bclinton Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I really like the Gameex attract mode but sometimes as its going into a demo it will give me a few error tones then back to Gameex. I have Gameex set config set up to play a random one. How do you guys handle those? It's not a real big deal but it would be good if when it went into attract mode it stayed there until I escaped. Thanks
Draco1962 Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 It is possible that it is trying to access a ROM that is not playable. I have mine set to display games from my Favorites only and have no issue.
Adultery Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I have this issue only once in a great while, but I use GameEx filters to pull out those roms which do not run in MAME.
celly Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I use the attract mode with only MAME games in my favorites. A couple of reasons, some emulators open and run differently (i.e. No$GBA and No$Zoomer with DS games) than just MAME. Also if its your favorites, you know that there isn't a surprise no working rom popping up. And in a way, you can pick and choice based on your favorites, what games appear.

I always thought it just played the avi file but it actually runs the game with Mameui to show the demo.....

Adultery Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 You can set it up to play the AVIs too I think. But for me I don't run other emus in attract because I love the info bezel GameEx shows for MAME games. If this could happen in my emus too that would make me switch over.

I had mine doing that but it would play Donnie Brasco right after Galaga. Not as cool as it sounds. LOL!
