  1. Hi all, I have been surfing the topics and have not found anything that answers my question below... When playing a lot of c64 games, a lot of them require that you press Run/Stop (Escape key) to continue. needless to say whenever i press the esc key it exits winvice back to Gameex. There are no options in Winvice to remap the keys and i haven't found a way to get by this frustrating issue... Anyone got the answer (in laymans terms please) Thanks all. Kipper
  2. Hi, I have my Amiga config files and snap pretty well all set up...I have about 2900 config files that i set up so that people can easily use them in their own systems without having to change the config files at all. I have about 100 more to setup and the Amiga is all finished. Once i get it done i can post it (its about 7 meg). Here is a peek of a sample game. floppy0=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk1.ipf floppy0type=0 floppy0sound=1 floppy1=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk2.ipf floppy1type=0 floppy1sound=1 floppy2=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk3.ipf floppy2type=0 floppy2sound=1 floppy3=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk4.ipf floppy3type=0 floppy3sound=1 diskimage0=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk1.ipf diskimage1=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk2.ipf diskimage2=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk3.ipf diskimage3=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk4.ipf diskimage4=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk5.ipf diskimage5=X:\Dragon's Lair II - Time Warp\DragonsLairIITimeWarp_Disk6.ipf nr_floppies=4 Using an old DOS command SUBST, i created a batch file which starts on bootup, which will assign volume letters to the directories where the actual configs, snaps, rom images, and the games itself so that regardless where you place your games you can always point it to the new drive letters. Obviously the names of the directories will need to agree. I created directory names that show the name of the game itself.. theres nothing worse than the old 8 letter directories that i have seen... UGH!!. If any one needs help etc, let me know Kipper. PS. something was mentioned about the uncompressed torrent being huge. You do not have to unzip the adf images and can specify a zipped adf PROVIDING THAT... the game file itself can remain write protected. Some games need to be write enabled and therefore cannot be in a zip file as winuae will not write to a zipped file.. The Games Directory will only be about 3.2 Gig for all the games
  3. Thanks for the help Headkaze.. still no AVI running, I followed all steps and everything checked out in step 5. By any chance has the files been rezipped and mabbe either missing files or corrupt data somewhere. i didnt keep the original zip file and redownloaded it. the file downloads great and seems to unzip with no errors. The themes directory size unzipped is 53,723,926 (BTW, i also tried in my other computer and same results.. Definately a teaser and a hair puller thanks Kipper.
  4. THanks for the help.. Still no go. I trashed the computer.. installed xp pro sp2, dotnet 1.1, directx 9.0c. brand new release of gameex, unzipped the soul calibur file, selected it and no go.. (also downloaded ffdshow, and no other codecs) avi files play when when double clicking them. Its got me puzzled. I hate it when i cant figure it out especially as i'm an IT Tech. there are no hardware conflicts, no old registry setings that could interfere with this new installation and i didnt import anything fro m the old installation. One thing i notice is when i am in theme picker and i select the Soul Calibur theme there is no icon that appears when i select it, all other themes show an icon. I can't remember if it did show an icon when it worked a few weeks ago. Any other suggestions besides beating the computer with a big sstick. (I'm tempted) THanks Kipper
  5. Hi Tom, Hmm, tried about 5 different codecs, no way, no how will the avi run (Although i can run the AVI's from within windows itself). tried for about 5 hours and give up. I even used an old ghost image of my PC and tried that. I think its broke thanks for the reply though
  6. Hi All, I tried the Soul Calibur theme a couple of weeks ago and it was animated. I went back to the default theme and a couple of Gameex upgrades later i change my theme back to soul Calibur. The theme opens up as a background but there is no animation. I have looked through the config options and the .ini file for a enable animation option and cannot find it. I am using Gameex 6.19 and dotnet 2.0 Anyone know how to get the animation working ? Thanks Kipper2k
  7. looking at the earlier posted config for the BGB emulator it says the following at the botom of the config to run.. (the config itself does work, it is the .ini file in BGB that needs tweaking) # Launch BGB.exe first # Press alt-enter to switch to fullscreen # then press alt-f4 to close emu # emulator will then run fullscreen when launched from gameex you do not need to do this to get it working properly. the way to get it working is to open up bgb, - go to options and uncheck the "pressing Esc starts debugger" under the debug tab. - apply changes, exit BGB - open bgb, right click.. select window size and choose full screen... exit bgb - look in your directory where you installed bgb and you will see a bgb.ini file which looks similar to the following (i am only pasting the top portion, thats all we need) WaveOut=1 WavFileOut=0 Samplerate=44100 8Bits=0 WavFilename=gbsound.wav RecordMovie=0 RecordHalfSpeed=1 LastRomDir=C:\emulators\gameboy\roms RomDir=c:\emulators\gameboy\roms SaveRamDir=c:\emulators\gameboy\save Width=160 Height=144 WinX=360 WinY=300 PauseOnDefocus=0 NoWindow=0 Windowmode=3 FullscreenMode=0 - you can change the size of the game window while maintaining fullscreen mode simply by changing the values in the following lines... Width=160 Height=144 - i changed mine to 480 and 432 respectively and the graphics still look good. The program can be started in full screen mode from within Gameex and exit back to Gameex by pressing the Esc key as per normal. Enjoy
  8. Hi All, I am trying to modify the themes so i can display a picture of the controls when i select an emulated game to play (for instance Amiga, and SNES). Basically i want to leave the page format the same and squeeze in a png/jpg of keys in use etc. I have been playing around with the theme editor and cannot figure out how to create a new item. Does anyone have an in depth help file on the editor (or even a small movie showing basic steps). Also is it possible to be able to create a game description box for the emulated games page like what Mame currently has thanks in Advance. Kipper
