  1. Thanks Tom, Actually I want the videos too, I just don't want the "MAME All Games" video to play as the background image. Reuben
  2. Hi Tom, bak.bmp is in the directory AND I moved bak.mpg out of the directory, however I still get this error. There must be something else I have to change, no? Thanks, Reuben 23:44:51.4 4/5/2005: Loading graphic surfaces 23:44:53.5 4/5/2005: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING
  3. GameEx makes that the default behavior! Reuben
  4. Thanks, I'll stat there. Reuben
  5. I tried that before even asking here, but then GameEx wouldn't run. The log mentioned an error regarding the images loading. I'll try again, thanks.
  6. Tom, it worked out well, thanks you! I'm using your â??Fun Videoâ? Theme. Is there anyway to keep the blue background image and not have the video play in the background but just on the right side while scrolling? I see the option for black background, but nothing to keep the standard GameEx blue background image. I like the â??MAME All Gamesâ? video, but when it plays in th background it's distracting. Thanks, Reuben
  7. Check the extras page on Tom's site. GameEx It's under MAME videos, you'll need the bitTorrent client which is avaialbe here: Bit Torrent It's a HUGE download 1.2 GIGS. It took me over TWO days to get, but well worth it! Reuben
  8. Hi, I finished the HUGE download of the MAME videos (mame_videos_shrunk). Where do I need to place them to get them to work as pictured in Tom's movie and as he described on the GameEx website? As you scroll through the games each video would play accordingly. Thanks, Reuben
  9. Thanks Tom, Iâ??ll mess with those settings and see if I canâ??t figure it out. If anyone knows what the settings needs to be, Iâ??d appreciate the information.
  10. Hereâ??s a picture of my MAME cabinet and my beautiful daughter Emily. We both love the cabinet. It has recently been â??upgradedâ?? from â??Game Launcherâ? to â??GameExâ?. I will update the picture soon to include GameEx running on the screen.
  11. Looks like the attract mode problem is solved!
  12. Hi, It looks like the attract mode is now working (3.48). All the cmd windows seem to shut down when a key is pressed. Iâ??m not sure if they shut down after each game is shown or only at the end when a key is pressed. A few questions please: 1: There is a feature for ArcadeVGA video when using the Ultimarc card. I have this card in my cabinet, however when I set the feature to YES, and go and play a game like Tempest the game graphics are not sharp, and seem a little squished. When I disable this feature the Tempest graphics are sharp and crisp, and not squished. Iâ??m not sure how to set those other settings under the ArcadeVGA menu item. Should I just leave this feature OFF, even though I have the ArcadeVGA card by UltiMarc? 2: I loaded the â??Video Funâ? theme that Tom put together. I love it, the â??MAME All Gamesâ? video looks so cool on the right hand side of the menu, not to mention the XXX rated one too. However, as soon as I move to the â??MAME All Gamesâ? menu that same video plays at full screen in the background and is VERY slow and slows GameEx down to a very annoying speed. How can I keep the video on the right hand side of the main menu, but not have it play full screen in the background of the game menu? I tried deleting the bak.mpg but that GameEx doesnâ??t run, it claims trouble with images loading. Thanks.
  13. Hi Tom, It seems that when GameEx goes into Attract Mode each game creates a new DOS window. They never terminate, so the PC eventually runs out of virtual memory and a Windows warning pops up. Is there some setting I need to set to avoid this, or is there some change that needs to be made to the runitgame.bat file? I love the screen saver (attract mode) but I'll have to disable it until the issue has been resolved. I'm currently downloading the "mame_videos_shrunk" that you say is very nice in GameEx. It also looks nice on the video you recently posted of your bachelor pad. Where is that setup once I get the complete download? Only 35 hours to go ;> Thanks, Reuben Using ver 3.47 and MAME (Win. Cmd Line Ver. .95)
  14. My whole 'artwork' direcoty is .zip files. Oh well, I'm not sure where I'll miss it anyway. Reuben
  15. Hi, If I leave GameEx running, MAME eventually runs random games as a screensaver, as I set GameEx to do (Attract mode). This is exactly what I wanted, but for some reason, it doesnâ??t exit the game properly, and eventually, so many copies of MAME are running in the background, GameEx crashes, and the system is out of memory or I canâ??t get back to the GameEx main screen. The above is basically a quote from another user; I'm having the same problem. I'm using MAME.95 (regular Win version) and GameEx 3.45. Has this been fixed 3.47? Can I just install over 3.45 and keep my GameEx.ini file, or after install does all the customization need to be redone? Thanks for a Great MAME FE, Reuben
