  1. Just a thought.... Have you updated/reinstalled your video drivers? - Give that a shot
  2. I have x-arcade with USB on Winodws 2003 Advanced Server There is no sluggishness that I can notice X-arcade is notorious for the sticking in 1 direction syndrome but I dont think sluggish is due to the x-arcade itself Unless it has a few keys stuck that are being detected and are not programmed into mame and just filling the kyboard bufffer
  3. No you dont have to. If you provide something to mame via the command line - it will override teh stored setting with your new value Say in mame32gui - you set your video to Direct 3D...but in Gameex you provide these parameters: -video ddraw -nohmwstrech It will use Direct Draw because you specified it If you only provided this for the paramters -nohmwstrech ...it would Direct 3d like you setup within Mame32gui itself

    800MB Cd-R?

Well if you wanted to and have the time you could down sample the audio and video on the CD If you take the movie off the disc that is 100 meg (25 frames per second) and re-encoded it to 20 frames per second - you could keep the video an it would be 80 meg Or convert some audio from stereo to mono and cut filesize in half I got the Shenue disk (actual Dreamcast disk) and the Broadband adapter so I can rip Shenmue, if I remember, image on one of the disks exceeded 700 meg (I think it was 800 meg'ish) Thats when I found out about down sampling and *But not everything can be down sampled - I was struggling with making the image smaller, it fell off my project list Also if anyone is looking to bug a Dreamcast BBA to play across the internet - only a few games utilize internet capabilities and even fewer utilize the broadband adapter. They assume you have dialup and wants phone number and ISP info...bah But I luv my Dreamcast Here is my collection currently 100 Swords (jap) 102 Dalmations Puppies to the Rescue 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker 4 Wheel Thunder 4x4 Evolution 90 Minute Football Soccer Action Replay Aerowings 2: Airstrike Air (Jap) RPG Airforce Delta Alien Front Online Aqua GT Armada Army Men Sargeâ??s Heroes Atari 2600 Emulation Atari Anniversary Edition Atari800 Emulator AtariST Emulator Bang! 5. Grab the c:\program files\gameex\logs\log.txt file and post it in here It should contain a clue...or its at least the first place to start looking
  6. Have you checked THIS out?
  7. Make sure you are not using some NORTON something or other that is recording changes to your environment Do this START -> RUN -> and type MSCONFIG Click on STARTUP tab and disable anything you dont need or cant recognize *write them down before applying Then reboot I dont have virus protection on my arcade machines...I "filter" what goes on them on other machines Keep that OS pure and basic...so power/performance is available Hopefully food for thought or something /|\
  8. now THAT is nice....period
  9. Thats a feature of MAME - not GAMEEX I dont see a way to save that (per rom) in Mame *doesnt mean it cant be done Might want to ask that question at www.mame.net
  10. Perhaps the computer is over heating I would turn on TASK MANAGER Click on PERFORMANCE tab and expand it across the screen to get a view of a long collection Minimize TASK MANAGER and start you ZINC game Run it for about 5 minutes or so - then quit ZINC Now maximize TASK MANAGER Was the CPU pegged at 100%? If not - look at the Windows event viewer and see if any errors in there occured about the last time you froze up What kind of computer do you have? Specs? ...I am guessing it is heat related
  11. Yes - I am assuming you are using XP Take 1 machine - call it the primary machine Connect up harddrive Click on START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - ADMISTRATIVE TOOLS - COMPUTER MANAGEMENT Click on DISK MANAGEMENT Locate your external hard drive and right click Click on CHANGE DRIVE LETTER Set it for some letter that is available to all machines - like Z: Now bring up Windows Explorer and go into drive Z: and reset all your emulators settings to look for roms, snaps, save staes, whatever on drive Z: Now on the primary machine - reconfigure GAMEEX to use drive Z: in all the paths and what-not Copy c:\program files\gameex to your external drive Also get the GAMEEX SETUP.EXE file and save to hexternal harddrive too - speed up installation on the other computers Now bring external hard drive to a new machine and connect up the hard drive Click on START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - ADMISTRATIVE TOOLS - COMPUTER MANAGEMENT Click on DISK MANAGEMENT Locate your external hard drive and right click Click on CHANGE DRIVE LETTER Set it for Z: Run GAMEEX SETUP.EXE from the external harddrive and let it install the needed files and whatever it does in the registry Once setup - copy the Z:\program files\gameex to c:\program files\gameex All things considered - you should be running like you were on the primary machine If you update MAME and add ROMS, or add videos or a new emulator - do it on the primary with the external drive setup. Then copy c:\program files\gameex to the external harddrive...bring that drive to teh other computer(s) and copy z:\program files\gameex to c:\program files\gameex *This way you dont need to rescan each time Hope this helps /|\

The LCD at SAMS is 120 by 8.........too tiny this might be a hard to come by item or a Lucky Dog item...as it may be

Chazz How many Animated Marguess things do you have created? or better yet... Approx. how long does it take to make one? Is there a program that automatically can resize and adjust color levels or is that all done with Photoshop? It would be cool to get "something" to do the bulk work I know the animation part would be the longest - but is there some generic things the LCD can do? -like dissolve a picture in, or slide it in, or spin it in....some built in features? Also, what about the weight and does it put off any heat?

If that works I am going to SAMS CLUB and buying one
