  1. I'm probably missing something here. I see my modified key mappings in mame\cfg folder, but that doesn't affect the LED settings. I was assuming they were based off of \GameEx\Data\controls.ini. Are you guys saying that by modifing the key mappings within MAME (which produces the key mappings in mame\cfg) that the LED plugin should recoginize the modification. -Dan
  2. I have modified several of the default MAME control settings. I want the LED plugin to light up the modified controls, not the MAME default. I figured all I had to do was to change the controls.ini. However, MAME is still lighting the default controls. What do I need to change to make this work. Thanks -Dan
  3. Still seeing this error with the last 2 upgrades. -Dan
  4. Don't know if this is really the correct place to post this, but as of the last several GameEx updates I always get the following error when I click to upgrade from within GameEx. However, it always seems to install the update regardless of the error. GameEx_Error.bmp
  5. That last two times I upgraded to GameEx, it replaced my LED plugin with an older version. Also, it replaced my LCD.ini file with the default file which wiped all of my settings.
  6. Here is my newly finished cab. You can read about it on BYOAC: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=63718.0 You can also see additional pix: http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/547400186GmfKaX It wouldn't be complete without GameEx running on it. Thanks Tom!
  7. Wow! Looks like everything is working great and it does pretty much everything I want it to do now. Very impressive. -Dan
  8. Hey. The CP makeover looks great. I downloaded the latest version, but mine still says 1.6 beta. I checked and I do have files with todays date. Also, couldn't find any extra buttons for custom assignemnts. -Dan
  9. Whoops. This was supposed to be in feature requests.
  10. Don't know if this has been mentioned before (I was having a hard time using the search option -- It only gave me topics, not actuall messages). Anyway, I would like to see a progress bar when installing a GameEx update. Especially, I'd like to see progress on the download of the update. Thanks, Dan
  11. Thanks! Looks like everything is working for me now. My only question is the animations play very fast when I test them out from the plugin manager. When they run in MAME, they are very slow. Here are my ideas for future enhancements: 1) Ability to have certain inputs always on (I mentioned that before) 2) Ability to select inputs to light up while running GameEx. For example, I always want my trackball lit. 3) Ability to turn on selected inputs when launch something other than MAME. This could be a generic setting for all Apps, or you could go to some file based system or something similar that would allow you to control what was set on/off. Keep up the good work. -Dan
  12. It does and it doesn't work. Sometimes when I hit it, the attract mode starts, other times it doesn't. Also, If I select only one attract mode, then hit the test button does it show me just that mode? I'd like to see what exactly each attract mode does. Looks like It will be hard to test the .lwa files until the GGG software is updated. I have restarted my machine and sometimes the attract mode works in GameEx and other times it doesn't. Also selecting games from the list does light up their buttons, but when I launch the game the buttons are not lit.
  13. I figured out some of what was going on in my system, it was PowerMAME. I had it configured for all the LED lighting off, but when you re-load it, it likes to re-enable the LED settings for you. So, my attract mode stuff was actually PowerMAME running. Anyway, I'm now just running MAME32 and I'm back to no attract working at all.
  14. Single. I found some documentation on the .lwa files at the GGG website by downloading the Resident control, animation and keyboard LED emulation software. The software is marked as beta, and there isn't a lot of info on how to setup the files. I'll have to study it for a bit and see what I can figure out.
  15. Currently at 1.69. It is looking really good. Here is what I've noticed. The test attract mode doesn't always work. I'm not quite sure I understand what each attract mode is all about. It would be good if you only have one attract mode selected and you press the test, that it would only test that button. Also, when leaving the configuration, the buttons that you had lit from the attract test stay lit. The coin credit is working, however not all of my inputs are flashing. Also, when I do run attract, it always runs the same attract mode. This mode doesn't have all the inputs lit. I'm thinking that I need to tweak the .lwa files. I'm not quite sure how to set them up yet. Any pointers on where to look. Keep up the good work.
  16. I upgraded to 1.66. I now have the correct buttons lit and the speaking controls work. Also, you fixed the problem on the lighting from the configuring your LEDWiz. Good Job! I still don't get the attract mode to work. Does the attract mode work while in GameEx or when a game is running or both? Also, The Enable MAME Interop doesn't see to save to disk. I only see games controls based upon the controls.ini settings. Are you saying that if a game isn't in controls.ini it will light up what you have configured in MAME? I believe this is how PowerMAME works. For example, Metal Slug doesn't have a controls.ini entry, but when you play the game PowerMAME lights up the controls you have configured in the game. Using the plugin, all the controls for Metal Slug are off. As far as the option for dedicated inputs on, it would be really nice to have the option to have them lit all the time, or lit when in Game Ex. For Example, when launching a game, they would go dark and when you returned from the game they would re-light. For example, I'd like to have my trackball lit all the time while in the GameEx front end. When playing a game it would go out and when I return it would re-lit. If I launched a game such as Centipede then it would also be lit in the game. Another somewhat related cool feature would be to allow a pause button control. When the control is pushed, the control would flash (indicating pause) until the game was unpaused. Thanks for all the good work.
  17. I'm running 1.6 and I never see the attract mode. If I hit the test attract in the plugin configuration it works. Also, when I scroll through a list of games, none of them light up my buttons. If I go back to the configure menu and play with the settings and go back to game ex, it sometimes works for lighting my buttons and sometimes it doesn't (or it lights the wrong buttons). I never hear it speak my button settings. I've also noticed that when you are configuring your ipac inputs it attempts to light the buttons as you configure them. However to make this work you have to click on the button to toggle it to make it actually light up your buttons. For example if you check it, you may have to uncheck it and then re-check it to make it light up. Also, I'd like to request the ability to always have certain inputs lit. I have an exit and pause button on my machine and I'd always like to have them on. Also, it would be nice to have the trackball and mouse buttons lit while navigating the gameex menus. I'm not at all complaining, I know this is in beta and I'm really hoping to use this in place of PowerMame. -Dan
  18. I've got Chankast working on my cab with one game. The game is mapped to my virtual F drive and works fine. When I start Chankast, I simply hit the play button and the game begins. I imported the Chankast emulator settings for game ex and when I go to start my game, it only brings up the sega main menu (play, file, music, and settings). When I select play, it says "insert game disk". I have pointed my ROM path to the physical location of the ISO images (not to the virtual drives). I pointed it to the virtual drive and that didn't work either. Also, I wanted to keep my iPac configured for the default MAME mappings, but it turns out that left alt appears to be the pause key in Chankast. Is there anything I can do, other than coming up with a new iPac mapping? -Dan
  19. I really like the Soul Calibur Theme. I was running the other one on my cab for a long time and I'm downloading the new one right now. Anyway, I have a question that is off topic. What do you need to play Soul Calibur. I've tried it in MAME and it is unplayable. It looks like I might be able to use zinc, but I've never tried it. Thanks, Dan
  20. I turned off the use ArcadeVGA and now the games display as they do when I run PowerMAME32 by itself. What exactly am I giving up by not using those settings? How should the settings within PowerMAME32 be set to take advantage of the AracadeVGA, but not stretch and shrink my games. -Dan
  21. I think so. I new at all of this, but that is basically what it looks like. Everything seem much to big. The game proportions are much to wide for as tall as the game is. Everything looks fat.
  22. I'm running PowerMAME32 with GameEX. When I run PowerMAME32 to play a game, say centipede, the display looks great. IWhen I run it from GameEX, it doubles the size of the graphics on the screen. The screen no longer looks like a horizontal monitor, and looks very fat. Can somebody help me launch games like this to look the way I want them to. I messed with all sorts of settings, but couldn't make it happen. -Dan
  23. I've added two additional emulators (no import file or anything) and for one of them the games list shows the full name of the game. The other only shows the 8 character dos name (which makes it hard to figure out what the game is). How does GameEx know how to expand the name and how do I fix this. -Dan
  24. I did see the L key mapped to something else. I changed it to 19 which shouldl be caps lock. Still no luck. Argh! Any other ideas.
  25. Right now my computer is still on my desktop, so I have a full keyboard. My default in GameEx is mapped to 76 which shows the "L" key. I've started MAME and hit the L key and nothing happens. Am I missing something?
