1. Favorites for each emulator or system instead of just one favorites section where different systems are mixed together 2. Custom attract mode where specific games can be selected instead of only favorites (I don't want some favs in my attract mode)

In GameEx, is there a way to specify which games you want to display in the attract mode screensaver? Right now, I have it set to show my MAME favorites. This works well, but I don't want some games showing during the attract mode because they aren't that "attract"ive. I'd like to pick and choose which games I want to show. Even better, I'd like to pick and choose games across multiple platforms/emulators. Is any of this possible? (I don't want to use videos instead because they'll take up too much space at full screen res.)

I just tried it, and it gave me a bunch of black screens for snaps. Some had visible graphics, but most were completely black. Why, I have no idea. I also tried "create videos", but I had no idea how to get that to work. Nothing told me how to start or end videos. No idea.

I paid for GameEx and an Emumovies subscription. I've gotten all of the artwork and snaps (.png and .avi) I can, but there are still some games missing snaps. In some cases, it's because the rom and snap file names aren't identical. Ok, I can fix that. In other cases, snaps don't exist at emumovies (download service and FTP). So, what's the easiest way for me to fix this? Pay $37 for FRAPS and then use another program to compress the files? That doesn't seem worth it to me. Use the create snaps feature in GameEx? Well, that won't let me make snaps for specific games, only ALL of the games in that rom folder, and only at a pre-determined time interval, which, more than likely, won't give me what I want. I tried it once and got lots of useless snaps. Is the next best option to try to make all the snaps within the emulators themselves?

I didn't mean separate .exes for each emulator. That I understand. I mean the separate .exes in my GameEx folder. There are too many. Ideally, there should be one that handles everything. For instance, one .exe that, once executed, has a different tab for each type of configuration.

I paid for GameEx, but, before that, I was trying it out to see if it was worth it. I almost gave up while going through the setup. I've been using emulators since '98, obviously, and have an IT job, but I was having trouble understanding how it was supposed to work. Is an effort under way to make it more user-friendly and/or to eliminate all of the separate .exe's in favor of creating a single stream-lined interface? The only other frontends I've ever used were MAME32, MAMEUI, and Maximus Arcade. GameEx is better than those and has more features, of course, but it's also less user-friendly during setup/configuration. I took a look at HyperSpin videos but was turned off by the wheel and the crazy graphics flying everywhere, so I didn't try it. GameEx is my choice, but I wish it was less cluttered and easier to use.

It's set to "1 Click To Play Any Song." Clicking on it makes it load up and play, but I want a preview. Is there an easy way to do that? Can I make preview videos and treat it like an emulator? If so, what's the best way to make the videos?

Yeah, they're probably videos. I read a thread from 2009 involving someone named Tempest, and the process sounds too complicated for me to bother. Is there a way for me to just hear the MP3 file as I scroll through songs without actually clicking on them?

I already registered GameEx. Karaoke works, but I want the preview to work like I saw in this video: It says "This is a video of GameEx running with song previews for Karafun. I used Tempest's script from the http://www.gameex.info forums."

I recently saw a video where someone was scrolling through his karaoke files within GameEx, and it was playing a preview of each song and CD+G file toward the left just like it plays preview videos for emulators. How can I get GameEx to do this for me? Thank you.
