  1. Figured out the wheel movement, its a G27 and with the stock combined pedal settings the pedal is always at 50% which screws up the input for menu navigation via the wheel. I've worked around it with Joy2Key and the buttons on the wheel - works fine now. I assumed the answer to the second question would be update MAME - I would, but racermame has all the customisations for the drivers and it works perfectly..... apart from the fact it uses the older version that doesn't work with Arcade. I'm using regular GameEx and its fine, just missing that nice wheel UI which I use on my joystick cab (and also use PinballX on my VPin - subscriber since 2009 ) On the subject of that, what I'm basically trying to do is just get a game list of all the games under emulators and mame - the GameList theme almost does it, but I don't see my MAME games in there, just the TP/Demul ones I call with batch files/ahk, am I missing something dumb? I do see the full lot under all games in the default theme. I'll grab the ini/log later if req'd - I'm done with the cab for now after battling with Demul and it's DInput errors with FFB devices, so I think a game of CrazyTaxi is earnt......
  2. Hi I've got a couple of questions on a new setup on a driver Is it possible to use the wheel input to move around the UI? - I've tried mapping it to L/R, U/D but although it seems to take a setting it doesn't do anything in the UI (I've mapped the settings to a button on the wheel which works fine) It may not support analogue input of course, so figured I'd ask before digging much further. My 2nd question I seem to have EVERYTHING shown under MAME (I've only got ~25 regular MAME roms and 10 or so more M2/M3 roms) Running RacerMAME (Which is based off MAME 0.160) There used to be an only-exisiting setting IIRC? I've got GameEx Arcade on my other cabinet (Mame 0.217) and thats all good though. Any input welcome Thanks!
  3. Hi Long time user of GameEx, but just built a new MAME cabinet. This time I don't have a dedicated quit/back button (something I may yet regret I feel!) in the interest of a clean control panel.... I was hoping to have P1 start as go forward in the menus and P2 start to go backwards To quit a game in an emulator I was hoping to use P1 and P2 start together - I guess this would be universal exit? I can set this in the wizard, but when I save it it seems to loose the fact the P1+P2 starts are different sticks (JOY1 / JOY 2) and they both appear as JOY 1 buttons...
  4. Switched the primary screen to HDMI (1) and used DVI-VGA on the DMD screen - this is all good now. It was a GTX660 btw I can't get any pf videos/images working (backglass are fine) but thats for a different thread
  5. I'm sure this is something really simple! I';ve got a 3 screen setup, 1920x1200 PF, 800x600 DMD, 1280x1024 BG Everything shows up on the correct screen, but on the PF screen it is all black with the PinballX interface in only a section of the monitor. When you start a game it is fine. My screens are 2,1,3 in numbering (DVI, HDMI, DVI) if that has any relevance. I've done the wizard, and manually set the resolution in the ini.... Any help would be great
  6. I actually found and read that thread myself - that's where I got the idea of the individual ini files, but looks like I totally overlooked the part about the ini folder! Duh! Thanks! I'll test and report back
  7. Hi I've been running GameEx for years in my mini-cab, no problem at all played all the classics no problem at all! However, I've just cracked and finally bought an aimtrak, and everything is great apart from the spec of the PC running the cab It is actually an IBM Thinkpad X60T, (1.6 CoreDuo) and as such struggles with the more modern stuff I'd love to play TimeCrisis, CarnEvil, Point Blank and Area51, and if I up frameskip to 5 or at least PB and A51 are very playable (I think TC and CarnEvil, might be non-starters on this box) However as far as I can tell MAME doesn't 'remember' the frameskip setting on the roms, I've tried creating a romname.ini and sticking it in the roms folder with a single line of FrameSkip 5, but this doesn't seem to work. I don't have a Keyboard in the cab unless doing config otherwise I'd just press F9 Can this be done?
  8. On further investigation it seems to be the Nvidia drivers crashing. This does not happen if GameEx is windowed when you start the game It does not happen on emulators other than MAME (I've tried mameui 129 and mame 131 both do the same) but Project64 etc are fine
  9. Yes, Oct 22nd for RTW and probably mid july as a finalised RTM, I'll continue with GameEx on 7 and see if I can find any work arounds etc and post what I find
  10. Hi Just when I thought everything was perfect........ Got a nice windows 7 MC build running well, Installed GameEx, mame etc. I can play 2 (mame tested only) so far through the GameEx interface and when I quit the 2nd game to go back to the interface my screen says entering power save and I have to hard reboot to get control of the machine back. The mouse and Kb have no effect. This also happens with the gameex screensaver, it shows 2 games and then - power saver. EDIT: If i manually launch the games directly from Mame32 it is OK, its only when quitting a game and going back into GameEx when this happens I haven't tested any other emulators yet. Machine is a shuttle SD32 C2D 6300 3Gb DDR2 Geforce 8400GS DVI hookup to LG 227WD It only does this within GameEx, I can use Windows Media Centre all day fine. Any Ideas?
  11. Is the Tweaks/Perf option a gameex config setting? Thanks for all your help on this + great product by the way!
  12. Yes, the remote works, I'm wondering if one of the DX Redists did something to DirectInput.... The remote doesn't seem to want to quit 3rd party apps (GameEx, PowerDVD BluRay Ed, and the Emus) Works Fine for navigation etc, just can't use back to quit.
  13. I've done a couple of GameEx upgrades via the autoupdate, other than that no real changes that I can think of (As its a MCE box, not much else happens on it) Maybe I'll just reinstall GameEx from scratch and see if that does the trick. Does the MCE remote require standalone drivers? I have never needed them before, I thought they were part of the MCE enabled breeds of Windows
  14. No IPAC/Slikstik, I don't think I have any custom controls...... Pretty much a default install, with the different configs done on each emu. I did have to do a DX Redist update for one of them, dolphin I think, but thats about all I can think of. Is there any way to force DirectInput off, or anything else that could cause this issue?
  15. When I first installed GameEx I used to launch it from within VistaMCE and pressing the back button from the main menu of GameEx used to relauch MCE. Also pressing the back buttons from within a game used to quit the game and drop you back to gameex. The volume buttons used to work too! The remote still works to navigate around the GameEx interface. I have ensured the the Use DirectInput for the keyboard is disabled in the config. Any ideas Thanks
