__p__85743#entry85743

and a post on how to configure GameEx to work with it:

Well I got the wrapper/launcher to work from the link you gave, works really nice! Gameex however trys to run it but again the permissions is still waiting for me to click yes...Can I ask how you got around this? Both the launcher exe and the VPinball exe have the "run as admin" checked, but still does it. Other than that I think i am close.

I'm not sure what to suggest here. If you have the launchers and VPinball both set to run as admin, it should work. Are you sure it's an access/permission dialog and not something like the "If you're authorized to use this ROM, blah blah blah". If it's the ROM one, that launcher should be taking care of it. If it's wanting admin privledges I'm not sure. On my system, I turned off the UAC so it would never prompt me. This is not a recommended procedure (since it opens up abilities for hackers to run programs, etc) but if you have an offline system, you should be safe to do it. I turned it off, and disabled the notifications as well.

http://www.petri.co.il/disable-uac-in-windows-7.htm

^--- Has a nice walkthrough. Basically you go into the control panel, search for UAC, and disable it. Then go into your notifications and set it to always hide. That might work for you.

Actually I got it to work now!!!! :) All I need was made sure Gameex was on the "run as admin" also, that did the trick, finally got VPinball to work smoothly in Gameex. Thanx for the info and help :)
