n = day n+1 = couple of days (more math wohoo) I'm assuming he means, there is a memory leak in CPanel wizard, and if left running for a day or 2 it eats up all free ram. Can we get a screen cap of this?
-
But in the end, wouldn't you still have to follow the procedures either Tempest or myself have layed out for mounting images depending on the game? =)
-
Actually.... Wouldn't the math be.... 500x1024x1024x1024 Bytes, = 536 870 912 000 Bytes. as 1024Bytes = 1KiloByte, 1024KiloBytes = 1MegaByte and of course 1024MegaBytes = 1 GigaByte =) Lets not forget the over head of NTFS on an XP box is about 8MB of partitioned space.. And when you formatted your drives, how did you break down the cluster sizes? And keep in mind too, you want to leave atleast was it 15% free space for drive and file system performance? lol

Are you looking at the Audio Plugin settings for Project64? I'm not sure what the Start WAV File recorder you are referring to. Also, have you upped your buffer size as Brian mentioned? (even if you are on XP) And lastly have you review the Project64 Documentation?
-
Have you validated you have the ROM in your roms folder? Have you tried turning off ALL filters and updating the games list? Start there, turn off al filters, then update and see if you have it, then turn on your filters one by one and see what filter takes it off the list. Also, does GameEX read from mameinfo.dat? (or whatever info file MAME uses, I'm new to alot of this myself)
-
This would typically be something you would ask in the Project64 forums, but I may be able to help In Project 64 there are Audio plugins (sadly I'm not near my PC so I'm going off very old memory) U should be able to change your audio plugin, then inside that menu is a configure option. When I get home (in 10 long hours) I can verify for you.
-
Are you using GameLauncher mode? I don't believe it shows up there, also can you post your config files for us to review? Thanks

This sounds like exactly how I have my system set up =) Some games need CD's mounted via Daemon tools, some don't =) I don't know if you noticed my first thread I did here lol I was having issues loading games via batch file and all kindsa heck. So I'll summ up what I did to get games working just how I want them =) (and you it seems lol) We'll use House of the Dead 3 as my example (since mines setup to use the CD) I have a folder that contains batch files for every PC game (yes, all 47 I currently have installed and adding more daily) C:\Arcade\Launcher\ The batch file is named House_of_the_Dead_3.bat This file contains @ECHO OFF ECHo Converting Controls... ECHO ---------------------- C:\Arcade\Apps\winipac\winipac.exe "C:\Arcade\Apps\winipac\profiles\HOD3.ipc" ECHO Complete ECHO ---------------------- ECHO Mounting CD image... ECHO ---------------------- C:\Arcade\Apps\DAEMON\daemon.exe -mount 0,"D:\Arcade\PC Games\HOD3.iso" ECHO Complete This reprograms my i-Pac and mounts the House of Dead 3 CD via Daemon tools. The link file to start the game is named C:\Arcade\emus\PC\House_of_the_Dead_3.lnk Thus the config for PC games Command Line : "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" stays the same The KEY! is to set this up under Emulater config page three Launch Before: CALL C:\Arcade\Launcher\[ROM].bat The trick here is A. Your .lnk and .bat files have to be named the SAME exactly, as it loads [ROM].bat before it starts the game. B. You cannot! use spaces in the .lnk and or .bat file names, the batch files will never load, use underscores and tell GameEX to replace underscores with spaces in the Emulator Setup (Page 2 Replace Underscores: Yes) C. You HAVE to use CALL in the Launch Before statement, the way GameEX launches games is via runitgame.bat, it takes all your run before, run game etc commands and parses them out to runitgame.bat. since you are running a batch file inside a batch file (runitgame.bat is running C:\Arcade\Launcher\[ROM].bat (House_of_Dead_3.bat)) it has to know to return execution back to runitgame.bat to load the game. If you don't use CALL the games will never load. So in review, Create a batchfile per game and place them in 1 directory C:\Arcade\Batch\name_of_game.bat Create link files names the exact same (cept the extensions) C:\Arcade\Emus\PC\name_of_game.lnk Modify the name_of_game.bat to mount your image with Daemon Tools and anything else you wish Modify GameEX Emulator settings to replace Underscores with spaces Change Launch Before to CALL C:\Arcade\Batch\[ROM].bat And you should be good =) If you want you can also do the same for launch after. i.e. (2 ways here) Launch After: CALL C:\Arcade\Launcher\[ROM]-close.bat or Launch After: CALL C:\Arcade\Exit\[ROM].bat I haven't set a Launch After script up yet so I'm not sure if you really do need the CALL command. Hopefully this is exactly what you are looking for =)

No worries =) I've spent the past day or so working on a standard theme so I can play around with skinning and video backgrounds etc. I guess it appears skinning Game Launcher mode is currently an unsupported feature? =/ At times I have a sense of humor, today it has left me =/ I just realized the replacement control panel top I made for my cab over the weekend... umm Player 2 and Player 4 have no wrist room =/ the hand just kinda falls off the panel lol... Gallery Link Now do I say... eh, this one is better, I can finally add my track ball, the button layouts are better, and oh well with those palyers cause I'll be player 1 always anyway? lol. I'm stuck between leaving the existing panel on, or putting the new one on... Regardless I'm rebuilding the entire control panel enclosure next spring...(and making it BIGGER lol)
-
Since it's Project64 (I was assuming it was a PC version of CoD) Have you loaded up Project 64 outside of GameEX and hit escape? I know I have a version of Project64 thats configured to exit on ESC. That has nothing to do with GameEX

Good post, I'm in a perpetual state of learning, so the more information I can come across the better. I do of crouse understand the only install what you need aspect. But my movie library consists of 1,115 DVDs (well... Divx rips and other "collected" works) Thus rather than hoping I had the correct codec installed when I have company and we want to watch a movie, I pulled the trigger on the best option for a "full service" pack per-say. I've never used MediaControl, I'll have to look into it, might be interesting. I love addons for my MCE =) (Such as Webguide... it's great sitting at work listening to my mp3 collection or streaming live TV!) And to be honest, I can't wait for the x64 version of CCCP, my MCE box is on 64bit hardware yet Vista x32.. I had the same issues with getting my videos running correctly.. and being somewhat lazy (When your a systems engineer and a systems security specialist for a large company, last thing you wanna do is touch a PC when you get home), I ended up tossing on the Vista Codec Pack x64. Needless to say that didn't last at all, and I downgraded to x32 Vista In the end, CCCP only includes what... - FFDShow 2008-04-09 r1739 CCCP - FLV Splitter 2006-08-09 - Haali Media Splitter 2008-03-29 - MPV (Mpeg2) Decoder 2007-05-17 CCCP - VSFilter 2007.05.31 - CoreWavPack 1.1.1 - Media Player Classic HomeCinema 1.1.611 - ZoomPlayer 5.50 beta 1 Standard Strip away Zoom, MPlayer classic and there's not much on top of your original required list. But back to the task at hand =) (Sorry for thread jacking there Illseeyouinhell)
-
Really? Why is that? I happen to be running Vista MCEwith CCCP and not a single problem. Actually out of all the setups I've tested, I get the fastest play back, smoothest video, least amount of over head. CCCP Has been the only end all be all solution I've found, plays all my MKVs with out a hitch, this can't be said about any other codec setup I've come across. Please keep in mind, CCCP is leaps and bounds beyond anything such as the KLite pack etc. Do you have a good backing as to why you should not use CCCP on an HTPC? or is that just a bias? If you were to say, "Don't use Klite codec pack as its nothig but bloatware, has overlapping decoders" etc, that would be one thing. But I beg to differ with CCCP.
-
A Cheap, and well...most likely not a very good solution would be. Merge both audio feeds down to mono (MAME and JukeBox). Pipe MAME thru the right channel, and pipe the Jukebox thru the left. This way you can mute one channel or the other, this have jukebox playing, then MAME audio can take over upon game play. It's sloppy and may not even be possible (or easy). If done ONLY when in Attract Mode, it might be a way to do what you are requesting.
-
Do you have more than 1 windows user account on that box?
-
Give me a list (within reason lol) of what you want and I'll make them as I turn mine out for my Theme I'm making.
-
images.google.com? and your fave graphics editor =) (Photoshop)
-
Have you tried just using CCCP? It has the FFDShow extensions built in and options to Hide tray icons for FFDshow Video/Audio as well as Hide the tray icon for the Halaa Media Splitter.

I've tried dorking around with settings to get Music to start as soon as I load GameEX. I thougth I had it configured correctly in the audio section. Yet Music never played. Then I realized it will start once I goto the JukeBox section. I understand you can load music with the Ambiance option, but that appears to be just 1 MP3 (Can you load M3U? playlists). Is it possible to start your music playlist once GameEX loads? (With out having to bring up the jukebox first) Also, I have Jukebox and DVDs/Movies/Videos disabled, yet I still get the option on my main menu to enter the Jukebox as well as the DVD section.

I love the look of the TopGun 2's, recoil and everything! I swayed away from buying them myself, as I've heard you can't you use them close up, and at times my light guns are only 3-4 inches from the screen lol (depending on whos playing.) I ended up spending $120 for 1 Act labs light gun, and still have to buy the 2nd =/ Let me know how the TopGun works out!

Do you have Map Keys turned on in the emulator config? Turn OFF Map keys if it's on, this will map ESC and Back to close the game and return to game EX. I had this problem for a sec till I changed that setting for my PC games section. Then to Exit a game, I've setup my I-Pac controller to hit "Alt+F4" to exit PC games =) Works like a charm.

Thats what I was figuring. I'd be happy to even see it reload the game upon coin insert, that way the bezel guys bye and the game sound comes back

I tried this today, here's what I've noticed Inserting coins works, and allows me to play, but I have MAME audio muted via the setup of GameEX during attract mode, thus when I drop in coins, still no audio. Also the bottom bar with the game info etc stays

As you all my know, I'm pretty darn new to Game EX, and I'd like to work on converting over my old MAMEWah backgrounds over to GameEX. I've tried importing the MAMEWah layout files into GameEX's theme editor, but it crashes everytime I do so, so I decided to just go ahead and work on it from scratch. Here's the trick though, well.. what I'm trying to do, can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like to have 1 looping video clip as the main background, almost like a morphing fractal etc. Yet I want that video to play constantly in the background through out my menus. i.e. when I change between NES to SNES, theres no restarting of the video, stoping, starting or skipping. I only want to use Game Luncher mode I'd like to use semi transparent PNGs as the menus, and a different one per emu, that way the background animation is visible thru the PNG background I don't want to display snaps full screen, rather have the Snap/Title screen/Marquee (and or boxart/cart art) displayed in sections of the page as I scroll thru the lists. Can anyone lend some pointers on what setups in the theme editor to work with to make something like this possible? or close (i.e. if the back ground animation can't be seemless and must be reloaded between each emu screen etc...) But again, the main things are, Game Launcher mode only, Emu specific backgrounds, non full screen snaps etc.. I've poked around in the editor, but can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this in Game Launcher mode. I've also tried using the custom background images in the Emu config section of the setup wizard, but those don't seem to carry over to Game Luncher mode. Ideas? (Also, ps. I just donated, upon donation how long does it take to get info about registering GameEX? I fear my SpamD tarpit box may have greylisted the email lol)
