Draco1962 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 All - wish me luck today! After a 3 month employment drought, I am interviewing for a two month contract. The pay is good and it is with an organization that I've been interested in working with quite a while - The Wounded Warriors Project. While I would probably pass on short term projects, I couldn't pass up the chance to work with those that are dedicated to helping our injured soldiers return home and return to productive lives. Regardless of the outcome, please consider them when donating. Quote
nullPointer Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Good luck Draco! It's a noble cause, and they would be lucky to have you in their corner. Quote
Adultery Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Our station just donated a chunk to Project: Homecomming for this exact type of thing. They even have a 'relaxation camp' for soldiers returning home to enjoy an all expenses paid camping vacation to get away from the BS and re-connect with their families. It's a noble cause, and they deserve it! Quote
Draco1962 Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 Well, it appears that the interview is on hold until next week as the recruiter just received word that they were in meetings this morning up until a few minutes ago. Game Face Mode [OFF] until next week. Quote

Draco1962 Posted August 6, 2011 Author Posted August 6, 2011 Thanks all! As anyone can tell you that has been in my situation, it is very frustrating, fatiguing, not to mention a blow to the ego to lose a job unexpectedly and be without for any duration. Unemployment pays beans, bills pile up, and while you'd take anything to survive, you also don't want to necessarily take anything that will keep you exhausted and unavailable for a good position elsewhere. The one thing the keeps my hope up are my family and friends. As long as I have the hope and maintain my faith, I know I will find something worthwhile! Quote
