Hi all!!

I'm trying to config my Atari 5200 and 7800 systems on Gameex, but when i launch a game a have a black screen and return to Gameex.

I'm using Mess64.

If i launch the games in Mess64ui the games work perfect.

The command line i'm using is mess64.exe a5200 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewui and mess64.exe a7800 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewui.

The roms are zipped, but i think mess can run games zipped.

Thanks in advance.

What version of mess are you using? asking because as of 0143u4,messui is no longer included or supported.

Try this CL,its is the one i use

mess64.exe a7800 -cart "[Rompath]\[Romfile]"

Also if you need a FE for setting up systems in mess,QMC2

is great

The above responses are correct. With mess64, you don't want to use -nonewui switch. Also, make absolute sure you have your command as mess64.exe and not mess.exe. If you use the default setting from GameEx (when it auto downloads the settings), it uses mess.exe and doesn't work because you don't actually HAVE that program.

Also, make sure all your paths are correct. One little mistake can cause it not to load too. This probably isn't the problem since you are getting a rom list though, but it doesn't hurt to double check.

Lastly, you say your roms are zipped. Is that all they are? ZIPPED? If they're in 7z, you need to enable the 7z support in GameEx, as MESS doesn't unzip 7z yet.

Oh my GOD!!! A lot answers in a short time!!!

THANKS ALL YOU FOR THE HELP!!!

Ok, the problem is solved now. Drop the -nonewui switch and activated the zip/7zip option on Gameex.

It works like a charm!!!

Thanks you all!!!

So your roms were indeed also in 7zip format?

I'd say probably as the 7zip option in GameEx was needed and MESS supports zip, but of course he'll have to confirm this. Especially since they dropped support for the new UI, it might have been the switch was all that needed to be changed.

Ok Adultery, I deactivated the zip option on Gameex and the games runs well. The 7zip/zip option is not needed to run the games, only deactivate the switch.
