  1. Okay, so I've finally got it all working how I want, but there's just this one problem that I can't seem to figure out. If I leave the computer on and just let it sit there, when I come back and try to navigate through GameEx, I can't?! It seems like it froze, but all the graphics are working still. I don't really know why it would be doing this, and even after rebooting, if it's still idling it will do that!
  2. Ok, so I see where you can type in the path for where the artwork is stored, but do they have to be named a certain way? Like if I had a image for Mario Bros.nes would I need the image named Mario Bros.jpg? Just wanted to know how to get box art working!
  3. Hey that really helped, I was finally able to get it working! Thanks again for the help!
  4. Alright, after getting into Command Prompt, I was able to get back into Windows. I set both Buttons 2 & 3 to True, but still no luck when in the emulator. What is the drop-down menu next to Advanced Config for? Like it has [Mapping Off] EXIT (Alt+F4) as one of the things you can set it as. I've tried it with that one enabled, and disabled and it's still not getting me anywhere? I guess I could go back to Xpadder. I mean I got it working where one button would be the Esc key, but I wanted to make it so you have to press both Start & Select to exit, just so people won't hit the Select button by accident.
  5. Okay, I'll try that! Actually, I don't know how to get back into Windows now?! I installed that InstantSheller, and I thought it had a disable function, but I can't seem to find it? Do you know if there's a way to disable it, so I can get back into Windows, to do that Editor?
  6. OK I'll try that! Thanks! Ok I see the Advanced Config, but I don't know what I need to type for the Select and Start buttons, and where to put it all? I mean when I configured the controllers with NEStopia, when I mapped Select and Start it labeled them as (joy 1) 2 and (joy 1) 3. Then for player 2 it was the same only (joy 0) 2 and (joy 0) 3. I'm sorry, I'm a real noob when it comes to doing this!
  7. Okay, so I decided to get GameEx registered, and finally got full controller support working in it. Now this is the setup that I have right now: PC fitted inside old NES Console. Controller Ports wired through RetroPads to USB. Controller is able to go through the GameEx menu and everything, and I'm able to load right into a game on NEStopia. Now what I want to do is map both the Start and Select buttons to the ESC key, so it will exit the Emulator and go back to GameEx. Now I have Xpadder installed, and I've tried working with it, but I'm just completely lost on how to configure two buttons for one key. I tried JoyToKey, but it wouldn't even work with the Joystick for some reason (I dunno, maybe I'll try it again). So is there some way that I can map 2 buttons on the Controller so that you have to press BOTH of them to use the ESC key? Thanks!
  8. Well I wanted to use something to setup the emulator, and be able to navigate through it with the NES Controller. And GameEx is the only one that I could get working. Also, I just want the system to boot right into GameEx. It's not going to have a keyboard and mouse attached, so I would like it to go right into GameEx, and then go on from there!
  9. So I tried using GameEx a while ago, but I had an issue with the joystick not working properly, so I gave up on my project. Well I'm back to working on it, because other frontends don't seem to work as well. Let me just start with what I'm trying to do: I'm building a PC into an NES Console, and it's just going to have the NES Emulator installed and hoping to get it to run through GameEx. The original controller ports were wired through USB, using the RetroPorts. Now when I went through the install of GameEx, I got to the screen for which emulators to download, and I selected NEStopia, and it said "downloading" and then it said "unzipping". Is it supposed to say finished or anything, cause it sat at "unzipping" for a while. I think it did download though, because it was showing up in C:\Emulators. Ok, so when it was done installing I started up GameEx. It loaded just fine, and I could navigate through it using the NES Controller. The only thing, is there is no Emulator menu, or selection of the Emulator? Is there a way I can just download the Emulator from a site, and then link it with GameEx? I'm really lost with this, and would love to get this working! I'll have to post some pics of what it all looks like! Thanks!
