Update - I solved the immediate problem with a reboot in safe mode and taking gamex out of the startup folder. Got a normal boot that way. Then I booted Gamex and it's ok, but every time I go to the favorites menu item, it tries to force me to do an update and if I accept, it hangs at 25%. So I'm not sure what to do to resolve this.

Hope someone can help with this. I've just been laboriously going through numerous roms to check they work then adding them to favorites as I find each working one. I already had some in there but not many. Probably added another dozen or so just now. When I then went to go into the favorites games menu option to see/play the ones I'd added, I got a dialog about doing an update and pretty much had to as the other controls stopped responding apart from the enter key. So I did it, and it had a progress bar that reached 25% then hung. I left it half an hour and it still hadn't changed. I couldnt bring up task manager, couldn't alt/tab to desktop etc so I had no choice but to reboot the pc. Now, when it starts, it seems to boot windows, but never shows the desktop, it just gives me a blank (black) screen which is pretty worrying after all the time I've spent getting all this working quite well. Can anyone advise what might be wrong and what I need to do? My first inclination since it's failed to boot properly twice in a row is to try safe mode then remove Gamex from the startup list, but I wondered if anyone else has had similar problems with updating their favorite roms list? I know I tried it a week or so back and it also hung at 25% but I managed to get round it somehow. Nothing is working to resolve this at the moment though.... Thanks Jim

First post here and my first cabinet build. Here's how my cabinet started off: This was two side panels from an old wardrobe, a jpeg off google image of a cabinet, and some guesswork. A bit further on now, here it is with steering wheel added. Now you see it: Now you don't: The wheel folds away into cupboard space in the front of the cabinet. Here it is before the decoration/prep work began, pedals & all: This is pretty much how it looks at the moment: And last night's extra mod to enable it to have a hidden keyboard. No keyboard here: Ahh, there it is inside: Folds out past the hidden steering wheel: Fully upright and operational: Not the prettiest mod but it works and is handy to have since my steering wheel arrangement prevents me having a slide out drawer like most people seem to favour. Hope you like it and sorry for so many pics. I originally had mamewah on it, but I decided to try out Gamex and I love it! Registered the other day and am very happy with it. Just trying to get epsxe working to figure out how it can pick up different types of rom files at the moment but I've already got mame/n64/snes all working nicely. Cheers Jim
