Hi, I have all the necessary ROMs for the latest version of MAME and should have setup MAME properly through the GameEX Wizard. When I'm updating the list in the GameEX software, not every ROM is being shown in the list. Mainly only light gun games instead of all the ROMs that I should have in my list. Any help please? I'm completely lost. Thanks

Hello all, I do have 2 quick questions been searching here in the forum also in my gameex setup wizard exe and not luck, 1- How to add more time to video snaps between videos? Right now I believe its like 5 secs or something how to edit that number to add more time. 2- How to disable Genres from showing. I do have lot of games and some times kids press it by mistake and it takes too long to load since a lot games and emulators so how to disable? others info: I do have Gameex Arcade edition because I was thinking only to use with arcade games (MAME) , i really like it and ended adding all my other emulators, and now its my main Frontend, but the problem is I see its missing lot features not showing in the wizard setup since its the Arcade edition its limited so that way its less complicated and lighter correct?, but anyway to get to those settings maybe direct from the original config file itself, thanks in advance. i added the pictures. to show you items to be changed thanks..

Hi everybody, I have a little problem, I first used emumovies sync to download all artworks and videos snaps for my systems, then I try to use gameex auto downloading feature....but it seems that both are not using the same folder naming convention. One is using '_' between words for example as the other is using spaces. And Gameex Evolution seems to use is SYSTEM_NAME variable to create folder like [console handled] Sega..... I am a bit confused now, why not using the same naming convention and is it a way to change gameex conf (specially with gameex evolution) to be synchronized with emumovies ? Thank you for your help

Hi All, Thought that I would post up a video of my latest project, up until now I've only used PinballX for Pinmame cabs but having bought an old Skillball cabinet with a vertical display I thought that GameeX would be the way to go. Here's a video of the complete project: ...and a few pictures too. I need to make the usual thanks, particularly to Jukedock for the controller and jukebox knowledge, Phil for making the bespoke plastics and Mike for making me the touchscreen. This time I managed to get through this by reading the forum and I didn't need to ask any questions - that's a tribute to the group. As for Tom's work and inspiration from posts by Draco and many others, well you all know that you are legends, thank you.

What is it? It's an Xpadder plugin for GameEx, silly! Seamlessly integrate Xpadder with GameEx with just a few simple clicks. Set the path to your Xpadder.exe, select your emulators from the drop down list, then set up your controller profiles. When GameEx runs the emulator you select, the magic happens in the background. No need to worry about .bat files or messy LaunchBefore/LaunchAfter commands. Say farewell to blank Xpadder profiles! This plugin handles the launching, the closing, and the profile switching quickly and easily without the hassle. If you use Xpadder, you'll love it! /end sales pitch How do I use it? It's simple really. Here's the rundown: Create your Xpadder profiles, or use your existing ones. Unzip the PLUGINS folder to your GameEx directory. Launch the Plugin Manager from your GameEx start menu folder. Point the plugin at Xpadder.exe Select the emulator (or GameEx interface) from the drop-down list. Browse to your Xpadder profiles. Click "SAVE" Click the "EDIT" button next to the profile to load it and edit it from the configuration screen. Play your games! Check the box to leave Xpadder running when GameEx exits Check the box to enable using blank Xpadder profiles instead of killing the process Questions or comments? Simply put, it's a plugin for virtual drive loaders. It currently supports Daemon Tools, Alcohol, and Virtual Clone Drive natively. The plugin also supports GameEx's Roms In 7-zip and Roms In Subfolders options, making it your only native choice for these features if you use them. Some other features for the plugin include: Emulator Specific Setup Select the emulator you wish to use the loader on from the drop down menu Set up your mount and unmount commands If you don't have this set up the fields will populate based on found mounting software Headless Mode Add switches to the GameEx emulator command-line to bypass the emulator configuration Using [DTLOADER] or [DTOOLS] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default drive Using [DTLOADER-SCSI] or [DTOOLS-SCSI] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default SCSI drive Using [DTLOADER-IDE] or [DTOOLS-IDE] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default IDE drive Using [ALCOHOL] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default Alcohol drive (both 52% and 120% are supported) Using [CLONEDRIVE] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default Virtual Clone Drive drive Using [MAGICISO] or [MAGICDISC] in the emulator's CL will mount using the default MagicISO/MagicDisc drive NOTE: If you installed these programs using the default options, no setup is needed for Headless Mode to work Any questions or comments? Feel free to ask 'em. I also like feature requests and very much appreciate bug reports (these are especially helpful if you also attach a copy of your log file in the GAMEEX>PLUGINS>DT LOADER folder). What is it? It's a plugin to take official snapshots of your MAME hi-scores for the GameEx Hi-Score Competition. This tool saves some leg work of having to type the same data everytime, and overlays some information and artwork to make it harder to fake. The overlay contains your username, initials used, MAME version, GameEx version, ROM name, and Override Mode (if used). Just take the snap and upload it to the game's competition thread. How do I use it? The configuration is really simple, just type in your user name and initials. Everything else is automatic. This plugin downloads and uses a centralized gameslist which is updated with the Hi-Score Database. As long as you have an active internet connection, you will always have the latest game list available. Offline users can download the gameslist.txt from here and place it in the GameEx>Plugins>HiScore Snapper directory. The plugin only enables itself for games that are in the database, so there's no effect on your MAME games at all. Just take a snap of your high score by holding [sHIFT+HOME] (I have a hotkey set up for this in Xpadder and it's working great! You can take many pictures in a row in the case of blinking hi-scores). I also added a camera shutter sound effect that plays when the snap is taken, so you know you got it. The snap is then overlaid with the artwork and information in the picture, and you can come upload it to the thread when you're done. You can set several options from the Configuration screen, including: User Name This is the username you use for all your leaderboard entries. The global leaderboard depends on this! Initials The initials you type into the game for your hi-score Snap Directory All your snapshots will be saved into this directory. By default, they are saved in the plugin's configuration folder located in GameEx>Plugins>HiScore Snapper Image Size Specify the height and width of the snap with these values. By default the size is 1024x768 Image Type Choose to save your images as JPEG, PNG, or GIF The images are saved in the root folder specified, with a subfolder for the game name. The physical file name is generated based on a time stamp of when it was taken. To view the last game snap you took using the plugin, click on the preview image in the lower right corner to open a viewer window. There is also a status strip at the bottom of the configuration form that will show what version of MAME you currently have set up in GameEx. There's a small catch though. Here's the rub... I can't seem to get pictures from D3D without a great deal of extra work (the snaps all come out black). So unfortunately I have decided that the only way I can support D3D snapshots is by having the user compile their own version with DirectInput enabled. The process really isn't that difficult, and helps with adding support for things like Xpadder compatibility to your build. UPDATE: As of 1.0.3, you no longer need to worry about renderer changes. MAME Mode supports all renderers that MAME supports instead of forcing DirectDraw. I found a bug! What do I do about it? If you have questions, suggestions, or bug reports, please direct them here. Thank you for your support! -

It's a Plugin Development tool that does some logging of plugin data. If you need to know what event is triggered when, this tool is your friend! You can log everything, only events, only menu changes, and only inputs with a check in the appropriate box. Select the option to log GameData if you're tracking the GameExInfo variables, and select the UI Timer option to log GameEx timer ticks. I've been using this plugin for a while so I can learn my way around GameEx's PlugIn system, and I added an interface for the end user so you don't have to struggle to learn the ins and outs like I did my first time. Visit the official RELEASE THREAD for questions or comments. -
I wanted to report a Bug that I found on Gameex. I made a video to show the problem. Gameex is started normally. I enter the emulator folder and choose any of the systems. In the video I made, I chose the "MEGA DRIVE" system. Once inside the chosen system area, if I want to maximize the screen by pressing "ALT + ENTER" the screen is maximized, but two errors appear. The first is that the background screen disappears giving way to it an image belongs to the file "emubak.png". The second error is that the navigation keys that go down and up in the game list are moved from place to place (first it was on the left / bottom part of the screen and after the error happens these keys invade the part where the list of games is, as can be seen in the video). The gameex is configured to maintain the current computer resolution. My computer is at 1920x1080 resolution. My monitor has the same resolution capacity. And I currently use a theme that also has 1920x1080 resolution. I had reported this problem a long time ago. I thought that future updates would fix them, but that has not happened to this day. I would really like the developers to take a look at this issue. It is not something that brings problems to the functionality that the gameex is intended for but really irritates me. log.txt GameEx.ini

Here's a list of features so far: The plugin keeps track of total time played for that game, and session time played. The timer view alternates every 60 seconds. There are two main views which rotate every 5 minutes. The first displays the following Game Title Snap Game Name (or ROM name if you don't use a database for said system or no entry is found) System Name (your emulator's Title Text setting) Developer and [YEAR] Category If either of the previous two is unavailable, Number of Players is displayed The second display includes Game Name and System Name in addition to the following: In Game Snap Last Played Data (This is the last time you played the game with the plugin enabled) and [Overall Play Count] Game Description if available The current time is displayed in the lower right corner Text now is measured against screen length and scrolls to accommodate long info (No more auto ellipse!) Game Info Plugin - 1.3.5 - Game Info (In-Game) Jukebox Info (Last.FM patch enabled) Demo Videos WHAT IS IT? Have a secondary monitor? This plugin displays some game info on a banner on the bottom of the screen. If you use GameExtender, there's a light transparency on the form so you can see the image below it as well. HOW DO I USE IT? Simply set (or don't set) your extra options via the Plugin Manager's configuration, or use the command lines outlined below. You can also skin the Game Info interface to suit your tastes since the 1.0.7 update. It's simple really... Themes go in the Game Info/Themes folder. A green "check" next to the list indicates the theme is the one applied for GameEx, and a red "X" indicates that it isn't. Press "APPLY" on any theme to start using it. Click on the "PREVIEW" image to get an idea of what it will look like in GameEx: WHAT DOES IT DO? Alternately you can Download @ Community Download Portal, or using the DracLabs Plugin Downloader software. NOTES: The font included doesn't have special language chars, so I'm not entirely sure how it'll work for you if you don't use English. I'm interested in seeing snapshots in the case of foreign languages though. If you wanted the Last.FM features, you can download the patch here. This will modify the way the plugin behaves with the jukebox, and is a huge addition to the cool factor. Check it out! CHANGELOG

Good night people. Through Autoit I have created files with .au3 extension on my computer. each .au3 file has a series of commands to run a specific game. I put all these ".au3" files in the roms folder however the gameex can not see these files showing me an empty list. What should I do to have gameex recognize such files? I tried to add the ".au3" extension in the "rom filter" field but it also did not work. 1) Can anyone tell me how to make gameex run these different scripts? 2) What command line should I use in this case? This would work: "[ROMPATH] \ [ROMFILE]"

I have done a few searches and either I am not looking in the right place, I'm not scrolling down far enough, or I have something that is not working correctly. I have been running Gameex for a little while and am now beginning to customize the front end system but I can't figure out why I can't seem to find the "download theme" area in the "setup". I know it is SIMPLE, but I have spent hours looking and have finally given up. I'm SURE it's going to be one of those... "if it were a snake it would have bit me" types of things. Please help THANK YOU!

I downloaded and installed GameEX Arcade after forum comments and watching the video on the main gameex page. It shows a screen with wheels. It also shows games like 1942 with a full movie when the wheel points to that game. And last, in some screens there is a menu across the top that shows among other things "change view". Does that change themes? I don't see that menu anywhere. Is there a tutorial or can you help me duplicate that to see how it works? I would just need whatever theme is used and a little help on how to use it and the graphics/video for one game like the 1942 so I could set it up myself. I found where the graphics are stored and see in the menu for "golden age games" a wheel setup with one logo for afterburner and a snap video. Thank you.

I'm trying to run the XENIA and CXBX Reloaded emulator games through gameex, but the command lines I use do not work. I tried searching the internet but could not find it. Could someone pass me the command lines of these two emulators? already tried these lines: Cxbx.exe ""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"" Cxbx.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" xenia.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" xenia.exe ""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]""

Hi, after reading the thread about ePSXe I was able to get that running (finally). However I cant quite get Nulldc running properly. It lists the games, but when I select a game I just launches Nulldc, but not the actual game. Ideally, it would just launch the game without me seeing the Nulldc interface, but at this point if it would just launch the game that would be great. I have included my config file for your viewing pleasure. Nulldc.txt

Hi, everybody I am using gameex vor several years now and really like it. I have been able solve practically all my issues so far. That said, there’s one remaining: For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to start the jukebox with a button on my control panel. All other jukebox controls are fine once I started the jukebox in the menu (including play/stop). Also, if I configure gameex to start playing music after startup it does so as expected. I just don’t want it to pay music every time it starts. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance

I have been using GameEx AE with all of my arcade builds and all of the sudden when I buy 5 AMD Processor PCs it doesn't work. Am I missing something? I'm sure there's a simple reason I'm getting this error, here's my steps. 1. Brand new install of Windows 10 64, updated. (i5, 16G ram, basic nvidia card) 2. download GameEx Arcade edition, install. 3. receive a message that windows wants to install .Net 3.5 (includes 2) 4 after .net install completes I re attempt GameEx arcade. 5 install runs without error I start GameEx. 6 I see the wizard. when I advance to the "input settings" section I receive an Unhandled Exception. I have tried regular edition, uninstalling and reinstalling .net and gameex. again I'm sure theres something basic I am overlooking. Hi Guys, i would be interested in becoming a lifetime subscriber to GameEx so I can have access to the FTP. But I am a little bit worried if it provides a better user experience than using a google picture search. So I hope some of you subscribers can enligthen me. For example in the PinballX Game List Manager, if i press the search Button as a non-subscriber I will find artwork for most classic VP tables. However there is nothing for PinballFX 2 (3) or Pinball Arcade. So how is the experience if I subscribe? I know there are artworks available for these tables but would they show up in the search of the interface for me to select directly? Or do I need to manually connect to the FTP download everything and then locate the stuff from my Harddrive? (That would be like the google experience) Thank you for your insights!
