Thank you scutters, it looks a bit complicated no wonder there arent many pup packs out there, so i guess ill keep learning. Thanks again.

Thanks for reading. So i got my self most of my games out of packages i found floating around the net, i had a good time cleaning them up and geting them to work. So in one of the packages i downloaded pinuppopper package that was huge, to be hones, i dont like it, so i decided to stay with PBX, now the package has tons of puppacks, and i think they are cool, like the elvis presly one and the back to future one, but alot of them packages, just mess my setup, look like the where designed for a triple monitor setup, wich i dont have and not ready to use yet, maybe on my next build. So i was wondering if theres an easy way to make them work on a two screen setup. i can move videos around, but cant rezise them or make them to stay in place for the next reboot. Thanks for any help in advance.

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
ode1979 replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
New guy here, wondering if is posible to add a key to just retur to the systems list without going thru the menu, example, instead of having to lanch a game to get to the systems option on the menu, just press a key instead and it gets you back to the systems list. Just as any regular arcade front end, that presing esc takes you to the main list. Thanks for the great work. -
Hey me again , im sorry to bother you guys, but the search function did not brought anything. #1.- Where do i need to place the needed files to have images at system menu list. Example images for the list that start with the systems i have rather all the games, i dont see but the system logo, thats all. I can make my own videos for table and backglass, but i cant find where to put them. #2.- its there a way to go back to the system list if i umsing the simplified menu instead of going to launch a table the choose systems? example, like in hyperspin or any front end, (sorry i dont use gamex, i used to use it when it first came out) anyway, like in any front end, if you hit esc it takes you back to the system list, no need to go to a menu. Thanks for any help.

Well, the database manager its a great tool indeed, im pretty much new here, so i really dont know its history, to be hnest im not gonna be using it too much, once i clean the media thats not need, ill probably have my games collection ready. I really apreciate all of the developers hard work here and the fact that you guys made all this available for free. Without yu guys we wouldnt have all this fun, thanks again.

maybe just remove the extra not needed info, like image size.

Thanks for the update, you know , when i paste the info into exell, i get just the name of tthe tables, perhaps theres an automatization setting on my exel , let me try on google docs , thanks alot.

So i downloaded a new table a vpx table, champions 2020, and man i got to admit it looks good even for my potato setup, so i hope i can get a real setup one day to really enjoy this hobby, thanks guys.

Well english is my second lenguage so im not sure if you are being sarcastic with your specs or the whole thing....your pc, top noch, i can only dream with a 7gen pc, 16gb ram can be posible, and a 43inch 4k tv its not huge deal here, but a 400 dll rtx 2070 i can just keep dreaming for now, your picture . Your picture looks awsome, congrats, maybe someday i would be able to afford a nice pc like yours to really taste this hobby. Congrats mike.

Well ,playfield runs at 1360x768 and backglass at 1280x1024, i really don care much on the backglass, but if i try to run at 1920x1080 things slow down alot.

Well this is not a pbx related question but rather a general digital or virtual pinball question. Ive seen videos of pinball games that almost look real, like 3d , and the ball rolls flawesly. I allready downloaded lots of tables from vp, vpx, pfx2 and 3 and future pinball, but not one looks like that. Im using a potato pc with my setup, 3rd gen i5 pc with 8gb ram and an 1gb hd4650 or 6450 cant remember the name of the amd card. So its a low level setup, that i have to say, VP runs nice but dont look good, vpx runs nice too, pfx2 and 3, run ok, and most future pinball run ok, but dont look to realistic. A friend of mine, thinks an rx580 8gb card would do the trick, but i decided to ask the most experinced folks here, what "low" budget equipment would be recomended to and by "low" i really mean something a poor dad living in a poor country could afford. You see, for me here, a 3rd gen i5 with 8gb and a 21 inch monitor and 1 gb amd card i got that for 150 dlls, so to spend 150dlls in a rx580 its a huge deal. Anyway any recomendations or opinions are wellcome, thanks for your help.

Thanks mike, but dont just make the batch file for me, teach me how is done please. This is what i get. And keep in mind im still making the videos so alot is missing. Thanks in advance. futurepinball output.txt

Well, i ran into the same problem. But little by little im fixing all of the games i have. I enjoy it. As for playing, most of the games i have played seem to work just fine.
-
Thanks , let me try.

Well in notepad i get this: C:\PinballX\Media\Future Pinball\Wheel Images\Tomb Raider (Original) (0.9).png 1,331.0 KB so i dont see a tab. In exel, i get : Tomb Raider (Original) (0.9) tab wheel image Non of them seem to be usefull to create a batch file. Should i use some othe software to make the batch file?
-
So i just tried it, and it looks that the missing media, and the media that its not needed and more, gets copied to the clipboard, if i paste it on a regular notepad to create a batch file, the info has the size of the image file at the end, example "C:\PinballX\Media\Future Pinball\Wheel Images\Tomb Raider (Original) (0.9).png 1,331.0 KB" making it hard to create a batch file, and if i paste it to an exel document i just get the names of the files without and extention , again making it har to create a batch file, maybe im missing something, let me look further.

I have amd, and im using the old script found in here, work like a charm, i had to do some research to get it to work, but once is set up, it does everything automatica. Now i just have to do a few at the time, ill probably take me a couple of days. But it does look nice. I also getting to understand BAM a little, more, most tables load centered now, just got to adjust a few ones. Im getting there, Thanks for the help.
-
This fixed the videos not displayed. Now im new to future pinball, so i thought BAM was a 1 click solution on having all tables nice centered, i was wrong, i have to go one game at a time to make sure it looks nice and the create my videos. @Tom Speirs i really dont mind using the pbxvideos creator script as is automatic but yes,if you can icorporate something into pbx that would be great. Thanks for the hard work and good work.
-
And by the way, yes, creating screenshots with pinballx only gives black thumbs or images.
-
i ended up using an old trick from here, works nice, but now the videos im creating display black screens, i can see only the wheels, so i guess im missing the codecs, im gonna play with that, thanks Tom.

Hey thanks for reading, hope this is the last time asking for help. Anyway, when i started with PBX i recall that for the tables that i couldnt find the artwork, i could just press "s" on my keyboard and voala...magic artwork. So i got me a bunch of futurepinball tables, most of the had the wheels, but not all of them have table or backglass images. So i thought , no problem ill just go "s" key on each game, but now the screenshot feature is not working for me. Not at all. Im using windows 10 x64, all exes are in admin mode,BAm works nice with pbx so i think i got everything ok and changed "s" to "u" as mentioned in some other similar topics . Thanks for any advise. Hey thanks for reading, i continue on my pinball set up, as just found a torrent with lots of games and systems, i have most systems set'up, but i was wondering, is there a tool that cleans everything up? i have lots of media thats not used by PBX , i would like to get rid off all that. Thanks for any help.
-
So using database manager, a regular fx2 and fx3 xml and some mega links i was able to fix the games with wrong artwork and the ones with none. Also i looked into the pbx ini file and found the last game entry, modified that to the game i wated to start every time and closed the ini, so i hit properties for the ini and set that up for read only, now pbx starts on my game on every boot. Seems like its all working now, now i have test play game by game. I know i have problems with tom and jerry and freddy a nightmare on elm street, but thats another topic if i dont get them to work. Thanks everyone for helping, and thanks Mike for the exelext piece of software.
