I tried the latest version of Gameex yesterday and it didn't change anything. I updated PixelCade and the problem started, so I then updated LEDBlinky. That did not fix anything. PixelCade works fine other than the Emulator titles. Games work fine, Intro message displays fine and the exit message is fine. I can scroll through any game list (mame or emulator) and it works great. Just not the actual emulator title (NES, SNES Playstation etc.) If I pick an emulator from the list. Let's say PlayStation, I will open the game list, and it displays the name of the game fine. If it gets to a game that does not have a file for PixelCade it will then show the emulator graphic. And if I back out of PlayStation without picking a game the PlayStation graphic will stay on the screen until I pick a new emulator and scroll through its game list. PixelCade is just not getting a command to change to the emulator graphics. But all else works.

I thought about that but cannot find an older version to download and install. The DEV on Discord said he did not have the older versions anymore. He said he would look into running Pixelcade on the newest version of Gameex when he had time. Have not heard back from him yet.

I am having an issue that seemed to start when updating Pixel Cade. When running Gameex AE I no longer get the graphic of the emulator when scrolling through the list of emulators. It works fine once I select the emulator and shows game titles just fine. But it just shows a generic "MAME" graphic when scrolling through emulators. It was working fine before the last Pixel Cade update. I have sent my logs to Pixel cade and also LEDblinky. They think it is a problem with Gameex not sending the command to show the emulator and suggested to reach out to you. log.txt GameEx.ini Pixelcxade System and Debug Info.txt

Just wanted to update my progress with ColecoVision and GameEx Arcade. I got it work by downloading a new set of Roms and unzipping them into a separate folder. Also, a different Bios file. Pointed GameEx to them and it runs fine now. Not sure what fixed it to be honest. I really don't think it was a bad set of roms since it worked fine outside of GameEx. Maybe unzipping them? I tried GearColeco and did get it to work also. But I could not get the ColecoVision controllers mapped correctly. They work great using MAME and my adapter. Thanks again for all the time and ideas. Hope this will help someone else down the road.

Mame may not be the best software list console emulator, but it plays the games I wanted to play pretty well. My vision was to have a seamless experience using GameEx to play the games I wanted to play. And yes, the NES games will run using stand alone MAME without GameEx. Maybe not perfectly, but they do at least run. And I have seen videos of people using NES and Colecovision through GameEx. So I know it is possible. So my guess is that it is something in my setup that is causing problem. I did find a post on here about setting up Retroarch to run through GameEx and will try that route. Thanks again everybody for the help. I will keep you posted if I ever come up with a solution.

OK, I will look into that. It just seems so odd that it works fine outside of GameEX. Was just trying to keep things simple by using Mame for all of the emulators. I went through this with Colecovision and never did get it to work with GameEx. I tried several different emulators. All worked outside of GameEx and none running through GameEx. Was going to ask for help on that next. Oh well.

runitgame says Fatal Error: Device NES Cartridge slot load failed: File is not an iNES or UNIF cartridge image Command line is E:\GroovyMame>mame.exe nes -cart "E:\GroovyMame\roms\nes\arkanoid.zip" So apparently it does not like the Rom, just not sure why.

I just tried vanilla mame through gameex it does not work, but works fine stand alone.

Latest and correct log file. (I hope) log.txt

I thought I had uploaded the correct log file, but I will do it again tonight. Now on the missing bios roms, I can run NES games just fine running GroovyMame directly using its GUI. But not through GameEx AE. I have compared the ROM locations in Mame to GameEx AE and they appear to be exactly the same. I am using a merged ROM set if that makes any diffrence.

It let me upload my backup Gameex.ini. Will this work? No idea why. GameEx.UpgradeBackup.ini
-
My log file uploads fine. But the Cameex.ini will not upload.
-
Unfortunately, I am still unable to upload my gameex.ini and lod.txt files. I keep getting an unknow server error. I have cleared my browsers cache and everything else I can find. Rebooted and still no luck uploading the files.

I tried and kept getting a Server error message. I will try again tonight. Not sure if it was something on my end or your end.

I am having issues with 2 software list systems. ColecoVision and NES. I will ask for help with NES and maybe that will solve my ColecoVision problems. I have set up NES exactly the same as my SNES. I'm using MAME as the emulator for both. Just trying to keep it simple. When I try and run a NES game it just goes black for a few seconds and then returns to the play this game screen. I have tried playing with rom paths, hash info and command lines. All to no success. If I run NES games with stand-alone mame, not through GameEx they work fine. I was trying to upload my config file but am getting a server error. Will try tomorrow.

I'm not much of a command line guy which is part of the problem. Maybe I will try setting up a different emulator for Coleco Vision through Gameex. I was just trying to use it through MAME because it was already set up and working well with all the other software list systems.

I figured out how to make it work, sort of. When I select a coleco vision game through Gameex and it shows the intro screen saying Coleco present Carnival. I can hit the tab key and go into select new system. It brings up the coleco menu and lets me pick carnival and it will work. But I know there is something stupid I don't have right.

I tried to get MESS setup through Gameex and could not get it to work. I could not get it to work stand alone either. The setup info online says there is a UI similar to MAME to set things up but I could not figure out how to get into it.
-
Not sure exactly what you are asking. I picked MESS from the list of available emulators in the Gameex emulator set up. I figured that was the same as MAME. I have set up Atari 2600 and Nintendo SNES emulators the same way. They both work perfectly. Didn't have to change any settings except in the command line I changed MESS.exe to Mame.exe. I have compared the setting from Atari 2600 and SNES to the coleco settings and they are exactly the same. When I run a coleco game from mame directly using the built in UI (not Gameex) they run fine. When running through Gameex they run, but stop at the intro screen saying Coleco presents "Game XYZ". Then try's to show the blue screen where you pick a number 1 - 8 to set skill level. But it only flashes that for a brief time and goes back to the into screen saying Coleco presents "Game XYZ" The log file does not show a problem. I thinks I played the game and exited normally. log.txt

Trying to set up Coleco Vision games to run through Gameex Arcade Edition. Will run fine when using the UI in mame without running through Gameex. But running through Gameex it shows the introduction screen saying Coleco Vision present Carnival and it just keeps resetting and showing that screen. Will not go to the next screen allowing you to pick a skill level to play the game. I have Atari 2600 set up the same way as Coleco Vision and it works fine. Not sure what I am missing. log.txt GameEx.ini

20201011_162542.mp4 How do I tell if gameex arcade is automatically downloading the video background and other files from emumovie? All of my paths verify when checking, except the model 1, model 2 and Daphne folders. But the folders for all the downloaded stuff such as background videos are empty. I have a registered account for emumovies and gameex, and the usermane and password are correct. But after hours of letting Gameex run still no background videos. There are some snaps, cabinet pictures and flyers. And also as I scroll through the menus the screen gets black horizontal lines flash across it. Was hoping maybe that getting the background videos working would fix that.

Ok. My question now is, let's say I want to play an atari 5600 game. I am pretty sure I all the files I need downloaded. All of the bios, system, roms, excetra. I don't see any atari 5600 games listed in my games list on evo. All I have is the arcade games listed. How do I make so I can pick just the atari 5600 system?
-
Maybe a noob question, but I am a bit confused about running MESS through Gameex Exolution. Since mame now includes mess do I need to install a separate mess emulator? And if so, how do I add it gameex evolution? I don't see an option for mess when adding and downloading emulators in gameex evolution.
-
Ok. I got it figured out. It was the default paths. All good now. Thanks.
