Thanks. I may just set it all up from the setup wizard as I haven't changed the view in 2 years K

Sorry if this has been covered, but my cursory search was not revealing. I have game-ex set up in a MAME machine which works awesome. I was wondering if there was a way to lock the layout the way I have it. My kids and their friends love to play and I think its cool for them to experience the old school stuff but the layout and other things often get changed and some of the little ones have a can get lost in the layout options and have a hard time getting back to the game list itself. Thanks K
  3. i briefly but the computer back on-line and downloaded the lists and figured out how to change the resolution in MAME and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks everyone for the help K
  4. I thought of that but alt tab doesn't bring up any hidden window. Now here is the weird part. I upgraded to the latest version (you guys update fast my other version was only a few days old) and suddenly everything worked. Then I unplugged the network cable and it slowed down again. does gamex need to be connected? I have this machine isolated off my network since I turned off my firewall and anti-virus.
  5. Well configuring GameEx resolutions didn't do anything. How does one set the resolution in MAME itself? If I set my computers display to 800x600 resolution it improves things, but a lot of the games (like mortal kombat seem very small) K
  6. Thanks. I will try the resolution thing. I have already upgraded the video drivers. I checked the log file and there are no errors. I'll look at the time stamps more closely. I'll also try and mirror the setup on my vista machine and see if it has to do with windows 7 K
  7. Hi, I'm a new user to gameex. I have been playing around with it the last few days (looked good enough that I paid). The interface and the games all work great (the snaps are instant). When I exit a game it takes a variable time to get me back to the list. This can be anywhere from 10sec to 5 minutes with the average being about a minute. It does not seem to be game dependent. I have tried playing with the performance tweaks but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I am running a very fast computer. Dual core 2.7ghz with 3gm Ram, but I am also running windows 7. I can run Mala and I don't have this problem so I don't think it is due to MAME. I have to say it takes a lot if the enjoyment out of the experience since I'm not really playing the same game over and over right now. Any ideas? Thanks Paul
