  1. I'm glad I put this down for a few days. After bumping up to the latest version of GameEx, media player mode works like a charm. Thank you very much. Yeah... I know what you mean about Linux. When I built my Myth box, the problems were like those Russian nesting dolls. Each time I solved one, it'd spawn another smaller problem which was harder to crack. Eventually you end up quitting out of frustration, and live with what you've got. Thank you again... GameEx is excellent.
  2. As per the documentation, GameEx supports flac. That's the only media extension I use. It can handle 30 albums or so worth of songs, but then it dies, but it still shows it can do flac. Do you have your music on a network share? If so, what protocol do you use to interface the share?
  3. Still no luck. I've found that somewhere between 300 and 500 songs it just won't load. Oh well. I love the game interface and the game cataloging, but I'd like a working music player too. Looks like no shiny game interface for me, and time to build another myth box.
  4. Hi, I love the program, though I was wondering if someone could tell me whether or not I'm just missing something stupid, or I've bumped into a limitation. I've got about 650 albums, or something around 7500 songs encoded with flac on a network drive. In addition to the regular flac codec, I've installed the illiminable directshow filters and softpointer tag plugin so that windows media player knows what to do with them. Windows media player, now happily reads the tags and plays the songs, as does media center. GameEx does not... sort of. If I try and point GameEx at the entire directory structure containing all of the songs, it comes back that it finds no music. If I tell it to use the WMP library, it comes back with no music. However, I've since figured out that if I point it at a single directory with only 5 or 6 albums, with the settings on audio file tags, it reports it fine. The file share is pretty quick, connected via gig links. I can stream multiple DVDs from it without a problem. Is there a known limitation to the number of songs that can be added? Or possibly GameEx is timing out before it can finish getting all of the songs? Does GameEx access the WMP Library each time, or is there some sort of cache file that I could possibly manually load? Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Dave
