  1. I'm voting for a search engine. Tho a wee tweak on the movie playback aspect options (in media menu not snapshots etc) would be nice
  2. I'd love a way to scale the output of my 4:3 PC onto my PC to show 16:9 movies on my 16:9 tv... Can do it with Mame and so on but when cycling through the aspect options I don't have a stretch to full screen or a 16:9 aspect option, lots of 16:9 to 4:3 but not the other way round. I may be doing something wrong tho but I'm not able to have a default aspect for movie playback in force. Please help!
  3. I was toying about with a spare dish pointed at sky's sat and using a DVB card was able to get DVBviewer to serve the stream where it came in on the main pc and run a client on the Gamex to control it. It was simply called as an app and turned on map keys etc for mouse and movement control. Once I redifined the keys it worked quite well. Tho freeview sat feed wasn't much cop content wise

Gamex Live online play.. mmm.. nice. So you could enable Gamex Live, it searches for nodes/users with the same game and then it could check to see if that particular game is able to be played across the network/internet.
  5. That's something I've wondered about but not heard of.. not a bad idea, but then I guess it would involve some further investigation etc. etc..
  6. I'm sure it's crossed your mind (and maybe others). Can you configure the wickedly cool speech plugin to read out the game info below the play, snapshot , etc..
  7. I'm inclined to agree with Jay too. Powered USB hubs are great. Specially a usb2.0 hub!
  8. I've been wrestling with a PS2 Gcon on my 16:9 tv and ATI RGB output. Not had much success with this. I do believe it's because the use of a custom re-fresh rate on my output and the lack of overscan (losing some of the top of my output on the tv) has prevented my setup working. http://guncon.acornscity.com/ is a good page for reference and how to etc. I'd love to get my HTPC with Gamex working with a Gcon for some of the lightgun games but it's never going to happen for me. Hope you can get something to work tho! TX
  9. What I find does occasionally work with sequenced rar files is to associate the 1st archive (called) filename.001 with winrar or open winrar and browse into the 001 file. Just a thought
  10. It is actually a usb keyboard on this one.. one of those little laptop like light up keyboards from maplins. along with a laptop size mouse. Most discreet on top of the sky box.
  11. Sorry to revive this to the top, but maybe it works for some (tom at least!) but with differing systems across the board it's never been final as a feature by the looks of it.
  12. I've been tinkering with these games a little and there is always a little performance improvement each revision of mame. Some of them can go real nice using auto-skip (audio can lag/stutter still) but I've yet to see anything really playable on my P4 HT 3Ghz & GT6600 card. Way I look at it is that it's great to see the starts of an emulated game and it's one of the things i always test out each mame revision. Though.. the n64 emulators are somewhat more complete and playable, tho it's not the exact same. Please if anyone has a magic bullet to get these roms running nice lemme know! (Carnevil is in the same bag btw). Oh, and some of the games on the Dreamcast are great fun to play!
  13. RE: Keyboard power on PC: It is a feature that most modern boards do support, but even then it then I can't get it to happen on my Living room HTPC and that was a reasonably cheap new board about 4-5months ago. It can sometimes be hidden on a page in the powersettings that may need scrolled down to. RE: Microswitch on MB pins: I think if you certainly attached the two pins from the PC's board off the power pins to a microswitch it'd be ok.. I've defo had cases (cheap as they can get sometimes) that have a micro like switch operation going on.

Scuse my sarcastic approach on my replies. To be honest it's probably a situation where I want to reply with something constructive but given that I'm no cab builder and there is probably pangs of green envy with your numerous posts it's turned out this way. I know I should conduct myself a bit more constructively with posts & replies. I'll make sure they're not a (vaugely veiled) encitement for flaming if i am postion to reply in future. I'd actually like to keep tab on your progress with your cab and your enthusiasm is to be commended. I may have grown weary of so many posts with out realising your gaining a solid level of support and accomplishing something most worthwhile. I was going to PM you with this but I felt I owe you a public apology. No malice intened. Aw 'ra best TX
  15. Fantastic.. lemme play!

Google is your friend. Lazy sod
  17. Progress, as always, is most welcome even if it's not all sorted asap. Welcome Mr Do! Hope you enjoy your time with Gamex! Tom will no doubt sort it soon enough
  18. Google Katuuz, Google for PC PSU cable splitters and adaptors.
  19. The company that make window blinds desktop software also have a great freeware bootskin tool. http://www.wincustomize.com/ I used to use object desktop but it was accessing Hw T&L and dx9 features which makes it glitch like mad with some normal applications. Bootskin works fine though. TX
  20. Magic Stuff though I did have a bit of a crash after the point where you select themes for download. I selected a few then chose not to download them and skipped the download button and hit next. It wasn't fatal and nothing was fubared! Great work guys! I've attached the report for your information lads.
  21. voted here too.
  22. I see..
  23. Went into Gamex config and turned off 'Use Bezels' in Basic Mame Settings. All is well again. No bezels nor artwork though.
  24. Try disabling auto update option from within the Gamex Config and do manual downloads from the front of Tom's Gamex site instead. I do use the auto update option on a pc here and download it on another. Maybe your antivirus is timing out the download or sumat?
  25. The Tab Key doesn't do nowt for me as far as I know. It just brings up the Mame config options as normal.
