Yeah, same here, the old version worked well... the new one, I cant get anything. I have the drivers updated. I will try forcing it into 640*480 I really loved GamEx, I hope I can get this working.

O.K. A little more info. GamEx runs fine on a computer monitor. The error I get is when I try to run it through my ArcadeVGA to an arcade monitor. The desktop and everything displays perfectly well, but when I try to open GamEx, it gives that error message. I am at a loss on this. It seems like many people have used this with arcadeVGA before.

Hello, A while back I couldn't get gamex to run. I posted a log and had someone tell me it's because I used a tiny xp version of windows. So... long story short, I had no real xp disk as it came on the computer with no recovery disk, I put tiny xp on it and it didn't work with gamex. So fast forward a few weeks, I got a new hard drive, purchased a copy of xp and installed it, updated etc. and now gamex still wont start. I will post a log, and hopefully someone can can help... It looks to me like directx is the problem, I have messed about and tried installing it 4 times with no luck.

I fully understand it's not gamex fault(It would be impossible for a programmer to make things work with any OS, legit or some messed up build), but it's just really frustrating. I had another front end on my cabinet, fell in love with gamex (especially how easy it is to see games in the series, similar games, and search for types of games) but it doesn't just work. (view this next rant (targeted to computer manufacturers) with a grain of salt, I'm just venting...) TinyXP is IMO the easiest way to get a cab up and running if something goes wrong, it may be shady or downright illegal, but by hell I have a licence for xp, it's not my fault the manufacturer was too cheap to give me a real disk. That nice file on my partition is wonderful until a crashed hard drive happens lol. Really though, why on earth would a manufacturer not give you a dollars worth of plastic (a CD/DVD of XP) when you drop your hard earned money for a system? I have said it before, and now that I know how easy it is to build a computer, I will never buy a "name brand" computer again. It's much easier and cheaper in the long run to build it yourself and just purchase your OS direct from Microsoft. I guess it's time to learn "nlite" now haha!

yeah actually... I had a perfectly working computer with xp on it from the factory, something went wrong, no repair disk so I put tiny xp on it... So I am guessing this means I am hosed?

Hello, first off I would like to say sorry for what I am sure is a noob question... I cannot find any info on 3d cabinets like in the demo installation. This was one feature I REALLY wanted and part of the reason I purchased gamex. Where does one find these? I don't see them at emumovies either. Thanks, Mark
