  1. I'd thought about that too, but permissions and security details are open for everything in those folders. I'm listed as the owner of the files and folders.
  2. One last update for the night. I discovered that by deleting gamelist.txt from the DATA folder (and nothin else) that GameEx would force a directory refresh and any new ROMs placed in the directory get detected.
  3. Couple things I noticed that may or may not have anything to do with the problem - when quitting GameEx, it remains running in the background and can only be quit via Windows Task Manager. The second, which is likely more relevant, is that the GameExOnlineList.txt DOES reflect the added ROMs, unlike gamelist.txt, even when the app itself fails to display them. I'm gonna continue to troubleshoot and report back here.
  4. I take it back. So everything was set back up as a fresh install, so I figured, hey, I'll add a few more roms to my folder... And again, they don't show up, nor did the prompt to update the list. I dunno man, I'm vexed.
  5. Yeah. I think I'm good now. I get the prompt to update the list and, except for a few stragglers, the majority of the new roms are showing now.
  6. Well, I decided just to scrap it all and reinstall, so I'm good. Thx for takin a look anyway.
  7. For whatever reason, I never get prompted.
  8. Just for grins and giggles, I emptied the ROMs folder except for one file. When I launch the app, it gives the "scanning folders" announcement and then shows all the same ROMs I had prior, even though none will launch cuz the files aren't there. AND, in addition to that, I deleted the cache and map files in the /DATA folder, but same thing, all those original ROMs show, despite no files being in the folder.
  9. I just added to the line in my ini: DoNotFilterROMS=pacman;splatter;rtype;raiden but I'm still missing the last two that I know are in the folder:
  10. Here's the prerequisites: ini and log files attached. I'm using GameEX 19.26, updated via the app itself and MAME .276 (though the setup wizard and ini both say .145). Despite having deleted the cache files that is so often recommended, the UI wont display a bunch of ROMs I recently added after a long hiatus of using my machine. I disabled verify and a few other advanced features, back and forth, based on suggestions from past forum posts, but still can't seem to get any of the new ROMs to appear in the list, regardless of theme. My directories are dialed in and the rest of the configs seem fine. If I run MAME natively, those ROMs appear in its list and run fine, but GameEx just doesn't wanna load them. Is there something I've missed? GameEx.ini log.txt
