mesk
So I was wondering what aspect settings most people on here use for MAME.Do you have MAME keep the games original aspect,or do you have MAME stretch the image out to fill your screen? im really undecided on this,on one side I want to keep these games as close to original as possible, but on the other hand I like how games look when they fill the screen... so opinions? Adultery
I stretch them, but I like seeing it fill the screen.
fRequEnCy
+1. I don't like to see all the wasted real estate of my screen. Depends on the game I guess. And since I don't play it doesn't really matter so I just keep it stretched.

hansolo77
Not me, I like to keep it in proper ratio. That's why I was fussing about the Intellivision. There are some games that require precision, and with tall thin or fat squashed pixels, it's hard to do. I like mine nice and square like the way they display originally. In fact, I was kinda hoping somebody came up with a GameEx Mame bezel that would go out and fill the 4x3 to 16x9 space. That would be awesome. Adultery
There are several. The problem is that MAME only applies them for vertical games. This will likely require a custom MAME compile.
DJoneK
I always try to keep the original aspect ratio. For everything, not just games. When stretched.. everything looks... fat, lol.Plus, the nostalgia factor is not that good when you play stuff stretched, when originally you played them as they were meant to be. celly
I only keep vertical MAME games their native ratio. Galaga (one of my all time favs) looks like hammered ass fullscreen. All other emulators are stretched.
