I have the same issue... full volume in mame directly... low volume when mame is launched from GameEx.... all games.... I can use the tilde and the right arrow to raise the volume as suggested above...... and it works from that mame32 session...... but it keeps resetting to -32 (very quiet) for the next game.... I can see a " -vol -32 " on the launched mame32 command line in the log file. I can add a " -vol -0 " but it still appends "another" " -vol -32 " after it. I can't find where the extra " -vol -32 " is coming from. My gameex version is not the most current. I could upgrade. any other ideas group? >> Update - Searching throught the forum I found another posting from JohnnyG and it fixed the problem. I'm not sure why... but it's fine now: CLIP: The sound was set for Pause GameEx List Audio and run Mame with sound: I just changed it to Pause playlist audio and run Mame with sound and it's bang on now <endclip Thanks Mate! -cupojoe
