  1. Cheers. Looks like I've lost it, Have sent Tom a PM.. Thanks
  2. Just setting up GameEx, and not wanting to see the Windows 7 loading screens in my arcade cab, I decided to use InstantSheller. 07 Seem to have worked, but when botting up, it did not use GameEx as the shell. I've gone back into InstantSheller to be faced with "Undo Changes". When clicking this I get a Unhandled exception has occure. (I'm running as an admin, have tried compatibility mode and set it to also run as an admin, and UAC is off) . More details about the error: Index was outside the bounds of the array See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at c.h(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4959 (win7RTMGDR.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework64/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- InstantSheller Assembly Version: 1.0.3752.25722 Win32 Version: 1.0.3752.25722 CodeBase: file:///C:/Emulators/Utils/instantsheller/InstantSheller.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4927 (NetFXspW7.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4927 (NetFXspW7.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.4927 (NetFXspW7.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- Microsoft.VisualBasic Assembly Version: 8.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 8.0.50727.4927 (NetFXspW7.050727-4900) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Microsoft.VisualBasic/8.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. 3. Hi All, Been quite some time since using GameEx (probably over a year) I'm getting back to building a new machine for the Atomiswave cab but for the life of me, I cannot find where the bought license version details are. I've got some options but not sure where to start. a) I've got plenty of emails but is there something unique I can search on where the license information would have been sent to me? Was it a reg file or code? (can't remember) that I can search my computer for? c) I have the old drive, which has GameEx installed, and unlocked. This is no longer bootable, is there somewhere in here I can look? It's set up as a secondary drive to copy the data. d) another means. Cheers
  4. Aha. I tried this setting and it worked, although now I was presented with the nullDC menu for about a second. I compared the GameEx setting for nullDC for Naomi and it had hide desktop. So I put hide desktop for DC nullDC back in, and this time it also worked!... Looks like the old trick to take the setting off then back on.. Everything is now back to how it was!.. Cheers to everyone that offered help!
  5. I wouldn't think so, I'm using IE8 and no problems at all for me, and not even using the compatibility mode button that comes up for this site
  6. Thanks, I'm quite familar with the config file, I guess when I did the dump of my config it was after some initial testing. Either way, I've let done a new install, and let it create a new config file. Editied to how it should be (and also how it was and working 100% before updating) Now it's launching, but I'm faced with a complete black screen, but audio of the DC launching can be heard. Not sure but I'll check my Naomi NullDC settings as it working!..
  7. Ok, thanks for the info, tried switching from launching from a forward slash to back slash, same issue, black screen. Changed the emu to windowed mode, but still presented with a black screen when launching. Managed to kill the gameEx process, as the NullDC process was still running. What I was presented with was NullDC it had a pop up menu with the selected game in its list, and was waiting for the click of the "OK" button to launch it. Not sure what in GameEx I can add to say click the ok button\?
  8. Ok thanks, look forward to if you can sort it// I use to have my DreamCast in my Arcade Cab, connected by Jamma, but with emulation and gameEX combined it into my PC driven emulation, real bummer that it's not working at the moment..
  9. Hi All got a strange one here. My GameEX is set in a candy cab so rarely gets updates. I've got or rather had NullDC for DreamCast working without any problems. Thought it was about time to do an update, that went smoothly. Now when trying to play via GameEx it goes to a blank screen and nothing, I can quit out back to GameEx. If I shell out of GameEx, I can run nullDC, it prompts for a game, select this and it goes full screen no issues. I've tried fresh a config file, new install of nullDC and creating a test set up in GameEX pointing to the emu gives the same problem Here's my nullDC config ; nullDC config file;; [nullDC] Dynarec.Enabled=1 Dynarec.DoConstantPropagation=1 Dynarec.UnderclockFpu=0 Dreamcast.Cable=3 Dreamcast.RTC=1877385230 Emulator.AutoStart=1 Emulator.NoConsole=1 [nullDC_plugins] GUI=nullDC_GUI_Win32.dll Current_PVR=nullPVR_Win32.dll Current_GDR=nullGDR_Win32.dll Current_AICA=nullAICA_Win32.dll Current_ExtDevice=nullExtDev_Win32.dll Current_maple0_5=drkMapleDevices_Win32.dll:0 Current_maple1_5=drkMapleDevices_Win32.dll:0 Current_maple2_5=NULL Current_maple3_5=NULL Current_maple0_0=drkMapleDevices_Win32.dll:2 Current_maple0_1=NULL Current_maple0_2=NULL Current_maple0_3=NULL Current_maple0_4=NULL Current_maple1_0=drkMapleDevices_Win32.dll:2 Current_maple1_1=NULL Current_maple1_2=NULL Current_maple1_3=NULL Current_maple1_4=NULL [drkpvr] Emulation.AlphaSortMode=1 Emulation.PaletteMode=1 Emulation.ModVolMode=1 Emulation.ZBufferMode=3 OSD.ShowFPS=0 OSD.ShowStats=0 Fullscreen.Enabled=0 Fullscreen.Res_X=640 Fullscreen.Res_Y=480 Fullscreen.Refresh_Rate=60 Enhancements.MultiSampleCount=0 Enhancements.MultiSampleQuality=0 Enhancements.AspectRatioMode=1 [ImageReader] PatchRegion=0 LoadDefaultImage=0 DefaultImage=defualt.gdi LastImage=E:\Emulators\nullDC_103\data\IKARUGA.cdi [nullAica] BufferSize=2048 LimitFPS=1 HW_mixing=0 SoundRenderer=1 GlobalFocus=1 BufferCount=1 CDDAMute=0 GlobalMute=0 DSPEnabled=0 [nullExtDev] mode=0 adapter=0 [ndc_hookjoy] PortA_CONT_C=66 PortA_CONT_B=88 PortA_CONT_A=90 PortA_CONT_START=49 PortA_CONT_DPAD_UP=38 PortA_CONT_DPAD_DOWN=40 PortA_CONT_DPAD_LEFT=37 PortA_CONT_DPAD_RIGHT=39 PortA_CONT_Z=77 PortA_CONT_Y=65 PortA_CONT_X=1 PortA_CONT_DPAD2_UP=0 PortA_CONT_DPAD2_DOWN=0 PortA_CONT_DPAD2_LEFT=0 PortA_CONT_DPAD2_RIGHT=71 PortA_CONT_ANALOG_UP=38 PortA_CONT_ANALOG_DOWN=75 PortA_CONT_ANALOG_LEFT=37 PortA_CONT_ANALOG_RIGHT=39 PortA_CONT_LSLIDER=65 PortA_CONT_RSLIDER=83 PortB_CONT_C=66 PortB_CONT_B=87 PortB_CONT_A=81 PortB_CONT_START=50 PortB_CONT_DPAD_UP=84 PortB_CONT_DPAD_DOWN=70 PortB_CONT_DPAD_LEFT=71 PortB_CONT_DPAD_RIGHT=72 PortB_CONT_Z=77 PortB_CONT_Y=87 PortB_CONT_X=82 PortB_CONT_DPAD2_UP=0 PortB_CONT_DPAD2_DOWN=0 PortB_CONT_DPAD2_LEFT=0 PortB_CONT_DPAD2_RIGHT=0 PortB_CONT_ANALOG_UP=73 PortB_CONT_ANALOG_DOWN=75 PortB_CONT_ANALOG_LEFT=74 PortB_CONT_ANALOG_RIGHT=76 PortB_CONT_LSLIDER=69 PortB_CONT_RSLIDER=83 PortC_CONT_C=66 PortC_CONT_B=88 PortC_CONT_A=86 PortC_CONT_START=16 PortC_CONT_DPAD_UP=38 PortC_CONT_DPAD_DOWN=40 PortC_CONT_DPAD_LEFT=37 PortC_CONT_DPAD_RIGHT=39 PortC_CONT_Z=77 PortC_CONT_Y=90 PortC_CONT_X=67 PortC_CONT_DPAD2_UP=0 PortC_CONT_DPAD2_DOWN=0 PortC_CONT_DPAD2_LEFT=0 PortC_CONT_DPAD2_RIGHT=0 PortC_CONT_ANALOG_UP=73 PortC_CONT_ANALOG_DOWN=75 PortC_CONT_ANALOG_LEFT=74 PortC_CONT_ANALOG_RIGHT=76 PortC_CONT_LSLIDER=65 PortC_CONT_RSLIDER=83 PortD_CONT_C=66 PortD_CONT_B=88 PortD_CONT_A=86 PortD_CONT_START=16 PortD_CONT_DPAD_UP=38 PortD_CONT_DPAD_DOWN=40 PortD_CONT_DPAD_LEFT=37 PortD_CONT_DPAD_RIGHT=39 PortD_CONT_Z=77 PortD_CONT_Y=90 PortD_CONT_X=67 PortD_CONT_DPAD2_UP=0 PortD_CONT_DPAD2_DOWN=0 PortD_CONT_DPAD2_LEFT=0 PortD_CONT_DPAD2_RIGHT=0 PortD_CONT_ANALOG_UP=73 PortD_CONT_ANALOG_DOWN=75 PortD_CONT_ANALOG_LEFT=74 PortD_CONT_ANALOG_RIGHT=76 PortD_CONT_LSLIDER=65 PortD_CONT_RSLIDER=83 local_port=0 server_addr=192.168.1.33 server_port=11122 The command I'm using in GameEx nullDC_1.0.3_mmu.exe" -config ImageReader:DefaultImage="[rompath]/[romfile]" I'm at a loss as doubt it would be nullDC config file as it works when not evoked from GameEx, and the command to run it hadn;t been changed I've also re-installed DirextX 9.
  10. It's only really used for a boot CD. We use it as part of MS WIndows Zero Touch setup, which in basic terms boots into WinPE then load the SOE image onto said computer via PXE boot... There are hacks / mods based on this, check out the 911 cd forums, I've made a customized boot cd for this. Running GameEX from it, could be possible but would totally suck, think of WinPE like a Linux LiveCD at best, performance lacking..
  11. Don't know if it's the same as what I have. I got a Vertical orientated screen dedicated for Vertical games. In GameEX I've set in options monitor rotate -90 , I've haven't touched any settings in mame. I'm using mameui32, but works for my other emulators too..
  12. both, naomi nothing to change dreamcast is done within the game
  13. I don't believe I've made any changes in respect to aspect ratio on NullDC, I have my cabinet monitor to Vertical aspect and the Ikaruga display Vertically perfectly...
  14. While setting up GameEX I thought when trying out mame, there was show Cocktail games option.. But can;t seem to find it again... Am I imagining this or is there an option to show this?
  15. Ahhh , Must of had a brain fart to miss that. Have done it, minor problem, it seems to work can here the DreamCast Default loading sound, then the sound of Ikuruga start, but no display is working!.. Will Play with it some more. Update Sorted: For some reason fullscreen had reset t 0, changed back to 1 and all good.. Thank you very much for your help.... THis is truly a great forum... I'm glad a spent the money on this front end, simply rocks!...
  16. Hi Thanks Sorry two different issues, the Naomi version of NullDC works a treat via pc or GameEx except for the two player issue, I haven't tried other Naomi Games as my cab is a dedicated vertical set-up and can't find other vertical games..(I'll make another thread later for the Naomi One) But I'm addressing the DreamCast version in this post, so yes NullDC DreamCast version, which works fine via PC, but cannot get it to load via GameEX. That link you posted refers to loading DAEMON Tools first. I really don't want another process loading also installing another APp, and can't see why this is needed when without using GameEX I can fire up NullDC (DreamCast Version) point to a CDI file and load up full screen and start playing. Surely this is possible in GameEX???, ahh I think it's only if you want to load ISO files? I think this may help me http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...c=4592&st=0 Cheers
  17. Hi All. Firstly thanks to everyone for previous help, I've got Null DC Naomi working perfectly except in Ikuruga (well thats only one I;ve tried) can;t get 2 player controls working? Any way I have the DreamCast version of NullDC working through windows, full screen and controls configured.... But via GameEX it goes to a black screen and then nothing. When Ctr-Alt-Del out I can see NullDC has been fired up but doesn't load the game. 18. Got NullDC working after buying a Geforce FX 5500 for $35 AUDs No lag and no audio problems... But do have on issue. My arcade cab is set to Vertical, so I;ve configure the game (Dreamcast) to vertical, no issues there.. Problem is I can;t use the arcade controls, which is connected via Jpac. Also in testing with the keyboard, Down makes the ship go right, Left makes it go up, Up goes right, and Right goes down. So no luck there... IS there a way O can configure the key mapping? I'm using nullDC_103 version Cheers
  19. Yep, I'm using the DC one!... so two mistakes . But with testing it was working prior to installing DX9, the DC logo would be black but games loaded up fine. !!!!.. Thanks for you help, at least it's helped with how wrappers work!...
  20. Thanks. IS it important to use the Naomi one or can I use the DC one? Same issue happened with that wrapper. But I think I found the problem. It was working if I ran it manually, although it complained about missing a dll, I looked into this and found I needed DX9 installed. Did this and forgot about testing it again. Weired that a game would load up even not having DX9 installed... So testing by just opening the NullDC emulator and I select the cdi image, goes to load, can see black dos box, then it quits. Probably what's happening using the wrapper, but not visible to what was happening. More research and my Display card is a onboard Intel Extreme 2, not capable of DX9, and from the requirements of NullDC, it needs a display card capable of DX9.... looks like I'll have to invest in this..
  21. I can't get it working but most likley cause I'm a noob at GameEX.. My Details. Emulator is on E:\ drive. located e:\emulators\nullDC_103 In Advance settings I have Rom path e:\emulators\nullDC_103 Command Line "[APP]\LOADERS\nullDC-Naomi_Wrapper.exe" "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" everything is default. The Wrapper was extracted / ran in the loaders directory. I can see the emulator in GameEx, select it, it then sees the one game I have. I select it to run, thinks for a couple of seconds and then throws me back to the select screen..

    Hide OS

If you do run it, and find you need to change settings easy to do. Exit out of GameEx. hit Ctrl-Alt-Del.Go to the Task Manager tab.. File > New Task Enter in "explorer" without the quotes. And your back into Windows..
  23. Sounds good, so how do you apply this wrapper, still lost on how these work. Sorry I'm new to GameEX.. Do the DC games have to be in CDI format, I've got ton of games on CDR, have no success transferring them back to cdi format
  24. Hi All, I've searched everywhere (well I think) but cannot find how to apply a wrapper. I want to enable DreamCast emulation so have downloaded the Chankcast one, now what any help would be great!// BTW, I thought it was strange that from GameEX setup you can download Chankcast but theres not configs for it withing, but there's configs for NullDC but no download withing GameEX, weird huh?

    New Setup

Hi All. Got a registered version and was wondering if there is anyone else running GameEx on a Tri Res Monitor. My Arcade cab is set to 31khz 640x480, input via VGA connector. The monitor is in Vertical position.. Was seeing if anyone had a recommended Video Display set up? I have GameEx set to 90 degree angle, if I shell out to Windows it's then on it's side, so I use Windows Display driver to also switch to 90 degrees, problem when doing this (screen is at 480 x 640) it complains with this message (Resolution is not equal orelse greater than 632 x 264. Exiting) can this check be turned off???? Cheers!
