strange letters

these letters have just started appearing on my frontend - any ideas??

Not sure what is happening - please upload a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files. Would also like to know if you have made any recent updates to your system, software additions, etc.

I had something similar appear, about 30% of the time I booted up, when I was first starting to use the awesome Future Retro theme. The problem went away eventually though - I think it is likely that updating GameEx is the reason why.

Nothing appears out of the ordinary for your setup or in the log file that I can see. Since you just updated to 11.92 would you mind rebooting your system and report back whether or not the issue continues?

This happens when the image cache gets screwed up. Delete all the .png files in the data folder or just switch between full screen and widnowed.
