Hi all !!

Today i tried the search function inside GameEx to find a game and it appears to search the games but the list is completly empty.

At the bottom of the list i can see 0/11 for the results of the search, but no games are showing on the list.

I think is a bug.

Thanks in advance!!!

I never used the search feature before, but I will try later and see if I can confirm the bug or not.

EDIT: I tried to perform a search (three different search, actually) but I can't confirm it's a bug. I got all the result as expected.

So, I don't know...

Hi All!!!

Sorry for the inconvenience...

Hi all!!

Sorry but the problem is not solved yet...

I've tried the search function sometimes and still have the same problems.

Sometimes the search works well, but other times the list is empty but at the bottom is the number of games found.

Other times the screen starts to blink and have a black screen with the mouse cursor.

There are some problems on the search function. Please, re-open the post to find a solution.

Thanks

Unfortunately I am unable to duplicate this issue.

What theme are you using?

Posted

I'll try again using the same theme. In the meantime, ca you do a search, exit GameEx, and post your log so I can take a look?

Posted

I have attempted under that theme and several others, no problems to report here either.

@Evilforces - can you provide for us the words you are using in your search? Also, let us know if you are searching for anything in a language setting other than English. Some screen captures in addition to Adultry's request for log file right after the search issue occurs will be helpful.

Ok guys, first of all thanks for all your answers.

I tell you what i do:

1 - I updated to the latest version (today)

2 - Entered GameEx and go to search function

3 - I entered Pang word into the serch tab, and go to "find games"

4 - The search function works fine, and show me the results.

5 - Return back and search the word Pango and go to "find games"

6 - The screen starts to blink and showing the message "please wait"

7 - The screen get black and only see the mouse pointer

8 - Gameex Crash.

I need to say that it not matter what the word you search, it occurs whit other search words.

My log is attached to this post.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Tom!!

Where is the gameex.ini to attach it to this post?

Thanks<br><br>Ok Tom, I disabled Gamebase and the search works fine now!!!<br><br>Excuse my stupid question but, what gamebase is? is an emulator like mame?<br><br>Thanks all for your help.<br>

The gameex.ini file is located under \gameex\config\ path. You will need to zip it before attaching it in reply to this thread as the forum software will stop you from uploading any file with a .ini extension.

Gamebase is a combination frontend/database/rom library of various systems, most notably those for the Commodore systems. If you are not using it, disabling it would be a good thing.

Thanks for reply Draco!!

No, i'm not using that systems from Gamebase. I disable it....

Tom, if you want and need the ini file, i can send you by mail or attach here.

Tell me if you need the file.

Thanks

He'll need it for future proofing so I would just zip it up and attach it here.
