  1. Make sure to use the .cue, .ccd or .mds when loading discs in daemon tools. Open an audio player and see if it plays the tracks. Or open the virtual drive in explorer and see if it shows the audio tracks. If it doesn't, then it should indeed be a problem with daemon tools. If they do show up, then your problem might lie in some audio card setting/driver. Edit: Also, you don't need to mount disc images in DT to properly hear CDDA in Fusion. It even supports cuesheets with multi file disc images if that's the way you have yours. Might wanna give it a try as well. Commandline: Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "game.cue"
  2. SSF is fully working for me. Try deleting the SSF.ini file and retry it. Or extract a clean copy on a new folder. I remember once having issues with it opening but never opening. Kinda like opening in a tiny window that didnt show anything. Deleting the .ini file did the trick. Or, if you don't want to risk losing settings, just cut/paste the .ini file somewhere else for now, then try running it again. It will recreate one, but if it works, there you go.

    4 new sounds for GameEx. For use with Themes. - introsound.wav - focus.wav - select.wav - launch.wav
  5. I did some SFX myself a long time ago to use on my own crappy theme. I forgot to share these in case anyone found them interesting to use. Inside this rar there are 4 sounds: a new intro sound, new focus sound, new select sound and new launch sound. The new focus sound was mostly inspired by the xbox 360 tick when you scroll stuff. Dunno if it's still in the newer dashboards since It's been a long time since I've used mine. The new intro was made not too long ago. Wanted to make something that sounded retro-ish and modern at the same time. They work well for me, and I'm sharing these so anyone can use for their own themes if liked. Hope y'all like. djonek-sounds.rar
  6. I wonder how does it affect resources if at all. Launching XBMC, then GameEx, then Emulators. Anyone ever done a test to see how much resources would XBMC/GameEx both use when launching in this fashion?
  7. I'd be happy to contribute to db updates but there is no clear procedure to properly update them. I don't know if there is a specific tool we should use, or just plain Access, or SQLite. Then there's this "Database Manager" on the Headsoft site, but the link doesn't work without user/pass. I can work with SQLite, but seems like it's not easy to work with while keeping it clean and organized. Also, some explanation on the inner workings on them should help. Like how do they cross-reference each other under GameEx, like for ports, when they show up as "Also Available" for other consoles. Nothing is really clear on the matter. Ideally, GameEx should have all it's databases online so they can be edited by members with authorization, and easily downloadable to GameEx.
  8. I think GameEx uses "[virtualdrive]" as a variable, so it points to the mounted image regardless of drive letter. You should try the following commandline: XEBRA.exe -SPTI [virtualdrive] -RUN2 -FULL Every emulator has their own options, and not everyone uses the same options, so there's no single commandlines for everybody. I think there's a list of commandlines for most emulators somewhere on the forums. I'll try to dig it out and point to it here. EDIT: OK, I was talking about this: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/3-user-submitted-configs-map-files-wrappers-and-databases-uploads/?p=53501 It doesn't list all emulators though, just the most common used ones.
  9. you need to mount the image and use SPTI... this is my command line for Xebra XEBRA.exe -SPTI M: -RUN2 -FULL M: being my virtual drive. I use a batch file though which does some other things before and after. If you use the GameEx built in virtualdrive, I dunno how it would go, but it would be something similar. Maybe replace M: with [virtualdrive] or something like that.
  10. I took the task of updating the Playstation Database file using the redump naming convention. I used the No-Intro column since I couldn't figure out how to rename it to Redump. If anyone knows how to do this, pls do tell. No-Intro doesn't do CD stuff so, yea Also, I'm wondering how this database is so neatly organized alphabetically. If I need to add new entries, they are added at the very bottom and lose the alphabetical arrangement. Any way to go about that? There's a couple of entries that need duplication since different regions use different names. Alsox2, it seems some titles have trouble matching when using periods in titles. For Example, "Armorines - Project S.W.A.R.M.", or "Bio F.R.E.A.K.S.". "I.Q - Intelligent Qube" seems to work though, so maybe it's only when there are multiple periods in a title. Anyway, hope some people find good use for it. Spent some effort on it. For anyone using redump's naming conventions, it should make their stuff match the DB very neatly. EDIT: Used SQLite 2009 Pro Console Sony Playstation.rar
  11. Confirmed. Thanks a bunch.
  12. I'm going to try and re-explain the whole setup situation, what worked and what not, so it can be understood easier... I'll just use the videos path as an example but the other artwork suffers the same problem. I currently have 5 PSX Emulator entries. 3 of them (I'll call these Main) share the same artwork paths, just different emulators. The other 2 have separate artwork paths, but have parenthesis in them. X:\Path = N:\Emulators\Assets\Sony - Playstation NOT WORKING: (Used to work ok until latest update from 13.05-6? to 13.08) 3 Main Emus video path: X:\Path\videos Non-USA video path: X:\Path\videos (nonusa) Translated video path: X:\Path\videos (translated) WORKS: (2 instances that worked ok, one with parenthesis, and one without) 3 Main emus video path: X:\Path\videos1 Non-USA video path: X:\Path\videos (nonusa) Translated video path: X:\Path\videos (translated) 3 Main emus video path: X:\Path\videos Non-USA video path: X:\Path\videos-nonusa Translated video path: X:\Path\videos-translated So you can say it's probably the space between the parenthesis that causes the confusion on gameex. Weird how spaces don't affect the path though.
  13. After more testing, it's not a problem with shared paths, but some sort of cache problem. I just renamed the videos folder from "videos" to "videos1" and they showed up fine. I revert back to "videos", and they fail to load again. The same is happening accross all artwork for these PSX emulators. Does GameEx store any artwork matching cache data elsewhere other than "GameEx\Data"? EDIT: What is interesting is that by renaming that "videos" to "videos1" on the 3 main PSX emulators, also fixed the other 2 PSX emulators which had the videos folder named as "videos (nonusa)" and "videos (translated)" respectively. Weird behavior. Almost as if those depend on the 3 main ones working. EDIT2: I think I just found the REAL problem. Somehow it has to do with the parenthesis on artwork paths. Since I had "videos" for the main emulators, and "videos (nonusa)" and "videos (translated)", for some reason, they were conflicting with each other and none would show up. I just changed all paths and folders from using parenthesis to simply a dash like "videos-nonusa" and "videos-translated", and everything works as it should again. Would like to keep using the parenthesis though
  14. Here is the log EDIT: BTW, the videos show up on the IMAGE2 box when I hover over the emulator, on the emulator selection screen. Where they show up for just a few seconds randomly. They just aren't matching the actual games inside the emulator page. For some reason. I tried deleting all the cache files for said emulators, but it just rebuilt them and nothing changed. The emus with the problem are EMU_49 through EMU_53 log.txt
  15. After the latest update, I can no longer have shared paths for artwork across different emulators. For example, I have 3 different PSX emulators set up, all using the same artwork. So their paths for videos, snaps, etc are all pointing at the same place. If I make a copy of the videos on 3 different folders, and point each to a separate folder, the videos work. Otherwise, they just won't show up. I am not sure exactly when it broke, but I think it was on the most recent ones. I seem to recall them working just fine not too long ago. Attached the gameex.ini just in case but don't think it's necessary. GameEx.ini
  16. You could also take a look at 12noon Display Changer and configure GameEx so a batch runs before and after you run GameEx. Make the batch that runs before switch your HDTV as your primary, then the other batch will swap it back to default when it exits. The reason I suggest this is because a lot of emulators can't be configured to run on secondary monitors anyways, so unless you use GameEx strictly for MAME, you'll run into problems later down the road. If configured this way, all your emulators will load properly on your primary display (HDTV on your case) with no extra setup needed.
  17. No. I used the gameinfo plugin settings itself to set screen 0. Don't know if the coordinates did anything at all. Just deleted the .xml and it still works great. So not needed for now.
  18. #()$#)$_@#@!@!! <-- insert random curses here Using screen "0" on your plugin settings did the trick lol. I realized if my HDTV being monitor 2 was identified by your plugin as 1, then probably the PC monitor being 1 on windows could be 0 on your plugin. And seems that was the case. lol Everything is running great now.
  19. I just did some tests. Without doing the switcharoo, the gameinfo bar shows nicely on the HDTV (secondary monitor and monitor 2 under windows), while gameex and emulators all launch on the PC monitor (primary display and monitor 1 on windows). Settings on gameinfo plugin all set as screen 1 interestingly enough. So it works perfectly on a secondary monitor (using default settings) as long as gameex and emus all load on monitor 1/primary. Once I switched to screen 2 on the gameinfo plugin settings (while keeping monitors default like above), the gameinfo bar disappeared again. It didnt show up on top of emus or below them. So it just doesnt want to show up on my PC monitor at all. BTW, when using those bats, only primary/secondary relationship is changed (direct3d/opengl stuff shows up only on primary displays, or was it directdraw...forgot). Monitor # assignment is kept intact. So PC monitor is always 1 and my HDTV is always 2. Also, dont know if screen position is important. Coordenates for my screens are 0,0 for PC monitor (monitor 1) and -1360,0 for HDTV (monitor 2). They keep the same coordinates when switching primary/secondary as well. EDIT: Actually, they dont keep the same coordinates. When switching, PC monitor becomes 1360,0 and HDTV becomes 0,0. Prolly insignificant but just in case it matters.
  20. Tried running minimized but it didn't show anywhere. I think the black screen I mentioned before has to do with the emulator I was testing it with. I tried another emu and nothing happens on the 2nd monitor. Also, the whole thing about my resolution going out of whack was probably my video card acting up or something. After I restarted my PC, everything got fixed. I don't think your pluggin was at fault. So after more testing, it seems like it only wants to work on the primary display. If I leave it default on screen 1, they show up on my HDTV along with the emulator. Once I switch to screen 2, it just never appears. Gonna try disabling the whole switcharoo I got going on before launching gameex, to see if it works ok that way.
  21. I'm getting the same results with the new version. Screen goes black but doesn't show the gameinfo bar. Shift+TAB doesn't do anything. Gonna try to keep trying different settings.
  22. Nice work. I tried the Override.xml thing and interestingly enough, when I used screen 1, it still showed on my HDTV (Primary display, but labeled as monitor 2 on windows). I went ahead and tried screen 2 and it seemed to do the trick, but the gameinfo bar was nowhere to be found. The PC monitor just went black, almost as if it were there but with the actual game info bar out of the screen area. At least that's what it seemed to me.
  23. I tried this new version but it screwed up all my display config. It made GameEx launch on my PC monitor (not HDTV as I have it set up), and it changed my resolution to 640x480 from 1680x1050. Had to go to display properties to re-configure the displays to the way they were before since the settings were kept even after I exited GameEx. I have a weird setup though. My windows primary monitor is the PC monitor and the secondary is the HDTV. When I launch gameex, I use a batch to run before, so it swaps primary displays. HDTV becomes primary and pc monitor becomes secondary. GameEx is launched on the HDTV, and all emulators are displayed on the HDTV as well. I wanted to show the GameInfo plugin on the PC monitor, which should now be the secondary display. On windows though, the display is still labeled as Monitor 1, even though it's secondary. Hopefully you have an idea of my setup now. So when I set up the plugin, I just changed the "Game" option to screen 2. Disabled Jukebox and Atract thingies. When I launched GameEx, for some reason it (gameex) launched on the PC monitor with a 640x480 resolution. Let me know if you need more testing. EDIT: PC Specs: Core2Duo 2.13ghz 4gb ram NVidia GeForce 450gts 1gb Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
  24. An update to make it show up on desired display would be nice. My GameEx/Emulator setup all run on my HDTV (secondary display, but set as primary before launch), but on windows it still shows up as display 2. So basically the plugin runs on the HDTV underneath emulators and flickers everytime the counter updates. It used to work fine when the numbers were switched around (windows identified my primary as 2 and my HDTV as 1). But now that they got switched again after update, I pretty much can't enable it. Anyway, nothing major. Just some feedback.
  25. I had this very same issue and the fix seems to work for me. Ambience played 3 out of 3 times. Before it would just play like 1 out of 4 or so.
