  1. I got sick of it and turned everything off. When I restarted CPWizard everything worked perfectly. So even though it was the exact same files and all, for some reason CPW was not using the new values. All is well now =) Thanks though.
  2. quick update: I have found that it is now always labeling the 4P buttons as the 1P buttons. My 4P button 1 is A and button 2 is S. My 1P button 1 is Z and button 2 is X. The labels over the buttons reflect this, and so do the mappings within mame. So the question for me now is why does CPWizard think A and S are P1 buttons? And for that matter, why it doesn't see any other matches across the other buttons.
  3. Headkaze, thanks for the app. I gave it a shot for the first time today. I've got my layout all setup, and I've matched keycodes from each button to it's MAME counterpart. CPWizard pops up just fine when I pause mame, and it fills out all the game info perfectly. It does not however want to label the buttons properly. In most games, no labels appear. I just tested 1941 - Counter Attack however and it labeled my 4P button 1 as Fire and 4P button 2 as Loop. That game doesn't even support 4 players, and the keys mapped to 4p are not the same keys used by P1 or P2. I am using Mame 1.29 through MameUI32 compiled with No Nag and Hiscore support. And I just got CPwizard today, so it is my assumption that it is the latest version (2.14). I've seen a few mentions of installing a plugin in Mame... but i didn't see that in the quick setup tutorial.. so maybe I missed a step?

    crash on start-up

Thanks for the suggestions man. I had tried several themes. I finally just tried running my drivers again and rebooted and that fixed it =)

    crash on start-up

just installed some new hardware in my cab and I did a clean windows install while I was at it. After reinstalling gameex and copying my old config files back over I got directx error when starting the frontend, right after it attempts to draw the fonts. I have included the log file.

    VIRTUALDRIVE

Well, I would assume so. As I mentioned in my original post, it works fine if I load the iso manually and then launch the emulator. I also mentioned that if I load the iso manually I actually see it loaded in my computer drive listings. I also previously stated that if I check my drive listings after trying to launch from gameex (but before returning from the emulator), there is no iso loaded to the drive. So ultimately gameex is not loading the iso to the virtualdrive. Through my trouble shooting I have proven that the emulator works, the emulator can see the drive, the virtual drive works (when manually loaded), and gameex worked fine when i used closemul to wrap the launch. So the key part that is not working is the hand off between gameex and the virtualdrive. I posted my exact command lines i have tried above, so either I haven't tried the correct command line, or something else is going on.

    VIRTUALDRIVE

hello all. In the release thread for 9.67 I saw some discussion revolving around the use of this feature, although it unfortunately did not answer my problems. Currently I am trying to get this feature to work using SSF, the saturn emulator. After marking my VirtualDrive with a sheep icon, I have found that it is the G drive. I consulted the default emuconfig which stated the proper command line is simply SSF.EXE[-VIRTUALDRIVE-] using this the saturn boots, and goes to the "emtpy drive" screen. I manually went to my virtual drive, right clicked it, went to mount, and chose my rom (an iso file). I then launched SSF manually and it loaded right up. I tried again through gameex, and this time while the empty drive screen was up I switched over to my computer and confirmed that no image was loaded to the virtualdrive. For whatever reason the image is not mounting. I have tried the following commandlines: SSF.EXE[-VIRTUALDRIVE-] SSF.EXE [-VIRTUALDRIVE-] SSF.EXE [-G-] SSF.EXE [G]:\ All of these give me the same result (the image never loads to the drive). A few friends from another board have been having this same problem, so we must all be missing something here. Thanks in advance for the help.

    Song Looping

For me its just a matter of having a quick song (typically from a cartoon or commercial based on a major game in that emulator) playing when you enter a menu. While a clean loop isn't a bad idea, it would still get annoying hearing the super mario bros theme song over and over and over.

    Song Looping

a blank mp3 is a great idea for the ones that don't have songs. Although i'm not sure I can define one for the main menu. So while it would sotp songs from bleeding into emulators, it wouldnt keep them off the main menu. feature request it is!

    Song Looping

Ya, I suppose that is one way to handle it. Although I'm interested in knowing if there is much demand for this, or if I'm the only guy who cares. It would be really nice to simply have a toggle in the config as to whether or not I want looping on. Also - adding the silence doesn't solve the problem of the song playing even when i back out to the main menu. To me, the entire point of having a song play when you enter a menu is because you want it associated with it. having it play even after you back out sort of defeats that. So a toggle to confine the song to the emulator menu it is called by would be really clean.
  12. not sure if this helps - but I had a video card in a laptop go bad and it only caused corruption in directx games for a month, and then one day the whole pc went to shit. so overheating isn't ruled out by that last snap.

    Song Looping

Is it possible to disable song looping when you have music playing in an emulator menu. I have the SMB theme song from the old cartoon play in my nintendo emulation menu, but then it just keeps repeating... and repeating... gets old fast. Also - it continues playing once I drop back to the main menu. only way it stops is if I go into an emulator menu that has a different song defined. it would be really great to be able to "confine" songs to a particular menu.
  14. She wasn't all that great - only serviced about half the town and then got kidnapped by Bowser. what a crock.
  15. Well, first of all my monkey on a dog is much faster than a jalapeño - so it doesn't require the extra protection. Secondly, there are no zombies with strange fascinations for dos launchers here, so I'm safe.
