  1. I don't mean hung on the All Games list. I meant it opened, and then on the main menu before I chose "Emulated Games", it froze for 2 minutes. And then I gave up and restarted. As I said, it's not letting me attach files...?
  2. Using the Media Center V1 theme... as I mentioned in the other thread, I'm on a really underpowered machine and just wanted to see how it went for when I eventually carry it over to living room PC that'll be much more powerful than this one, so if it won't be an issue then, then it really doesn't matter. And I'll be sure to try out other themes to find one that looks more to my taste. Still, having a button to make it go away could be useful anyway. (Or having an option to have it default to not appear, or only appear when you pause/fast forward...)
  3. I'm using the Media Center V1 theme--I tried the "Media Center" theme and it... er, crashed the first time and then hanged the second time. For the record, I'm on a really underpowered machine, and am basically just trying it out for when I eventually build a living room PC... but I digress. Yes, all the individual emulators work separately. Aaand... I'm not sure why, but when I try to upload, I get "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file."
  4. Heya, I just tried viewing videos on GameEx for the first time, and... I was surprised by the interface, to say the least. Is there any way to make the little bar on the bottom go away? It seems like it stays there for a good 30 seconds, which is a major problem when it takes up that much of the screen (and even because it's on the bottom of the screen, where subtitles go). Also, is there any chance it's going to look better in future updates? It's really, really not pretty. Or is that based on what theme I'm using? (I'm also on a really low end PC, so if it lowers the quality on it based on my settings, there could be that too...)
  5. Argh, hate to be the one with the issue, but at the moment, when I go to All Games it hangs for a few seconds then crashes with this error log... 20:50:46.9 2/28/2009: GameEx: Version 9.91: Starting Log 20:50:46.9 2/28/2009: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 20:50:46.9 2/28/2009: Operating System Name: Windows XP 20:50:46.9 2/28/2009: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1800+, 991MB 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: 1.5Ghz 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: Running Randomize() 20:50:47.0 2/28/2009: Loading PlugIns 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Running Misc startup tasks 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Setting Menu types 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Opening Configuration File 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Getting Configuration Values 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Using Theme: Default - Media Center V1 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - Media Center V1 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Launching HideOS.exe 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: GameEx will check for media insertion (may affect performance) 20:50:47.1 2/28/2009: Hiding Taskbar 20:50:47.2 2/28/2009: Is Media Center running? 20:50:47.2 2/28/2009: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 20:50:47.2 2/28/2009: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 20:50:47.2 2/28/2009: Media Center Mode 2 20:50:47.2 2/28/2009: Video previews on. to use it. =)
  6. Cool. Did not know about XPadder and hopefully this should make my life easier.
  7. I'm relatively new to using Joy2Key at all, but I'm wondering how most people have theirs set up for games that only allow keyboard input. At first glance, it would seem to me that just putting each key to a random button, then setting up the keys in-game would work best, but the thing is there are some games that don't let you configure the keys. So is there any way to set Joy2Key to open with a certain config based on which game you're loading, or the like? Or any other similar alternatives to do this? Thanks.
  8. Oh god, I'm so stupid. I see what happened now. The rom renaming changed all the suffixes to "sfc"... god, I feel so stupid for not realizing this, I'm so sorry!
  9. Doing that changed absolutely nothing--it's still the same 4 games that have been appearing, only now the database details for them don't appear.
  10. So, still no fix? The files are not zipped; the EMU_2.map/dbcache/dbcacheini files (emu 2 being ZSNES) only lists the 4 files, and deleting it doesn't rebuild the database. There must be a way to just rebuild the emulator databases...?

  12. He wrote:"Unless you want to do it in Mame,"--which I don't--"then I already wrote a program to do it"--which would be an affirmative that it isn't for MAME.
  13. Changed it from, for example, "Kirby Super Star (U) [!]" or whatever to "Kirby Super Star (USA)", based on RomCenter's changing the name... Er, so, the file.
  14. I think I was just confused by his grammar. It sounded like he was saying, "I made an app to do it, except it doesn't do it for MAME."
  15. I'm... not sure how that program will help? ?_?
  16. I have a problem similar to this, but for ZSNES... I changed the naming for a few of my files and now they're not showing up at all... =?
  17. As an aside, I figured out number 3 on my own.
  18. 1. Is there any way to have game-specific controls? For example, I'm currently using a Gamecube controller and so it needs to be changed around for every SNES game, depending on which buttons I need where... Also, this would be useful to auto-set light-gun and mouse games, if it doesn't already (haven't tried). 2. Is there any way to have "All Games" include the MAME games, as well? 3. Can anyone give me advice on getting Visual Pinball to work? The guide in the tutorials section did not work at all.
  19. Nope. OpenOffice can open Access files, but it can't save them in Access format, meaning GamEx wouldn't be able to read the saved files.
  20. Is there any way to edit the database without Microsoft Access? I have OpenOffice and I don't believe there's any way to save it in Access format. Why can't it just be an Excel table...? D=
  21. Heya, two questions/problems. 1. No matter what time I sent the screensaver to--for example, 10 minutes, it goes for 3 minutes. What's up? 2. Some games have an error that says "Screen flipping in cocktail mode is not supported" "Type OK to continue". Any way to supress that? Thanks.
