Hey Guys, Asus rampage formula x48 4gig Hyperx Ram 1044 intel xenon 5.5ghz arcadevga 3000 corsair 430psu WG Arcade monitor 15htz Sorry for my exsessive posting just trying to put the finishing touches on my unit. I have purchessed an Arcadevga and the picture is awesome but i am stuggling to get mame to use the correct resolutions. It seems that mame will not select a resolution even when i have it set to auto ? It will defualt to whatever i have my desktop res set to, Is there away to get mame to select the correct res or a tool to work out what the res should be and to set them for each game? Or what the best res for 80% of games should be? EG if i have desktop set to 240x240 1942 fits awesome. then if i load 1942 counter atack its zoomed in and missing top and bottom. Please help me pulling my hair out!!! Ah thanks i feel like such an idiot, went in and created a mame config using mame.exe -createconfig and set it to 0 in there and was raging at it for like 15 minutes. overlooked the fact that it was right there all along down the bottom in mame settings under advanced! Thanks for you help resolved!

Okay so i just fully reinstalled windows gameex etc to have everything nice clean and fresh on one very nice HDD Now i am using the below. Asus Rampage formula x48 Intelxenon at 5.5ghz Hyper X Ram 1044 Arcade VGA 3000 2TB HDD Corsair 430 PSU WG Arcade Monitor What is happening is when i load into a mame game the game loads perfectly runs beautifully however i am getting mame in the middle. And on the left and right of it i have MAME displayed and Gameex logo either side. Anyone else have this?

I have found if i remove these switches everything boots okay. -videoddraw -nohwstretch -switchres However the website claims if i do not use these switches in mame i have wasted my money as i am not using 1 to 1 pixel mapping. where should i go from here guys? little bit confused :S

Hey Guys, So I decided to move to a true graphics card for my cab in the hope it would make the world of difference. However after installing the card even Gameex menus run slow where as before they were lightning fast? And now when i select a mame game it goes to load then quickly flashes back to the information screen right before launching the rom. My computer specs are Arcadevga3000 (previously a crap x550) Asus Rampage formula x48 Intel Xenon 5.5ghz dual core Hyperx ram 1044 4gb Rampage sound card Corsair PSU 2tb HDD x 2 Windows 7 64bit So i am at a bit of a loss here as to what might have happened ? or as to why it runs like a dog. Anyone had similar issues with one of these? Also in my settings according to Ultimac they say to do the below (source http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainst.html ) My question is should this be enabled and the arcade vga section be set to off or should it be set to on and this shouldnt be put in mame settings? or should both be set? By default MAME is configured to stretch and re-process the picture to fit on whatever resolution your PC happens to be running at. YOU DO NOTWANT THIS TO HAPPEN because using the ArcadeVGA card you can have un-distorted video with a one-to-one pixel mapping. The basic changes you need to make are: HARDWARESTRETCH MUST BE OFF YOU MUST USE DIRECT-DRAW NOT DIRECT 3D SWITCH RESOLUTIONS MUST BE ENABLED The command-line switches to do this if running Mame from a commandline are: -videoddraw -nohwstretch -switchres Post config in a seconds

Hey Guys, I am new here and sorry to make so many threads. just finished my ps1 emulator and was about to start my xbox emulator when i looked down at my arcade control panel and went oooo dear. So not sure if i have enough buttons/ well sticks for that matter Has anyone setup an arcade cab and got a good working layout for controls ? my control ill upload a pic of my panel (please not its not painted or cleaned lol and waiting for my extra buttons to come in the post ) My main question is games like GTA you use a stick/dpad for waling and a stick for looking around, any ideas how i can achieve this ? hrm i think i am going to go with epsx unless somone knows how i can remap the left alt key as i use a ipac and its defualt that as all the emulators use it (mame) has anyone remapped this sucsesfully ? I know epsxe works okay with it

Hey Everyone, I am setting up my emulators one at a time and today i am doing my playsation. Now i had a quick muck around and i struggled. I trolled the forums and i found mixed results as to what is the best emulator. PSX or EPSX I have both in a running state out of game EX. I would like to run my roms from compressed 7zip files to save space. They both seems easy enough to configure i am just stuggleing to get them to run, ill post my config in a minute gunna have another crack at getting it going.

So no one had used one of these? $80 seems like alot for such a primitive card not sure i wanna fork out for it if im not going to gain anything more other then native 15hz res, which soft32 can provide

haha no, it runs gauntlet legends at full speed and that was the intention with no crashes . Also i wanna play new games on it like Fear 2 using my Namco Recoil guns as the mouse and the joystick to move. I will be uploading my build as it nears completion it will not disapoint i am sure.

Looking to buy the Performance Enhanced RV630 512Mb Version, However is this worth the money anyone used one? Pros? Cons? Was looking at either this or a Gtx260 or higher IS the only pro about this card the fact that its native 15htz ?

kool, having a play around with everything atm, been building the controll board for my arcade recoil guns, have a set of namco. The are modular once i get my new arcade monitor ...... well then i shall upload some pics. Its an Original cab i am restoring it was a Karnov 1987 came from the states was imported to Australia in the 90's The replacement monitor will be the same as before a WG-k7000 Its a hell of a build. it has a 5.2ghz dual core cpu in it 775 on air Intel Xenon and in an Asus rampage formula x48 4gig of ddr2 1044 about to upgrade it to 8gb and am currently working out if i should go with the Arcade VGA from Ultimarc or get something more powerful. Anyone know anything about the Performance Enhanced RV630 512Mb Version is it worth getting? Will make a new thread about it as i am looking at getting one monday.

Hey thanks for that! Well i tryed somthing diffirent this time and under mame settings used mame32 instead of mame and it worked perfectly.... Which leads me to another question. If i install mame mame32 etc Does gameex select the best emulator or do i need to go under emulator section and select it from there. Guessing its the second one but herea to hoping! Will post my cab up soon guys for you all to see im sure it will toss some ideas intoplay. As its very unique. It has modular namco recoil guns i custom fitted Will write a how to on it as my project nears completion
