  1. I seem t0 have missed the html enable/disable side of things. I didnt think to check in there to enable disable features. I had set 'load radio stations' to NO in the wizard, but not 'disabled' the radio in the advanced config. Same goes for the html enable/disable- i would not have thought to go into the advanced config to find these. How did the advanced config come about? Did it evolve an extra tweaking area after the wizard was written? I still can't seem to remove the news option in the menu, to my knowledge I've disabled every html entry (using the advanced config). I will look into the custominput.ini, it sounds interesting. thanks for the continued help, I've sorted quite a few things now
  2. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate the idea of not using custom controls (to enable both dpad and analog control in the menu).... but if I did that, I'd lose my custom 'back button' (B button on 360 pad), to go back through the menus... (I guess I could use a program to map keyboard keys to the 360 pad though... and set B to simulate a 'backspace' keyboard buttonpress. Font issue.. I've switched back to using Trebuchet for now as I couldn't work out what was causing the glitch. Apart from Radio (which I've set to NO in the wizard), I can't see any disable options for these in the wizard: Config, Start Screensaver, Weather, GameEX homepage & News.
  3. I have a wireless 360 pad to control my GameEx setup. 1) Browsing the UI, i can scroll up and down using the analog stick, is it possible to configure it to also use the d-pad for this? (i couldnt find anywhere in the 'advanced' gameex wizard to hwlp with this. 2) on the 360, the user can often scroll page up and page down by using the L and R triggers on the pad. GameEx offers the ability to hold a button, and then use the analog up and down to scroll by page.... but this is not ideal.. is it possible to config gameex to read the L and R triggers to scroll up and down by page? (ive considered using a windows app to map PGUP and PGDN to the L+R triggers... but wanted to see if it's possible within GameEX first before adding yet another app to my pc. Just thought of something else I wanted to ask, oops! 3) On my main menu, I have: Radio, Config, Start Screensaver, Weather, GameEX homepage & News. I'd like to get rid of all of these. In the wizard, I said NO to Radio, but its still in the menu? Am I able to remove these sections, or is this a VIP/donation feature? 4) I prefer to use Arial font on the UI than Trebuchet MS, but when I use Arial, every capital letter "A" has a strange graphical glitch before it (see screenshot), can it be fixed? greatful for any help.
  4. Following your advice... I tweaked a few settings in the gameex mame advanced settings config to match those set in my stand-alone mame installation, and things seem perfect now. Thanks for the tips
  5. Hello all My first post here so be gentle. Recently installed mame 0.133 on my pc. Most games (even later titles like Alpha 3, MetalSlug) run perfectly without tearing. But I prefer the front-end of GameEx, so I installed that, set it up to run games using my previously installed Mame0.133. But I get tearing now. I've tweaked the 'tweaks/advanced settings' in GameEx config a number of times but it dosen't seem to improve. Is my pc spec simply not up to it? I'd be sad if this is the case because mame was one of the reasons I bought this PC. Spec: ASRock 330, Intel Atom 1.6GHz dual-core, GeeForce 9400, 1GB ram. I checked task manager to observe cpu usage but it never goes anywhere near 100%. Is there anything I can do to reduce the tearing? It's the only thing keeping it from being really enjoyable. GameEx is fantastic by the way.. very smooth UI and easy to use.
