  1. I'm not much of a command line guy which is part of the problem. Maybe I will try setting up a different emulator for Coleco Vision through Gameex. I was just trying to use it through MAME because it was already set up and working well with all the other software list systems.
  2. I figured out how to make it work, sort of. When I select a coleco vision game through Gameex and it shows the intro screen saying Coleco present Carnival. I can hit the tab key and go into select new system. It brings up the coleco menu and lets me pick carnival and it will work. But I know there is something stupid I don't have right.
  3. I tried to get MESS setup through Gameex and could not get it to work. I could not get it to work stand alone either. The setup info online says there is a UI similar to MAME to set things up but I could not figure out how to get into it.
  4. Not sure exactly what you are asking. I picked MESS from the list of available emulators in the Gameex emulator set up. I figured that was the same as MAME. I have set up Atari 2600 and Nintendo SNES emulators the same way. They both work perfectly. Didn't have to change any settings except in the command line I changed MESS.exe to Mame.exe. I have compared the setting from Atari 2600 and SNES to the coleco settings and they are exactly the same. When I run a coleco game from mame directly using the built in UI (not Gameex) they run fine. When running through Gameex they run, but stop at the intro screen saying Coleco presents "Game XYZ". Then try's to show the blue screen where you pick a number 1 - 8 to set skill level. But it only flashes that for a brief time and goes back to the into screen saying Coleco presents "Game XYZ" The log file does not show a problem. I thinks I played the game and exited normally. log.txt
  5. Trying to set up Coleco Vision games to run through Gameex Arcade Edition. Will run fine when using the UI in mame without running through Gameex. But running through Gameex it shows the introduction screen saying Coleco Vision present Carnival and it just keeps resetting and showing that screen. Will not go to the next screen allowing you to pick a skill level to play the game. I have Atari 2600 set up the same way as Coleco Vision and it works fine. Not sure what I am missing. log.txt GameEx.ini
  6. 20201011_162542.mp4 How do I tell if gameex arcade is automatically downloading the video background and other files from emumovie? All of my paths verify when checking, except the model 1, model 2 and Daphne folders. But the folders for all the downloaded stuff such as background videos are empty. I have a registered account for emumovies and gameex, and the usermane and password are correct. But after hours of letting Gameex run still no background videos. There are some snaps, cabinet pictures and flyers. And also as I scroll through the menus the screen gets black horizontal lines flash across it. Was hoping maybe that getting the background videos working would fix that.

    MESS in EVO

Ok. My question now is, let's say I want to play an atari 5600 game. I am pretty sure I all the files I need downloaded. All of the bios, system, roms, excetra. I don't see any atari 5600 games listed in my games list on evo. All I have is the arcade games listed. How do I make so I can pick just the atari 5600 system?

    MESS in EVO

Maybe a noob question, but I am a bit confused about running MESS through Gameex Exolution. Since mame now includes mess do I need to install a separate mess emulator? And if so, how do I add it gameex evolution? I don't see an option for mess when adding and downloading emulators in gameex evolution.
  9. Ok. I got it figured out. It was the default paths. All good now. Thanks.
  10. What's weird is that I have done that, but it won't save new path. I can get to the roms folder but I can't get the path to update in gameex. I had to manually type in the path for other default paths. Maybe time to uninstall evo and start over.
  11. ok, looking at my default path for roms I have 'C:\GameEx Evolution\UserData\Emulation\Roms' Inside the ROMS folder there is a folder named MAME that contains all of my roms. In the launch list settings my rom path is this 'C:\GameEx Evolution\UserData\Emulation\Roms\Mame' So why is Gameex EVO looking in 'C:\GameEx Evolution\UserData\Emulation\ROMs\mame\MAME' to audit games? Where is the extra Mame folder in the path coming from. is there a way to edit the path the game audit looks in? Or do I just make a new folder in the Mame folder called mame and move the roms to that? I just don't want to deviate too far from the default paths and cause issues later.
  12. Sorry but I cannot find my Gameex.ini file. I don't seem to have a config folder even. Is it not supposed to be in the config folder?
  13. [GAMEEXEVO_LOGS].7z
  14. I am having problems with getting my games to show up in the game list. I just installed Evo and get an error when trying to audit games. It says "an unhandled error has occurred in your application" I am thinking I might have a default path set incorrectly, but cant seem to see where I went wrong.
