  1. That's also what I meant. I wasn't referring to the per-game themes or bezels. Just the basic themes with the system themes in them. Just so we can get started using the theme. One little feedback. Maybe it's just me. There's only going to be one version of the theme set? Because I've got the 480p videos to go along with the roms but would to see more room for these to get played. They're now quite small in the theme.
  2. Haha thanks. Well quite frankly I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to this. And now with the addition of the HyperLists it's only getting worse! Some of the hyperlists seem very outdated. Look for instance to Nintendo 64. It's dated 11/15/2011. While I created a 1G1R set with clrmamepro from the no-intro 06/15/2015! my new set contains 15 roms more. It gets worse with Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Hyperlist is dated 10/16/2014 and contains 791 roms. I created a 1G1R set with clrmamepro from the no-intro 04/17/2015 which contains 947 roms!!! I do know about GoodBase support in GameEx though I've never used it. No-intro doesn't seem to have any DAT for amiga. But Hyperlist does. I've loaded that in clrmamepro and it gets even weirder. When I want to scan it states that the rom folder doesn't contain any valid set. When I continue with scanning it does state that I have 1954 of 1954 roms. But when I enable all the fix checkboxes it deletes all roms! Luckely I made a backup. So how strange is that. It states I don't have any valid sets. I scan, it says I have them all, but it still deletes them. I'm have a lifetime subscription with emumovies so I'm covered. It's just that I want my rom sets sorted out as good 1G1R sets so I can start matching them up. I'm also busy with looking at HyperSync since it's supposed to be superior to the DLU (auto downloader). Quite confusing all of this. Who can help? haha. Surely others have come across this?
  3. Hey DazzleHP, thanks for the info! Just what I'm looking for indeed. I already have RomCenter installed so I downloaded a HyperList XML file, the Commodore Amiga to be precise, and tried loading it in RomCenter. But it only takes DAT files or emulator exe's. It doesn't accept the XML. I tried googling "romcenter hyperlist" but nothing useful. Do I have to convert it first? However, ClrMamePro seems to accept the HyperList XML if you feed it. I tried it on the Commodore Amiga set since there is no official No-Intro parent-clone dat available. It worked out pretty nicely. But do you know how the 1G1R sorting priority is for the HyperList files? US first, but then? It seems to leave the BIOS files in. It also seems to have build with the latest version of a rom in mind like v1.5 in stead of v1.0 for example. But thank you very much for this tip man! I'm doubting, should I rebuild my other sets that I've already done now with the official No-Intro parent-clone DAT files? And what is now the best way to get the corresponding artwork and video sets from EmuMovies in an easy way for use by GameEx? Do you manually download them and sort them? If so, with which program. Or do you use the Auto Downloader or perhaps GameEx builtin version of the Auto Downloader? Sorry for the many questions. Just FYI and others who may face the same: What I already did before seeing your post was install ClrMamePro and RomCenter and loaded some parent-clone DAT files in from No-Intro. Both seem to have a 1G1R mode but only as long as there is a parent-clone DAT file loaded. If you load a normal DAT file without clone info then you don't have 1G1R mode to your disposal. Comparing both my favourite is ClrMamePro. RomCenter let's me sort the priority of the regions but not exclude them. ClrMamePro lets you sort as well as exclude so this makes for an even shorter list! So for those who may be helped by this as well, here is what I did: Install ClrMamePro. Go to No-Intro's DAT-o-Matic, select the system of your rom set and download the parent-clone DAT file. Determine if your system rom set needs a header file on the global No-Intro datset download page. Lookup your system and see if there is a yellow icon thingy on the right side which provides a header download. Extract the archive after downloading and place the extracted XML header file in the <ClrMamePro installation folder>.\Headers folder. Run ClrMamePro and select "Add DatFile" from the Profiler. Browse to your DAT file and select the default location to save it. Open it under "NEW DATFILES" and select "Default". Go to "Settings" in the main window. Add your ROM path(s). Select "1G1R Mode" beneath "Region / Language Mode". (If this option is greyed out, then your DAT file doesn't contain parent-clone info). Select "Regions" from the upper-left dropdown menu. If your DAT file contains parent-clone info with regions you should see them here. Select the regions which you want included in your 1G1R set and leave out those you don't want. As reference, I chose from top (so highest priority) to down: USA, CAN, AUS, EUR, HOL, ASI, BRA, FRA, GER, ITA, SPA, SWE. I left KOR, CHN, JPN unchecked and will be left out. This saves me a lot of roms which I can't play anyway since I can't read the language anyway . Now close the window. Go to "Scanner" in de main window. In the lower left part of the window you will see a lot of checkboxes. Make sure you have all in the right column (Fix) unselected. Make sure you have all in the left column (Check) selected except for "Unneeded". Select "New Scan..." When the scan finishes it will tell you if you have all of the roms in your set for the 1G1R set. If you do you can continue. If you don't you have two options. Search and download for the missing rom(s) or copy an other region version for each of the missing roms from your set to a temp folder. Now press the "OK" button. BEWARE: the following steps will delete unneeded roms not included in the 1G1R set you are wanting to build. ClrMamePro (with its default settings) makes a backup of the deleted files in the <ClrMamePro installation folder>.\backup\<system-name>\... for you but if you want to be completely safe then create your own backup of the set. Select ALL checkboxes from both columns (Check and Fix) and perform a new scan. When this finishes you will have transformed your rom set to a 1G1R rom set so you only have one rom of each version according to the region priority you set earlier. You can save the Have List by clicking that button if you want. Close the window and also close the main window or continu on to other sets. If you are satisfied you can remove your own backup and/or ClrMamePro's backup if you want.I'm not saying above steps are best practice but this is what I've figured out and seem to work best for me at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong in any way.
  4. Very nice! As starbuck also says. Any possibility for you releasing the basic systems set so we can play with your hard work so far?
  5. Too bad you can't see a systems overview in the video. I'm just curious as to how that will look like and how you can alter that. I hope Evolution can be altered to look like what you see here. I just love those views! And with the flat coverflow you see the systems browsing with added system pics in stead of only logo's. That would be awesome
  6. They are indeed based on No-Intro. I downloaded some more recent sets now so will try with those. Which is best to use? The DLU or internal updater in gameex? The thing I'm also missing with those is not being able to specify my own paths. It uses its own system names and art folder names. Also, there is no log to actually see what it did. Did it match everthing exactly or perhaps match some things with fuzzy logic. You know what I mean? I think I may have found a way now to create the 1G1R rom set based on a parent/clone XML with ClrMamePro. Will update if that works out. Since I already have artwork folders. What to your opinion would be the best program to match my new trimmed down rom set to my artwork folders and clean/rename them?
  7. I used to want that also. But think of it. Would you be able to quickly lookup/search for a title you wanted to play with only covers on screen? That's why I reverted my opinion and now find it just very nice to be able to sort through a list of games. A better option, in my personal opinion, is if GameEx could be made looking like a new Frontend "EmulationStation" which can be found here. It looks very sweet! It only has the systems in a cover wall kind of look. But the gamelist itself is still a sortable list.
  8. Thanks Draco1962, I'll be posting my first profile, which will be for GameEx, once I've finished it up there. Should be tomorrow or day after. Would be logical to start with GameEx itself I've got the standard navigation covered. Now all the advanced keyboard input. So for this to work somebody would have to keep the GameEx input settings to default, disable gamepad detection and enable advanced keyboard input. Anybody know what Paging "C key" does? That and Volume "D" don't seem to do anything.
  9. Thanks Adultery. I used to collect the whole sets but am now doubting. As sources have become scarce, it's been harder to get up-to-date sets. And sorted I think they will save A LOT of space Any more automatic ways you perhaps have experience with also? I understand it'll require some manual work at some point(s) but am used to that and no problem. Just looking for a more automatic way since I don't know all the roms from the sets so can't decide on my own what to keep or leave out Auto in the way like stick with USA release, otherwise Europe but always keep out Japan. Don't really know what the difference is between US and EU releases anyways besides the region itself of course. And how did you match up with artwork/video's? Because from what I've read the auto downloader program or integrated in GameEx doesn't work that well. After my post I also came across some Python script called XBMC ROM Utilities which looks like to do the same thing RomSorter does. I was hoping anybody got some experience with them along with the Artwork/Videos sorting afterwards.
  10. Hi Guys, Hopefully some of you are willing to shed some light on this. I've been trying to set things up with GameEx for a HTPC setup. But I just can't figure out how to organize my rom collections so it included only one, and the best possible, game per region. Excluding any japan or other oriental regions which language I can't read. What is the best way to do this? And with this get accompanying media from EmuMovies. For example, I started off with the No-Intro Super Nintendo collection. I have the "Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System (20141014-214745_CM)" rom set. From EmuMovies I have the "Nintendo SNES [Videos][480p][HyperList 1.1_No-Intro][EM 20150209)" 480p video snap set. I also have the "Super Nintendo [snaps][HyperList 1.1][EM 20110627]" set as well as the other artwork sets for SNES. So I got all the goodies but now what? In advance I tried the Auto Downloader with the full rom set but that didn't work out too well. I also read on the forums that it doesn't always work that well also. As for creating a one game per region (1G1R) list for the roms I've searched and searched. Came across RomSorter but don't know how it works. Don't know if it is the best way to go. Can anybody help out?
  11. I took the plunge and bought Pinnacle Game Profiles. Still testing and trying out with it but I'm very impressed. I've already started with creating some custom profiles during trying out for GameEx itself as well as some emulators. When this is done I'll post them on GameEx forum.
  12. This sounds very cool. Did anyone ever make any progress on this?
  13. I just found out about Pinnacle Game Profiler because I'm searching for the best joystick to keyboard mapper to use. At first I came across XPadder which doesn't have a trial and owners paypal account seems to have problems now also. I looked further and there was PGP after coming across this website which contains a comparison. BTW, it contains a coupon code for 5% extra discount making it $8,99 !!! It looks very promising. I tried searching on the forum here but this is about the only place I could find a conversation about it. Do you perhaps have pin profiles available for gameex itself and various emulators? Or know where I can find such?
  14. This looks like THE theme I'm going to use Any news on when the basics will be released? With that I mean the primary arcade/console skins without the per game skins? So we can start using this
  15. Would be great if you could share with adultery and hopefully could be made a plugin. Is it also possible to show the splash screen on command within gameex by pressing a key? I would like to dislay a controller layout per system. I know I can already by using the controls image but that would display it every time you select a Rom. I want it to be on demand for only when you forgot the controls.
  16. Completely agree. I'm still testdriving on my laptop to get everything setup as I want until I deploy everything to a HTPC. But Windows 8.1 in my personal opinion runs much smoother and bug-free. At least, that's my experience. I'm just wondering, which tweaks and such do you apply?
  17. One more thing. With running the match wizard I noticed that in the results it also lists the files which already match 100%. Why is this? Doesn't this just make the list a lot longer then necessary? Like I was trying to rename boxshots for my SNES collection. I already have 702 png's which match. So I don't need to see these. But they did turn up in the list as 100%. Could this be left out or possible through an option at least?

I'm still experimenting but just as a pointer, did you check the gameex log? What does it say? Does it report any errors? Have you also tried a config from the User Submitted Configs, Map Files, Wrappers and Databases (Uploads) topic?
  19. Hi Fatune85, I posted a topic earlier because like many I have problems auditing all of my media collections. Out of that I have some suggestions which you could maybe look at. In the "List Missing Images" you can generate a HAVE and MISSING list. It would be nice if you could also generate an UNMATCHED list which states the files in the images location which did not match to any roms. That way you could view files which may be not needed and can just be deleted. I came across a program Shot Reporter v1.0 which does this but it is very outdated and missing some things like non-case comparing. I like your program but it would be nice if this could be added. It would be awesome if you could also use FatMatch through the command line. That way I could use it in a batch. Maybe something like FatMatch.exe /roms "rompath" /images "imagespath" /lists "listpath". Where listpath is the path you specify where it automatically saves the three have, miss and unmatched lists. Being able to specify paths in the program by simple copy&paste. Now they are greyed out and you have to use the browse button. Being able to select a recursive option with both paths where it will search subdirectories. I saw that function in Shot Reporter mentioned above. Maybe you could take a look if it has other features to your liking. If command line would be implented, giving it the ability to enable there also When generating lists it would be nice to get the totals displayed. Like 50/105 meaning you have 50 of 105 roms as example for the have list. Same goes for the miss (and unmatched if implemented) list. If command line would get implemented maybe also set these as variables. like FM-TOTALROMS=105, FM-HAVE=50, FM-MISS=55, UNMATCHED=0. Sorry for the load of suggestions. Just thinking out loud so to speak as to what I came across until now.
  20. Thank you and I will surely do that. It would be nice if it gets implemented. Because right now I'm in hell getting my collections sorted out... Indeed, I also find myself reviewing everything myself in stead of the apps. But doing it manually isn't doable. Let alone over so many collections! FatMatch looks like a better app to use indeed. Though it looks like it's slower. But that could just be me.
  21. I searched the registry but there are a lot of registry entries regarding GameEx. Also, I believe some dll files also have to be registered. So I think it will be quite a challenge to get GameEx portable like that.
  22. Education? Sorry, really didn't mean it in that way. I was just spilling my thoughts about. Also for other people getting to read this topic I guess. Guess I just talk to much I'm currently converting the SNES set with goodmerge. I'm curious how big of a difference the sizes will be. Will post results tomorrow. Going to sleep now. Goodmerge reports also that it will take 2,5 hours to convert!!! Damn
  23. You sure are! The innovation has just begun I guess. With no-intro's Dat-O-Matic you now have parent-clone dats and xmdb files to go with it. With that making it possible to create a GoodMerged set with the GoodMerge program in just a few clicks. ClrMamePro still doesn't support solid archives yet. But when it does (and from what I've read it is going to happen) I think more and more will convert the sets. Correct me if I'm wrong but I only see upsides as to no-intro sets getting GoodMerged. + One listing for every game in stead of a full list with all versions. + Much lesser filesize being the different versions put in one solid archive (which only GoodMerge does at the moment). + Resulting in also much lesser sized media collections as you only need one media file for the goodmerged romset. Downside is that no frond-end supports it yet, untill now I believe you are the first one to support it. Maybe I'll even GoodMerge my romsets now with the support being added now. Correction; I'll No-IntroMerge them :P
  24. Circo is busy with setting up a new ftp. So currently there are two active. They aren't available on the old but but they are on the new one. I'm looking at them as we speak.
