GAMEEX with Partial Mame Romsets

Heya, Just downloaded the latest revision of GameEX

I have a full set of mame 090 images, however they are the ones that are dependant upon a main game and the variants only hold the required different roms. eg Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition is 'sf2ce' 4 odd mb and is the full romset, but Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting 'sf2t' is a variant and is only a few hundred Kb, . all tests ok via Mame from CMD but when i run an update in GAMEEX it will only detect the full images and not the variants.

is there a filter option to include the variants? (note this is not related to clones i dont beleive).

yeah it has a noclones option:

NoClones=True

now i have a q: when you have gameex not showing clones like this, how does gameex decide which game to show? it seems purely random, or what am i missing?

so when your talking about clones, SF2 Champion Edition is the orignal and SF2 Hyper Fighting is a clone?

same instance say ...for all the SF2 Red Wave roms , and Rainbow release... i didnt think these would be classed as clones..

Nevermind all, Appears GameEX does not like Merged Sets, and or the 090 merged sets i was using all had incorrect filenames...

CLRMame sorted and renamed, then set to split sets... refreshed gamelist... working fine.

ok yes i do split so i hadnt found that issue.. but, im still wondering how gameex decides which clone to show? tom?
