SpyhunterUK
I ham running version 10 or even before that and I wondered how to upgrade to the latest version - I have done an install but it overwrites my settings? Any suggestions?
hansolo77
You can update 2 different ways. The easiest way is the built in updater from within GameEx. Just let it do it's thing. It will update, then return to GameEx. The other way is to download the installer again from the GameEx homepage. This will require you to install overtop of your current installation. Just let it overwrite anything it needs to. The individual settings are kept, like your emulator settings, keymaps, theme choice, etc. This just updates the core program files. Draco1962
As always, it is a good practice to make a backup of your settings on a regular basis. Once you have backed-up your GameEx settings (I usually just back up the entire GameEx folder and contents to a zip file stored elsewhere on my system), you can either download the latest version and install that way or an update install from within GameEx (this requires Enable Auto GameEx Updates set to "Install Updates at startup" - this is automatic, or "Ask me if I want the update" - click to accept or back to abort) via Setup Wizard under Enable/Disable Features. bkenobi
There are newer required components for GameEx v12 versus v10. You need to make things like DirectX, .NET, etc are up to date. It looks to me like the error you encountered is related to DirectX. If it gets past that, you'll probably see warnings about other components, too. Adultery
From the log it looks like you have an issue with your title font. Can you please post the theme you're using's INI? Adultery
that's the gameex.ini but may also prove to be helpful. What theme are you using? Try switching to the Default - Default theme. Does it still crash? Does every theme cause the crash?

AlphaUMi
Try to close other background programs. Try to update your video card drivers. I have had a similar issue and it was due to drivers not updated.Cheers,Alpha.
