  1. Yes, I have the Classic unit as well. If you could email it to me that would be great. I'll check my forum settings and make sure they are set so you can do that. Thanks!
  2. I'm in the process of recovering from a hard drive crash on my Dreamauthentics Excalibur system that I've had for about 3 years. My target is nothing fancy, just Windows XP with the command line MAME using the fabulous GameEX frontend that I've always had on it. I registered the first time around but I plan on donating again when I get it all setup and running just because I'm so impressed with all the work that has been put into this product. So at this point I'm about 97% back up and running. Windows XP is done, MAME v 128 with the related roms are installed and mostly configured, and I've got GameEx pretty much up and talking to MAME. I think my remaining problems would be solved by just having access to the Slikstik configuration files that shipped with my unit (yea, I know, I should have had a disk image of everythign before this crash, I'll be doing that this time when it get everything 100%). As a for instance, when I'm in the Configuration untility and it says "Use the below listed devices" I have nothing listed to select. The help files don't really tell how things end up in there, just to select them if you want to use them. I've search the forums and the download area on this site and I'm not seeing anything, and some looking around on the net has revealed that possibly the company that made Slikstick has gone out of the business in the last year? Any ideas where a guy might find such configuration files? Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that tonight and report back the results.
  4. Searched the FAQ and forums and didn't see a hit for my problem. I have a dedicated MAME cabinet that was running V 6.9?, but I just upgraded to 7.01. I have seen this behavior at several release levels for GameEx so I don't think the upgrade is going to fix my problem. Every once in a while, mainly during parties I will notice the entire system getting choppy and unresponsive. When I exit out of Gameex I find multiple Windows command prompts open in the background, all with a path that leads into the GameEX program directory to something called "GameEx.lnk". For as many command prompt windows as I find open, I can see in task manager an equal number of MAME32.exe processes running, all consuming up the available CPU resource between them. I clear out the command prompt window and kill the MAME32.exe processes, but this situation seems to pop up every time the cabinet is used heavily by newbies (or heck, I could be doing this as well). Any ideas if I have something configured wrong? MAME32 is really the only exulator I'm running right now, and GameEX is registered if that makes any difference. My game controller is a Slikstick configuration if that helps as well. TIA, Kyle
  5. You may be running up against the same problem I was having with my Slikstik controller. Apparantly they changed they way the mouse inputs work in the last couple of releases of MAME32 (105 and 106 specifically), and that has caused the default cfg files for the controllers to not function. I dropped my MAME32 back to version 103 and everything worked perfectly, you may have to do the same thing until someone comes up with a new keyboard configuration file. Good luck!
  6. That got it, Thank You sir!
  7. I would like to just remove "Multimedia" from the main menu. I tried disabling everything in that category, but I can't seem to find the disable point to remove "Jukebox" from that list. Where do I find the control to do that in Configuration? Also, will disabling Jukebox remove Multimedia from the main menu selection list? TIA, Kyle
  8. Adding "Pacman" to my list of allowed roms did fix this problem. Thanks again everyone! Kyle
  9. Shaun, I will try this tonight when I get home. I checked my configuration last night, and I already had checked "I want clones" and the Pacman games were not showing up, so I think you are probably on to something with your suggestion. Thanks to everyone that posted, I will report back tomorrow with my progress. Kyle
  10. I searched through the forums about games being filtered from the GameEX frontend, and there is always a suggestion to just turn off filtering. I actually like the vast majority of what is being filtered, but I noticed last night that even the good old "Pac Man" programs are missing from my game list, although they are listed and work fine from the MAME32 frontend. Is there a slight "tweek" to the delivered filter list that will let this one show through? TIA Kyle
