  1. Hey, Saw a slightly different behavior. GameEx went into attract mode, the monitor got shut off, and windows (eventually, on its own) said that 'an error had occurred'. When I said OK, GameEx returned and then went into attract mode (after 4 minutes) Windows did not catch anything at this point and I let it run. Log attached.... It shows a return from Attract mode, but as I said, this is with Windows saying an error had occurred (no specifics)... I eventually had to reset the machine as attract mode would not exit and the screen would not power back on, even with <ESC> being typed a whole lot (should have exited from GameEx...) VR, B log.txt
  2. Hey, The reason that there is no revert from attract mode is that when the log says that the display is shut down, the display get shut down and nothing I can do will wake it up. I can occasionally hear the hard drive getting accessed, but the display never comes back (I have a full keyboard plus an ipac with standard layout) I have no choice but to hit the reset button, once attract mode has been enterred. Have I missed your question, in some way? Instant sheller is currently not installed ( i wanted to get attract mode running before I tried that) Windows 7 never screen saves, or removed power form the monitor. The attached log from above shows that GameEx shut-down the monitor when starting attract mode... 21:21:37.0 3/2/2012: Starting Attract Mode 21:21:37.2 3/2/2012: Shutting down display ...Is there some simple way of preventing GameEx from shutting down the display? Thanks, Bruce
  3. Hey, Still having the same problem. I left the Windows 7 system up all night with just the main screen up, to see if the monitor ever shut off... It didn't I only have 2 favorites, and attract mode seems to cycle between them... but the monitor is always first shut off. The log snipped follows: 21:21:37.0 3/2/2012: Starting Attract Mode 21:21:37.2 3/2/2012: Shutting down display log.txt and gameEx.ini files attrached. This is from a fresh install of the OS (FULL UP Windows 7 ultimate) A fresh install of GameEx Attract mode is turned on, other emulators is turned off and only favorites is selected... Please help... I'd love to give this system to my friend, but I cant give a gift that hangs and needs a reboot if you leave it alone for 4 minutes... Thanks, B log.txt GameEx.ini
  4. Hey - Just a quick update. Going to the 'favorites only' completly helped the problem(attract mode worked non-stop for 4 days) , until I used instant sheller (this system is a gift to a friend in a new cabinet) to get rid of windows.... then the same old thing... on the next reboot, the system would shut down the monitor when it should have been going to attract mode.... I have erased the hard drive, re-installed the OS, re-set the power settings to 'never' for the monitor and am re-installing GameEx as we speak. ..Could instant sheller be doing this? Thanks, B
  5. Hello, thanks for the reply. It is not windows that is doing this. I can just let windows run for (literally) days, and there is no screensaver, no power-down, no monitor turning off, etc... I have let it run for 4 days like this, just to be sure it was not windows. Never a change on the screen and everything always worked afterwards. it is ONLY when I bring up GameEx and let it go into attract mode that this happens. I can turn off attract mode and let GameEx just display weather and time and this never happens (I let that run for a week, just to see if it would ever power off the monitor... never happened).... It is something related to attract mode. Keep the ideas coming!!! Thanks, B
