assume i have very limited pc knowledge! haha! how do i do what you suggested?! which .ini file? where should it be located? how do i get to the command line?

hi guys... just built myself a cabinet.. 4p with trackball... getting things up and running slowly but surely.. am running gameex.. but cannot for the life of me get the trackball to work with mame!! i am using mame 142b IIRC... 2 mini ipacs.. system uses windows xp... and i am running gameex which i registered last week... most games work good:).. bar the graphics heavy ones... need a faster pc really.. P3 celeron with 256 ram and crappy video card... trackball now works fine in windows.... but will not work with mame... i have "slikstik and ipac" enabled in the setup along with the " no, i want to use the mouse" option... have done a bit of research about adding to the mame.ini file mouse = 1 or something.... but.. i cant find any mame.ini file...!! any ideas?! id love to play centipede and golden tee! help!
