GameEX and Taito Type X

Interesting when I bought cards a coupla years back ATI was the only one who would carry sound over HDMI. I'ma hafta look into this since one of these games has issues with ATI cards. Adultery disconnect your PC speakers and turn the volume up on your TV. If you hear something while playing you know your video card will do it. :) Hmm checking out some things I'ma hafta get a copy of 7 XP is maxed at 4GB

Yeah but it's just a pass through right? I mean it's handled by the system not the card itself? My mobo has a header for HDMI, would it be better to use that?

I like this card and was thinking of using the same one in an HTPC. Obviously my cab doesn't need HDMI since I judt use the DVI on my monitor, and taking one of my HDTVs off the wall to test is a little crazy. Would it say in the card specs?

I'm stuck again guys. Can you not play SSF4AE with a player 2 or does it need to be connected somehow to another SSF4AE cab/game? I'd like to eliminate my PC version for the actual arcade version and have a versus match.

The full kit on Coin-Op Express is listed as a single cabinet, so I don't think so, but I could be wrong. Seems to me it's only an upgrade to SFIV. I do a lot of testing myself so never tried 2P.

In case if any1 wondered I ended up getting a HD 6850 Black Edition, Nice card BTW. I am also running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit So far all games run nicely at full frame rate. However I haven't had to fool with compatibility mode. Any1 know why? Not that I am complaining just curious cause some people have had to fool with it.

Quick Breakdown of specs

i5-2500K processor

ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 LGA 1155 Motherboard

ATI Radeon HD 6850 Black Edition Video Card

Raidmax RX-850AE 850w ATX Power Supply 80 Plus Gold PSU

About six hard drives

Cd Burner

Blah blah blah

Using the latest launcher I haven't had to adjust compatability mode either. Depending on how you're launching these it could be that the ArcadePC Loader has configured a suitable workaround and the bat file method doesn't.

PS: Woah! Can I come over to your house and play? LOL

I use the bat file method for SSIVAE. Cause the launcher launches it in japanese the bat file uses english and unlocks two characters. B) Sure come on over. I have 2 machines that will run these at a full framerate now. Is there a workaeound for that one game that has issues with ATI cards? it's one of the blazblue games. If not one of them runs fine on ATI. Now I gotta find a home for my Q6600 water cooled system I took out to put this one in. thinking of selling it. I think I've turned it on about 10 times since having it.

IP35 Pro M/B

intel Q6600 (I think) quad core

Basic themaltake water cool kit

some kind of NVIDIA 512MB vid card

4GB of RAM

I run blazblue in windowed mode instead of full screen. That's fixed it for me, but I admit it's not ideal. As long as I can play it I'm happy though! :)

My Dell is a Q6600. Very reliable quad core machine. This is my main PC/HTPC for GameEx running Windows 7 Pro x64 with 8 GB of RAM. Wouldn't mind another one for running as a dedicated unit for either cab or HTPC.

I set it up as its own emu and have GameEx kill the process for me, then made a group with all tge other TTX and launcher games.

So I've got all these games running and launching just fine (thanks in particular to Adultry's slammin guide), but I cannot exit these games without ctl+alt+del. ESC just isn't working. From what my little pea brain has gathered, this is probably due to not having the advanced config looking at the right processes, right?

What processes is your advanced config looking for?

I swear I do the dumbest stuff. A)I was setting an exit key in the typeex-config program...but I thought it was to get out of that program. So space bar exits every game. B)I had game ex looking for both game.exe and loader.exe, not launcher.exe. There is no loader.exe, and since I kept trying the same game that uses loader and not game, it just wasn't working. I swear. I have one final question. On Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, I can't do any diagnals. I can't just forward or backwards, and I can't do any moves like quarter cirle punch or whatever. Anybody else having this problem? I'm using a usb arcade stick through xpadder. If I set up SFIVAE to read either the stick directly or the keyboard, and if I use the stick with the keyboard or just the keyboard, I still can't get it to work. Any ideas?

You can change the joystick type in xpadder from 4-way, 8-way, etc. if it's set to 4-way change it to 8-way and see if it makes any difference.

I got it figured out. I had to say no to the four way joystick question in the typex_config program. Also, just to put this out there for anyone who runs into this, I also had to tell Game EX to look for "ah3-fullscreen.exe" for Arcane Hearts 3 to come into focus and be able to exit when launched. It's the only game I've found that doesn't use either game.exe or launcher.exe. Just in case.

None of the games that are non Type-X in the loader use these files (beatmania and Otomedius come to mind, but there are others too)
