fRequEnCy
Hrmph, nobody bothered to tell me yet how big this emulator/games is. Sounds really interesting, and since it seems to be the system a lot of people are figuring out right now; I'd like to help. I'm limited on drive space though (I got about 100gb left, but haven't started setting up the Pinball stuff yet).I don't have all the games yet and I'm at 10GB+ right now. And with new games getting added to the loader, that's adding up quickly.
Adultery
Well, some of these games are real HDD hogs, just so ya know (Beatmania alone is over 20 GB).I should also mention they're a pain in the ass to find, and for most of them to work well you'll need Xpadder or something of that nature. I'm here to help ya if ya need me though!I have them all so far except SFIV Arcade which was just added recently... I'll give you a size total in a few minutes. celly
I have just the fighters and the games are freakin huge! Mesk and I have been tinkering with Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny and can't seem to get the controls to work. Either through the loader or with the typex_config. It's a shame because that game has some seriously great arcade graphics.
Adultery
I'm working on this today. Please be patient. Have either of you tried Xpadder?

Adultery
So far the launcher has successfully fixed my BlazBlue errors and the game now runs like a champ! No more I/O errors!!! /me excitedI have some more work to do but so far everything seems to be working 100% for me.By the way Han, we're talking about 55GB of games here without SFIV Arcade, which will add another 5 or 6 GB. Adultery
I see they can be remapped in 1.4 for Samurai Shodown too but haven't tried it yet... Can't get it to launch on my rig but it works on my dev machine. Will you try it and let me know if it works mesk?

hansolo77
Well, soon as I get some money together, I'm going to be upgrading my drive to a 1tb. I just got this 500gb as a temporary fix to hold me over till I could afford a bigger one. When I do, I'll get this setup, and probably ScummVM, a whole bunch of Interactive Fiction, and re-install StepMania with all it's gig's of music. PLUS, here in the next few months I'll probably be getting a copy Star Wars: The Old Republic. Been waiting years for it, ever since they announced it.. I loved Star Wars Galaxies so much until the programmers crapped on everybody and decided to make Jedi a starting profession instead of WORKING for it (I almost had it too!). massop
Just a quick update for the person who could not get the samurai showdown controlls working.I managed to fix this by configuring it in the typex 1.4 loader (keyboard keys not joystick).Because I setup my Taito type X without the loader I am only using the "typex 1.4 loader" to configure games that do not work then exporting the settings to my original setup (.lnk's to te actual ROM launcers)Hope that helps. DJ Infinity
I am building a new system just for this stuff. So far I have a i5-2500k processor. This motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131702&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Motherboards+-+Intel-_-ASUS-_-13131702 and 8GB of RAM. Need help on the video card to achieve full frame rate on SSFIVAE. I would like to have a ATI card because it carries sound thru HDMI. $350.00 tops spending limit. Thanx
Adultery
$350 for just the video card? Really? I would kill for that budget!!
DJ Infinity
Between Board, Processor, Memory & power supply I have $650.00 in it already. what graphics card are you using.
Adultery
I use an ATI HIS with 1gb DDR3 PCIe 2x which works great for me but may be a bit less than what you're looking for.
DJ Infinity
One more thing. I just thought about. I might not be able to use Win XP ugh. However on my one desktop station than runs a i5 processor and a P55 SLI MB and ult Win 7 64 Bit. Stuff seems to run ok even the crashy KOFMIRA. I might have to cut back on the vid card expense to get a OEM copy for $150.00 I have a bootleg copy installed on a machine and shit just crashes. DJ Infinity
Would a Radeon HD 6870 do tha trick?
Adultery
I looked at these too when I was building and decided it was a bit out of my range, but I like ATI stuff and I'd be more than happy with that.
DJ Infinity
Well with that being said. I think I'll hop over to Fry's when I get off and start building tonight. I wish there was a way to check supported OS. I did some diggin' My M/B will take XP with SP2. I hope the Video Card will also because I'll make it a dual booter in a month or so. Draco1962
DJ - nVidia has some cards out that also carry sound through HDMI. Getting to be pretty much standard. I have a Galaxy GeForce GT 440 with 1GB DDR3 on PCIe that does this. Cool card actually since it supports HMDI vid/sound, DVI out, and VGA out. Adultery
Isn't that more RAM than XP can handle anyways? I thought the cap was 4GB, but you're dual booting anyways.Big plus is if you want to beef up your video capabilities later that card supports CrossfireX. You can buy and install a 2nd one (depending on your board of course) and probably cheaper when that time comes.@Drac: my video card runs HDMI natively. How do I know if sound comes over the HDMI or not?
Draco1962
Question? Why dual boot XP when you can run a virtualized XP mode session within in Win 7 X64?
DJ Infinity
I'm ol skool like that. And I don't like the virtual thing. Plus it makes you look like a badass to the less computer savy to make a dual booter.
